Saving Jerry

"A faint purple light. It leads us to a statue, then we go right after three hundred feet down a hallway to two closed doors, guarded most likely," Jerry said, "but, before that, when we get to the statue, we must discuss where we might find Phil and Lily."

The apartment was dingy and covered in dust. Zalia scanned the floor. "We leave footprints when we walk."

"We better take our shoes off so monsters can't find us," Kaden whispered.

"Socks, too. Those are probably dirty too," Nick said.

The boys all did so, including Jerry.

Zalia looked at the floor, gross. Zalia hesitated before putting one hand on Kaden's shoulder to balance herself while she removed her shoes.

They kept walking.

TIME SKIP: 1 HOUR

Teagan said, "look, Dad! The light!"

And so it was.

Zalia nodded. "We still need Phil and lily."

"Alright." When they were at the statue (it was of Zeus), Kaden suggested, "well, maybe there down one of these other three hallways. We need bait, though. Zalia, do you have anything in your bag we can use for monster bait?"

"We smell like bait," Zalia mumbles and dug through her bag. "I have food, water, clothes, and a notebook." She looked at Jerry, "any ideas?"

"Any meat?"

Zalia held up a slim Jim, "I've got ten of these."

Jerry took three, throwing one in each hallway. In the Northern hallway, he heard the monsters go after it, but nothing in the other two. "I think those monsters are guarding Phil and Lily's kidnapped area. Get your weapons ready kids, we don't know how many there'll be."

Kaden, Jerry, and Nick got their weapons ready. Teagan held his fists together.

"Teagan, you're going to need a weapon," Nick said. "Zalia, got any spare?"

"A pocket knife?" It wasn't much, and Zalia felt bad because she didn't think it would help him any.

"I guess. Teagan, just stay behind all of us." Nick gave him the pocket knife. They went into the hallway.

Zalia went into te back of the group and walked close to Teagan, feeling bad he only has a pocket knife.

A couple empousai headed their direction. Nick killed one. Kaden got a lucky hit. One went after Teagan, two after Zalia, and three after Jerry. Teagan got super lucky and killed his. Kaden tried to help Zalia. Nick helped Jerry, as did Teagan, which was stupid and dangerous of him.

The two empousai had made Zalia back up and trip over debris. While Zalia was falling her sword flew out of her hand and killed one. She side swept the other one making it fall.

Kaden killed the other.
Nick, Jerry, and Teagan killed the others.

Jerry opened the doors, and quickly explained everything to Phil and Lily. When they returned to the statue, after that, he headed towards the exiting-door.

When they reached there, everyone of my characters got excited.

"Here we are." Jerry went to push it open. It wouldn't. Pull? It wouldn't. "It's locked."

"Maybe if we all try together?" Kaden asked, hopefully, and very frightened.

"No, it's not even that. It's not guarded."

Suddenly, there was spinning.

"Oh no."

"What?"

"The statue is the centerpiece, and the halls are in a rotation! We're in the wrong hall!" Suddenly, at the other end of the hall, water came bursting at them.

Nick panicked and started crying, "we're going to drown!"

"Nick! Shut up and don't waste your breath." Zalia closed her eyes struggling to not be to dizzy. "Where is the water coming from?"

"The other side of the hallway!" Jerry looked up. Above the doorway, there was a switch. But nobody would be small enough to swim there and get air.....he turned towards Brownie.

Nick knew what he was thinking. "Brownie, can you get the switch, buddy?" He said, petting him.

Brownie barked. When the water came full force, Phil tossed Brownie up. All my chars held their breath. Brownie doggie-paddled toward the switch. He took a paw and put it down. The water went through a vent in the ceiling, which was black, so no one could've seen it, anyway.

Brownie came back to Nick. They celebrated.

"Next time, we use a flashlight to notice odd vents in the ceiling," Kaden joked.

Zalia nodded and closed her eyes trying to make her head stop spinning. "Alright, let's move forward."

They went to the cennterpiece, then realized, a diamond plate with about to shut the hallway openings. They had spikes at the bottom.

"Uh oh. There's three to check. We have to split up. One team will make it out...the other two...."

Nick followed Brownie close to an opening. "This was the kidnap area, so only two. There's eight of us....maybe we should just go into one together? We could save eight lives."

"But we could loose eight. If we split up, basically four of us are guaranteed to live," Phil said.

Kaden held Zalia's hand. "I'm going with Zalia."

Phil said, "I want to be with Nick and Brownie."

Nick sighed, then looked at Teagan. "Teagan, you and your father should go with Kaden and Zalia. Lily, come with us."

So, it was: Kaden, Zalia, Jerry, and Teagan to Nick, Brownie, Phil, and Lily.

Everyone said their goodbyes.

Nick went over to Zalia. "I'm sorry we fought. I'm sorry for everything." He hugged her.

Zalia hugged Nick back, "I'm sorry I was rude to you." Zakat let go and looked at Kaden. These where his friends and they may not all make it.

Nick nodded, then went away.

"NO!" Teagan suddenly yelled. "If we live, I want to live together. If we die, I want to die together."

Phil said, "the kid's right. We can't do this. So, which one do we do?" The diamond plates were now 50% there.

Brownie went to one. "I guess this one," Nick said.

All my chars ducked under to get into that one.

Zalia followed and slipped her hand into Kaden's. "I want to sit in the middle on the plane."

"Assuming we get there alive."

They walked the hallway. They saw three empousai guarding. This was the one! They all lit up with joy.

"WE'RE GOING TO LIVE!" Teagan yelled in joy.

Five more empousai came.

"WE'RE GOING TO DIE!"

The fight started. Kaden killed one. Nick killed one, but another one snuck up on him.....
