I'm In The Zone.

Lucy carried her coffee and food over to a table and sat down. "So, what's your dad like? Besides the...incident of course." she inquired.

Holding his coffee in his left hand, Zone sat down across from Lucy when he heard her question. Sighing, Zone said "Up until I was around seven or eight years old, he was a pretty good dad. But then, around that time, my stepmom died and he took a massive turn for the worse." Zone said quietly, absentmindedly wincing as he touched the stitches on his arm.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked." Lucy said, taking his hand softly. Concern filled her eyes and some hair fell into her face, which she didn't notice.

Smiling gently at Lucy's concern for him, Zone set his coffee down, holding her hand softly with his left hand and brushing her hair behind her ear with his other. "It's no problem." Zone muttered softly before continuing. "I needed to get that off my chest either way."

Lucy smiled and looked down at their hands. She trailed her fingers from her free hand along the skin beside the stitches. "These are from him?" she asked softly before looking at him.

Shivering at her touch, Zone nodded before saying "This isn't even a significant amount of them." It was true. The only stitches that she had sen were the ones on his cheeks and the ones on his left arm, and there were twice as many on his right arm and many more on his chest, back, and legs.

A saddened look formed on Lucy's face as she looked at the stitches. "I'm so sorry this happened." she said quietly. She looked at him, studying him, do what reason, who knows but she looked at every inch of his face.

Frowning deeply, Zone stood before walking next to Lucy, wrapping her in a soft hug as he muttered "It's okay, it isn't your fault." As he muttered this, Zone slowly stroked Lucy's hair, glad for the stall-like booths that allowed for privacy.

Lucy leaned into him a little. "That doesn't mean it should have happened. I mean, my dad was always very distant but..." she trailed off and shook her head. "It shouldn't have happened to you." she said softly.

"Well, if it didn't happen then I never would have met you." replied Zone, smiling gently at Lucy's words as he softly stroked her hair with his gloves hand.

Lucy leaned her head on his shoulder. "I'm such a depressing date." she joked, laughing a little. Her eyes looked up at him as she relaxed a bit.

Laughing softly, Zone had an idea. Steeling his mind, Zone leaned down and placed a quick kiss on Lucy's lips, pulling away with a massive blush a few seconds later. "Thank-you." Zone uttered, blushing massively.

Lucy blushed as Zone's lips connected with hers. "Y-you're welcome." she whispered, blushing just as much ad Zone. She looked up at him. "The stitches actually look cool on you." she said.

Grinning slightly despite his blush, Zone said "Thanks. Your... eyes look cool on you?" Zone joked with a slgiht grin.

Lucy laughed a little. "Thanks." she said quietly.

BIC: "No prob-" Zone began to say shortly before an extremely loud shattering noise exploded through the shop, sending dust and shards of glass everywhere. Eyes widening, Zone gripped Lucy by the arm, pulling her to the ground as the shards flew over their heads. "What the..." Zone began just before he saw several large shapes come out of the smoky dust. Out of the dust came a small hydra, most likely only a child, but it was accompaied by a medum-sized Cyclops and 2 hell-hounds. Eyes widening, Zone quickly spun his staff around, jamming it into one of the hydra's mouths just as it was about to attack him, which managed to stop it. He then unhooked his sickle from insde of his coat and held it, ready to fend off the monsters.

Lucy barely had time to react before she was dragged down. She pulled her dagger out of her boot and ran at the cyclops, jumping at him and stabbing it in the eye and watching it dissolving. She turned around and came face to face with one of the hellhounds.

Grimacing, Zone yanked his staff out of the Hydra's mouth, dazing it, before he swung the staff in a circle, sending the chian flying at high speeds at the hydra as it wrapped itself around all 6 heads. Seeing the hell-hound about to take a chunk out of Lucy, Zone powerfully swung the staff with all the strength he could muster, sending the young (and admittedly heavy) hydra flying towards the hellhound as they impacted, both smashing painfully into and through the wall. ZOne then swung his sickle at the hellhound about to bite his arm, plunging the blade through it's skull before he noted the hydra and hellhound were quickly rgaining their consciousness, standing. Zone held his staff in his left hand and his sickle in his right, waiting for the monsters to move.

Lucy watch the hellhound go flying and quickly got up to stand beside Zone as the monsters got up again. "How do you want to do this?" she asked, watching the hydra and the hellhound closely.

Grinning slightly, Zone handed her his heavy(at least for her it would be) chain-and-weighted staff. "Hit them with thie stick for a bit, I'll be right back." After saying this, Zone ran over to the parking lot, starting the car once he dove inside and pressing a few buttons.

Lucy could barely lift the staff. "Zone!" she called as he ran off. She swung the staff as the hellhound leapt at her. The staff hit it and sent it flying. The hydra ran at her so Lucy took her dagger and stabbed it in the chest. "Zone! Where are you?"

Grinning widely, Zone smashed his foot on the gas, sending the car flying forwards at immense speeds as a row of Celestial Bronze Spikes extended from the front bumper, along with a long barrel-like construct full of greek fire. as he drove, the hellhound impacted with the spikes and instantly disintegrated as the car smashed into the hydra, driving the spikes deep into it as Zone pressed a small red button to launch a burst of greek fire, which hit the hydra and ignited instantly.

Lucy fell back as the car came flying in. She stand where she was and covered her face, waiting for it to stop.

Skidding to a stop as the burning hydra disintegrated, Zone opened the door and pulled Lucy in, saying "The police will be here any minute now, so we gotta go." Not bothering to put Lucy on the passenger seat, mainly due to comfort as he kept her on his lap as he drove, Zone slammed the gas, zooming away at such high speeds that passerbys only saw a blur and a massive noise as he quickly left the city.

The next that Lucy knew, she was in Zone's car, on his lap. Out of fear, she hid her face in his shoulder and clutched his shirt in her fists.
