Name: Dai Marino (die mah-ree-no)
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Eyes: Deep Blue
Hair: Black
Height: 5 ft 11 in
Body Type: Has a muscular build, but not any body build. He has the body that makes it evident that he does indeed exercise more often than normal, but he isn't any steroid juicer. He is above-average height for his age, but is nothing too tall.
Skin Color: Olive
God Parent: Briareus
Mortal Parent: Alessandra Marino
Country of Origin: Italy
Pets: none
Talents: Can speak fluent Italian, and is very prominent in different fighting styles
Weapon**: Dai wields a Celestial Bronze Zweihänder. The sword is to be held with two hands and is relatively heavy compared to most long-swords. The blade is 4 feet 3 inches long and is 4 inches wide, and the hilt is a foot and a half long, totaling the length at five feet nine inches.
Personality: Dai is one of the "strong silent" types. While he is very prideful and is very self confident, he does not show much emotion whatsoever. Dai doesn't talk much, and doesn't prefer to approach people. None of this is from shyness, he is just a loner type and doesn't like people. One could easily mistake this "emotionless" personality as rude and with a bad attitude all the time, because he actually does actions that someone with a bad attitude would do, but not purposely. Such actions would include glaring harshly at someone just because they call his name, or simply shoving someone aside because they are purposely being obnoxious to him. Although he barely makes social contact with other people he is very arrogant, and never doubts himself with anything whatsoever. He, when he actually speaks to others willingly and engaged in full conversations, speaks like he is the king of the world, and others are beneath him.
Flaws:
•Aloof
•Asocial
•Blunt
•Cold
•Very hard to make friends with
•Prefers to do things alone over with others
•won't back down from anything unless physically made to
Abilities (must relate to god parent; optional):
•He can easily tell when a storm is approaching based on clouds, wind speeds, and all that good stuff
•Can't get seasick
Powers (must relate to god parent; optional):
•Able to create a tempest around the area with high winds and rain to the point of a class 8 gale on the Beufort Scale, but nowhere close to actual high range of a full-blown storm. This small-scale storm contains high winds, precipitation of my choice (not solely rain) and lightning high in the clouds. This storm lasts for about 4 posts and takes 6 posts to recharge.
•Can propel wind in every direction around him, pushing things or people away to 1 meter away from Dai himself. This duration is done in one post, and has a three post cool down imbetween uses
Life Before Camp*: Alessandra Marino was an Italian born and raised in Naples, Italy to a working family. Always being a bold person, she left Naples - her only home - for America, not even knowing what awaited her. There she began working again, but instead of investing it all into college and houses and cars and things of that sort she wasted her money on fun but not exactly financially smart things like mountain climbing. She found a rush in this type of thing, and she continued to do this. Once she rented a jet ski and went riding off, until a very harsh storm hit. She was nearly killed, until a man whom she did not know swam out and swam her back to shore, thus saving her life. Alessandra thought herself to be in debt to this man, so she offered him money but he refused. Alessandra didn't understand why, but she just accepted it. The man asked for dinner, however and Alessandra gladly accepted. She learned more about this man during this small date, and found he was even more of a risk-taker than she was, going boating in the worst of storms and everything. She found that interesting, so she continued to speak and go on with this night with this unknown stranger. The pair continued to date and eventually form a relationship together over time, until one night they decided to take things beyond that. The man, in the beginning of the next day told himself to be a god - the god Briareus. This caught Alessandra off guard, considering that she would, in a few months birth this man's child which would be a demigod. What she also found cold-hearted on his part was the fact he couldn't stay to help raise the child. Alessandra found this infuriating, but also confidence-building. It was something she didn't know how to do, she had to raise a child alone. Alessandra told herself she would do this the right way, and that if she could raise a child she could do anything. So that's what she did. Alessandra birthed her child Dai nine months later, and she began to raise him. Throughout Dai's younger years he wasn't picked on at all - he actually had a relatively good life. In elementary school he struggled a bit but went on, even though students and teachers alike thought it was odd he didn't really speak to anyone. In middle school things took a turn for the worse. Students started taking advantage of his passive-aggressiveness. They would start messing with him, pushing him around and annoying him. These kids would only do this because they knew Dai never did anything about it, despite him being one of the most physically fit kids in his grade. No one expected someone like Dai to snap one day. On a Tuesday in May, a boy the same age as Dai went up to him and shoved him, laughing an calling him a name which he hated more than anything. Dai didn't say a word and just glared at the boy, who only laughed at his hard look and shoved him again, this time afterwards he smacked Dai's books down. Dai grabbed the boy's shirt and slammed him against the lockers, and punched him once good in the ribs. Dai didn't know what made him attack this boy, but he didn't find himself getting out of the situation. Dai was suspended from his school, and was forced to spend the next few days with his mom. He and his mother didn't have much of a relationship, which was more Dai's fault than Alessandra's. She made Dai just run some errands, as if the incident had never happened. He walked to the store, where he encountered a kid from school. He didn't exactly become friends with Dai but Dai found he was one of the only people who didn't actually attack and be thoroughly obnoxious to him. Also Dai found they always seemed to be around each other, but he payed little mind to it. While in this store, an unexpected thing happened. A big burly man whom Dai could not identify went up to him and pushed him down on the ground. He started throwing punches all towards Dai's face, his humungous hands beating away at Dai. The kid whom Dai could still not identified came in, and jumped onto the large man's back. He yelled for Dai to get up and make a break for the exit, and that Dai did. The boy followed and they ran their way back to Dai and Alessandra's house. The boy, who apparently knew Dai's family talked directly to her while Dai watched in a moment of "wtf?" Dai's mother immediately afterwards decided that she would take Dai on a road trip. Dai and the kid and Dai's mom got in her car, and Alessandra drove off. They made it there with little complications, finding the Camp that Dai would be staying at. She hugged him and kissed him once goodbye before Alessandra went back from where she came, leaving Dai and this anticlimactic moment in the dust.
RP Example*: Dai lay on the edge of the lake, thinking about his life. It was boring out so he just decided to entertain himself by just thinking. That he did. He thought about his life, and how his mother was outside in her own. He eventually drifted off to sleep, and had pleasant dreams. These dreams were interrupted by a loud noise, one of which Dai could not pinpoint the location of. He never was much of a heavy sleeper, so this noise was very easy to disturb his sleep. Not to mention he absolutely hates when things disturb his sleep, so this caused him to walk off in a fury. Dai walked off towards where the noise originated - or where he thought the noise originated. After walking ten minutes he gave up and stuck his sword in the ground, then lay against it. He tried once again to fall asleep, not wanting anyone or anything else to disturb him.
