Wade and Colten entered with Vino, both going to Cupid- wait, no, Mars, well, Wade went to Mars, and Colten went to Cupid.

Colten saw his father. "Oh my gods! Cupid! Uhm, uhm," he pulled out some flashcards. "Hello, I am Colten Juinse. I am 15 years old. You are my dad- father, sorry, that's more respective- this is my first time here. I am Wade Juinse's brother-"

Wade saw his grandfather, Mars. He grinned- he'd be visiting Mars for the past 8 years, every solstice. "Grandpa Mars. Been causing a lot of wars? How about flirting with Venus?"

horace casually strolls in, smiling like a kid getting a bike on his birthday. he'd already been here the past three years, so he really wasn't all too excited when he heard he could meet his dad. being jupiter and all, the guy was probably busy. but horace didn't mind, since he was quite the busy dude too. he had to play pranks, flirt with chowilawu, eat stuff, flirt some more with chow, and then sleep. hey, all in a days work, right? so here horace was (in flip flops, naturally) in all his handsome glory. he was going to light a cigarette but then realized that that might be kind of rude. horace shrugs and brushes dust off of his purple spqr tanktop, still smiling. he rocks back and forwards on the heels of his feet and then walks over to jupiters throne, after spotting him. "hey, dad! s'me, horace!" he calls and gives him an awkward salute of sorts.

ooc: i'll add others later, but for now it's just horace. .p.

Vino walked in the divine place with his best friend Colten and Colten's brother, Wade. He made his way to Bacchus' throne, not helping the smile the grew across his face. "Pops?" He asked, finally standing before the throne of his father. "I'm Vino Caesar, one of your sons." His goofy smile was still on his face. The smile was out of nervous habit seeing as he was standing before a god.
    ----
Chowilawu was nervous about meeting his father for almost three hundred years. His hair was braided back in a single braid. He wore his brown leather vest along with a pair of faded blue jeans. On his feet were flip flops that he borrowed from a son of Mercury. Looking around, he saw Horace talking to Jupiter so he decided to not say anything and go to where his own father, Neptune. Walking up to him, he kneeled and greeted his father, "Salve, padre. Praise to you, father, keeper and ruler of the great waters."
    ----
The son of Veritas walked into the room, searching it for his mother. He only came here to say hey, thanks, and see you in December. He felt this way sense, to him, he didn't have a really good relationship with his mother like most of the demigods throughout the U.S. and the world. He wore a simple Camp Jupiter T-shirt and jean shorts. Once he found his mother, he walked over to her throne. "Hello, mother." Günther-Klaus greeted.
    ----

"Can you at least look like you're happy to be here?" Tanzania asked her boyfriend, Alexander, wiping something off his chin with her well manicured thumb. She had wanted to Alexander to come with her as support. The daughter of Bellona wore a beautiful purple, sleeveless sundress that stopped just below her knees and red wedges. Around her neck was a gold necklace to match her hoop earrings. Tanzy's hair was in her afro, frizzy form sense she liked. She scanned the area for her mother, Bellona.

Alex had come to the trip to Olympus only and solely to accompany Tanzania. His mother Discordia, who he had a lot to say to, and a barrage of complains, didn't hsve a throne on Olympus and he had nothing to say to his grandfather Mars. He had inherited nothing from him, sometimes even he forgot that he was a legacy of him. He just held Tanzania's hand and looked at the other guys talking to their parents. "Uh... l don't think so."

    ----------------------------------

Phil had mixed feelings for the Olympus visit. On one hand it would may be an awesome experience -seeing the Gods? Like, their domain? That was sick! On the other hand, he didn't really want to see his dad, Mercury, because he'd probably start snapping at him for providing himwith USELESSNESS. Pure freaking uselessness. He had almost dreamt of the moment he'd get to speak to  his dad, but now he was just scared. "Uh.. hi." he almost wishpered.

OOC: I'll do the gods later on guys, granted someone else doesn't RP them first.

BIC: The elevator doors slid open with a tinkling sound and Tiberia walked out with her brothers and Leandra, but didn't yet engage into the slim path leading up to the mountain.
As usual, the sheer scale of Olympus knocked the breath right out of her lungs. The temples, the arches, the domes,.... Everything was pure marble and shimmering in gold or silver, walls glittering with mosaics and tiles gleaming up like lagoons on the trussed roofs. Bridges and colonnades merged, the fountains and water jets sang happily in the early afternoon, the squares and gardens forming patches of sweet-smelling greenery here and there.
It was simply fantastic, a godly masterpiece no mortal could hope to achieve.
And Tiberia was half at home here.

Despite the altitude, it wasn't cold at all up here. To her surprise, it rather felt like a Mediterranean climate -- at least how she imagined a Mediterranean climate to be like.
Holding her backpack on her shoulders, she finally took the first step forward and walked on the marble path towards the shimmering city, her heart beating up to her throat. She wouldn't admit it, but she was as nervous going up to the divine mountain as she had been when heading to her very first battle.
She had been fourteen at that point... How young.

Tiberia felt very self-conscious as she walked towards the city of the gods. Of course, she had dressed up a bit for the occasion, she wouldn't just stumble in in her usual legionnaire gear. Actually, she'd have put on a stola and palla, but this wasn't New Rome, this was NYC, and walking around in actual Roman clothing might draw some attention. So she had come in a spotless pair of white denims, dark blue flats and a navy blouse with rolled-up sleeves, a thin golden anchor necklace on her chest. Her smooth curls were braided over her shoulder, all rebellious streaked tucked behind her ears, and she had even put on a bit of fresh Armani perfume on her throat and wrists. She wanted to be impeccable when meeting the gods of Rome.

It took them about fifteen minutes to walk up to the temple of the gods. On the way there she passed a number of happy nymphs hanging out in the pleasure gardens with glowing drinks or chasing each other between the columns, caught sight of some good-looking youths sitting near a fountain who must be minor gods, and an amount of other creatures she couldn't quite identify. The place was overwhelming. She felt so weird, elated at being there but still intimidated because she knew she wasn't allowed to stay.

Finally, she reached it -- Pantheon, the Hall of Gods. Not like, a pantheon, this was the Pantheon, the original one. Tiberia shared a glance with Decimus as they finished scaling the steps only to stand in front of the large bronze doors. Well then, here we go.

    And she walked in.

The room was huge and stunning. It gleamed with mosaics and different types of marble; the strong columns rose up to support a domed ceiling painted with constellations of stars. Braziers cast a game of light and shadows on the walls. But Tiberia hardly noticed all that, her attention was entirely taken by the thrones, right there, in front of her.
The gods were sitting in their usual form, three meters tall, as if they weren't intimidating enough already. Keeping her eyes down respectfully, she strode across the hall with the certitude that everyone around could hear how hard her heart was pounding, but came to a stop as she saw that Chow, the newly arrived son of Neptune, had beaten her to the god's throne.
A bit let down, she turned away and tried to find Feronia, her ancestor. Maybe she had a couple of minutes to spare to talk to her?
Would she even remember her? After all, the Scipio family dated back to Middle Age... However she had fought in the wars so maybe, just maybe, it had attracted Feronia's attention? Granted she hadn't heard all the prayers she had addressed to her over the years of course.

Wade saw his grandfather, Mars. He grinned- he'd be visiting Mars for the past 8 years, every solstice. "Grandpa Mars. Been causing a lot of wars? How about flirting with Venus?"

Cupid was pretty sure Mefitis was making googly eyes at him -- after all, who wouldn't? He was beauty personified -- besides the lovely Venus, of course, but that was to be expected of the goddess of love herself. With dazzling brown eyes and dark hair and a smile worthy of his stature as a god, he was definitely not someone to be ignored. Of course, it was Olympus day -- which meant Jupiter would be keeping an eye on him to behave. Such little freedom nowadays. Was it his fault he was made to be male perfection? Maybe.

Standing by his throne, he was dressed smartly in a white polo and khakis, beige sandals. Regular outfit for a day out, right? He didn't really need to impress his kids, they probably wouldn't care thanks to the majesty of Olympus numbing their senses for the time. As he stood there, arms crossed, a boy was approaching him and stuttering; he didn't even get the chance to greet him before the boy, Colten his name was if Cupid could remember correctly from those times he checked on his kids, had pulled out some flashcards and was reciting off of them. The god raised his eyebrows and just laughed, reaching out to pat Colten on the shoulder. "Well, hello there, son. I already know quite a bit about you, so why don't we cut the formalities for now and relax? You're here to meet your dad and grandpa, not kiss our butts. How is everything?"

    ---------

And of course, as opposed to Cupid standing twenty feet away, Mars was being aloof and a little too serious as usual; standing tall and proud, clad in a dark suit, his heavily scarred face was almost set in stone as his grandson Wade approached, smiling at him. He noticed with a slight twitch of his lips how much taller the boy had gotten, and how his brother Colten was apparently fumbling with flashcards while talking to Cupid. Poor, poor child.

Rubbing his chin, the war god nodded at Wade and turned to face him fully, eyeing him up and down. Training was doing him some good, at least; he seemed slightly more muscular than last he'd seen him, at least. "Ah. Yes. Hello, Wade. No, I haven't been trying to cause wars -- mortals seem very capable of causing them themselves, don't they? And yes. Flirting with Venus lots. Yes."

Out of the corner of her eye, he could see the goddess waving at him excitedly; he waved at her without looking her in the eye, still concentrating on his grandson. He wasn't as great with words as he would have liked; he was a natural leader for battle, but interacting with children was... not his forte. He should probably listen to Vesta more about that whenever she visited for tea; she was very popular with the younger generations of demigods and legacies for her, ah, apparent friendliness. Mars, with his stoic face and very rigid, militaristic pose, was probably not a great example of openness. Running a hand over his face, the god half-smiled at his grandson and asked, "And how do you do? How has your training been?"

"hey, dad! s'me, horace!" he calls and gives him an awkward salute of sorts.

Juno wasn't happy with Jupiter again, but then again, she always found something to nitpick about him. Did she have a reason this time? Maybe. It certainly had a lot to do with one of his sons, Horace, who was now approaching his throne and looking very cheerful as he made his way across the throne room. With narrowed eyes, Juno had turned and walked away to probably go complain about him to Minerva or Vesta; they always lended her their ear whenever she wanted. Did he feel bad about his many affairs? Sometimes. As goddess of marriage he supposed it was in her nature to be angry at his lack of respect for their marriage, but that certainly didn't excuse her sending monsters after any of his children, Greek or Roman. (He wasn't the best dad either, but he didn't think he was terrible.)

Dressed in a blue pin-striped suit and towering even above the gods, at eight feet tall, Jupiter just gave off an aura of power that made the other gods give him a rather wide berth in front of his throne -- about six feet radius, ha. He'd have to ask Vulcan to extend the throne room a bit, or maybe Trivia, to make room. Camp Jupiter certainly was getting larger every year, wasn't it? He raised his hand in greeting to Horace as the boy approached, clad in the purple Camp Jupiter tank top, flip-flops, all of that. Very casual. Yes. Jupiter couldn't remember the last time he had worn anything but a suit.

Brushing a lock of dark hair out of his face, the king of the gods smiled down at his boy, wondering briefly if Juno were going to send a snake after him after Olympus visits were over. Hopefully not. Vesta would surely suspect what she might do. "Well now, who else could this possibly be? Welcome to Olympus, son, how have you been lately? Growing like a weed, surely."

Lounging lazily on his throne, Bacchus had really been expecting to have an easy day here on Olympus. He had tried to dress for the occasion, at least, wearing a purple button-up shirt and khakis (which seemed to be the popular type of pants among the gods, anyway), sipping a Diet Coke as he waited for something interesting to happen. Did he have kids? Obviously, since he wasn't Diana. But did he really want to talk to them? He had a bit of a headache from partying with some nymphs last night, didn't want to really talk much -- not that he had a hangover, but he was sort of lazy. Jupiter wouldn't approve, ha.

But then one of his boys was approaching -- Vino, like grape vine or somethin' -- and looked mighty cheerful, to say the least. Was he nervous or just a little too happy with himself? Bacchus couldn't tell. Gruffly, he gave him a once-over and sat up a bit to at least give the impression he was happy his boy was there. "Eh, well. Welcome to Olympus, enjoy the view and mmmyeah. Know 'xactly who you are. How is everything down at, eh, camp? Whatever you kids do there. Training and all."

Father of the year goes to....

    ---------

Sitting by a freshwater fountain, beautifully ornate and carved by the works of several of the more prominent Romans descended from the gods, Neptune was swirling his hand in the cold water, admiring how the white marble seemed to shine in the bright lights of the throne room. He wasn't too popular, really, but he didn't care; he had the waters of the world and didn't mind too much being feared by the Roman people. Their loss, after all: the seas were an untapped resource that always came to bite them in the butt. The other gods were more at ease with him than the demigods and legacies and mortals, but that was only because they knew what he could do; to the mortals, he was a ferocious, murderous force, so obviously they had to allocate to him a small temple, nothing much really. At least as a Greek people liked him. Ha.

Chuckling to himself, the god turned away from the waters at the sound of flip-flops flip-flopping their way toward him across the throne room floor. With a slight smile, Neptune immediately recognized him as Chowilawu, his only boy from, say, hundreds of years ago. The Lotus Casino certainly didn't age him, as expected, but how he was adjusting the god didn't know. He'd checked up on him from time to time while he was stuck in there, but by Jupiter's decree he could do nothing to help him. His son knelt before him in greeting; Neptune raised his hand and beckoned his son to get up. "Salve, child -- and please stand. We don't need to get into formalities -- this is, after all, supposed to be a sort of... family outing of sorts. How are you, my boy? How have you been adjusting to your new life?"

    ---------

Veritas was fuming again -- the stupid Internet was circulating poorly researched information as usual. She should know better than to get mad, though, since this was all too common an occurrence for this goddess of truth to fix and prevent in the future. Trivia always laughed at her about this, but still: truth was definitely one of the highest virtues achievable for any mortal. The fact that they wouldn't do research properly and circulate lies was... ugh.

Enough internet for one day, Veritas. She shut her laptop and shoved it into the satchel hanging off the arm of her throne. Formalities, formalities -- bah. Mars and Jupiter had made a point by lecturing all the gods to try paying attention to everything going on around them, but really, what if said gods didn't have that many children to talk to? Why did she even have to come? She didn't know. She'd be lying if she said she truly enjoyed most of these Olympus visits, sitting there alone amidst the bustle of kids coming in, out, returning.

But then, suddenly, there was a voice greeting her -- whose approach she hadn't noticed. Veritas didn't jump in surprise or anything, but rather frowned as she turned in her seat to look at the source: a boy in the classic purple t-shirt and jean shorts, looking at her expectantly. She was dressed, for some reason, not much better than that: dark blue skinny jeans, a gray blouse, black boots. As opposed to, say, Cupid and Mars and Jupiter, she was pretty underdressed. But she didn't care. "Aah, yes. Hello, Gunther. Welcome. How are you?"

    --------

Several feet away from her fellow god of war, Mars, Bellona was lounging on her throne carefully inspecting an Imperial Gold knife she had been recently gifted by Vulcan, bless his dear heart, as a thank-you for getting him out of a speck of trouble recently. Something to do with rogue Cyclopes trying to steal extra materials from one of his many storage facilities scattered around the United States -- she'd gone down and taught them a bit of a lesson, oh yes she did.

To her satisfaction, the handiwork put into the knife was perfect -- as expected from the god of the forge himself, but Bellona could never be sure. Her eyes, hawkish and narrowed as she turned the blade towards the light to see her reflection, scanned it for any flaw in the metal. None to be found. Sheathing it, the war goddess yawned and pulled up the sleeve of her leather jacket to look at the watch: barely noon now. Olympus' doors had just opened to the children not even half an hour ago, and already they poured into the throne room. Perhaps, compared to some of the other gods, she was sorely underdressed in her leather jacket, combat boots, leather pants, white tank top -- but she had admittedly forgotten that the solstice visit was today, so she had had to rush when Mars called to ask her why she wasn't there for Juno and Jupiter's (J Squared, as she called them) biannual lecture on how to treat their children. Ha. What irony.

With a yawn, the goddess glanced around the room, immediately picking out several faces she knew: a few legacies of hers, one or two kids. A tall girl in a purple sundress, wearing large golden hoop earrings and a matching necklace, seemed to be admonishing a boy standing meekly next to her; with a frown, Bellona tried to dig through her mind for a moment for the name. Something with a T. Tammy? Terra? No, more like... Tanzania? Yes, that was it. She had checked up on her only a few days ago. [ooc: cue eye contact or w/e]

Mercury had lots of packages to deliver today -- for some reason the gods had begun giving out gifts for summer solstice instead of just winter? Strange, strange. He didn't know why but he didn't question it, really; they always made weird decisions, but at least it made their kids happy. Christmas in June, anyone?

The god sat cross-legged on his throne, leaning forward with his elbows on his thighs as he glanced around, eyes darting quick as lightning at all the people around the room. He didn't have as many kids in Camp Jupiter as he did when in his Greek form, as Hermes, but the Romans weren't so open about having so many children (which was probably why they had New Rome, to preserve legacies) and he certainly wasn't sure how great of a reputation he had among the few children and legacies he did have there in Camp Jupiter. Not very good, surely. He tended to leave their mothers very fast, as fast as his reputation would allow, because what was the point of getting so attached? Not much. He was a busy god, this one.

But there was one boy who detached himself from the crowd of children milling about, looking very frightened and unsure of himself as he looked around the room -- and then, as soon as he laid his eyes on Mercury, began to move towards him. With raised eyebrows, the god watched as the boy, clearly one of his kids if he even dared to go towards him, made his way over and whispered a greeting to him. What was his name? Surely he had checked on him once? Something with a P. Phillip was a common name, wasn't it? Close enough. "Gotta speak up, sunshine, it's getting crowded in here." He chuckled to himself before continuing: "Anyway, hello there, son. Nice meeting you. Haven't seen you at any Olympus visits before. First time?"

Oh, how wonderful it had been to talk to Ceres and Kore once again! Feronia hadn't seen the latter goddess in months thanks to that dratted  deal with Pluto regarding their marriage, nor had she really had the time to talk to her in the past season. So much to do around spring and summer, what with the harvests and the hibernating animals returning and -- all of that. There were many other gods and goddesses of nature and harvests and abundance and health and all to talk to, but she liked talking to the two because they just seemed so pure in their intentions. Rarely had she seen them actually get into petty spats with other gods, as they were all very prone to doing. The duo didn't seem to mind Feronia, for all her blunt and rather unrestrained outbursts and general all-around personality. (Goddess of wildlife and untamed nature being a bit harsh? Hardly the most surprising thing.)

For the moment, Feronia sat on her throne and was surveying the room for nothing in particular, noting with particular amusement how few of the demigods and legacies she really knew. She had very few descendants, enough to make her wonder whether it were worth actually coming to Olympus for solstice visits (even though Jupiter had decreed them mandatory, to show the children goodwill as if they all weren't already aware how little the gods could pay attention to them). Folding her arms across her stomach, she let out a sigh and leaned back on her throne, brushing a strand of curly black hair behind her ear as she awaited either the bell signalling the end of this solstice visit to ring or someone to speak to her. Vesta had already come by to offer her tea, which Feronia had politely declined since she had already taken some that morning for breakfast. (Bless her heart.)

As her eyes drifted across the room, the goddess stopped suddenly upon seeing a very familiar face -- but she couldn't quite recall the girl's name. If Feronia recognized her, then surely she must know her? Perhaps, perhaps. She didn't quite check up on her descendants and very few children as much as Juno and Vesta and the other family-related gods asked everyone to, which never really worked in her favor when she tried to interact with someone on Olympus. But for the moment, she sat and watched the girl, tapping her chin as she waited to see her reaction to the goddess' gaze.

Okay, not what Vino was expecting from the god of parties and wine, but it'll have to do. "Camp? Camp is real good, Pops. Nothing to complain about." He smiled slightly at his father, shoving his hands into his pockets and darting his eyes from his father's to the ground then back again. "How are things for you? Enjoying yourself?" Vino asked, making small conversation. He was hoping that Colten was having a better time with Cupid than he was with Bacchus.
    ---
Chowilawu did as he was told and stood from his humbling position and smiled at his father. He had hair like he did; black and long. "Uh, my new life? It has been a bit depressing, father. One moment I'm hiding in the Lotus Pub next I find myself here with the majority of my people dead." He stated, staring his father in the eye as a sign of respect. The Native American took in a deep breath and looked over at the freshwater fountain. "And I have barely any control of the powers that you gave me, father." Chow added, looking back at him. "Some people are frightened by who I am just because of you, but I don't understand why. You control the Great Water which means that you have an abundance of food. You're the keeper of the freshwater which means people have something to drink and yet, your temple in the village they call Camp Jupiter is small." He knitted his eyes together, glaring down at the marble floors.
    -----
Günther smiled slightly and nodded at her. "I'm...good, mother. How are you?" He asked. So far so good. He walked a bit closer to her throne, feeling the aura of power radiate from her body. She was different than excepted, more chilled and not as uptight as he would think the goddess of truth to be.
    ----
Tanzy gave one more once over before meeting eyes with her mother. Her heart nearly exploded out of her chest when she saw the famous goddess herself. "Come on, Alex. I see her." She whispered to her boyfriend, walking up to her throne and smiling slightly. "Hello, mother." She moved some strands of hair out of her face before continuing. "How are you today?" The one thing that Tanzania really enjoyed about her mother was the fact that she was the only goddess to initially have a temple in Camp Jupiter.

Eve walked into the hall of her parent and smiled to herself. Her dyed hair was in a high ponytail as she fixed her outfitshe chose to wear to see her father and grandmother. It was going to be a fun solstice for her and there was nothing that was going to ruin it. When she saw her father she grinned and ran towards him, her boots making soft pats on the floor. She was super excited to get to meet her father, Vulcan, and hoped he felt the same way about her.Hello father.Evangeline said with a smile.

horace smiles and nods while giving a little shrug. "i think i'm past my growth spurts, but a few extra centimetres are always welcome, i think." he says and chuckles. "is my step-mother after me again?" he asks and grins with something of mischief. "i should bring her flowers next time i come."

Leandra almost got left behind by Tiberia and Demicus after the stepped off the elevator. This was her first time on Olympus, because of many ill timed comments or eagle riding accidents. The last winter solstice she spent in the infirmary under observation for a concussion. Now she got to see it, though, and it was beautiful. More gorgeous than she had ever imagined, even if it was mostly Greek in design.

The small Roman shook her curly hair trying to clear the wonderment off her face. She caught up with Tibby and they walked, but really she just wanted to explore the entire area. A lot. Forget the gods. Well, she wasn't sure about meeting her mother anyway. It had been almost 15 years and she had never met her. Why did it matter now? She had argued the entire trip to New York about whether or not it mattered. She still wasn't sure.

So she approached the throne room. Like Tibby, she had also dressed up from her usual outfits. A white button down blouse with gold buttons, black slacks and a pair of sensible flats. Her hair was down from it's pony tail, natural curls bouncing all the way down to her shoulders. She had even put some jewelry on, gold earrings and a gold chain necklace.

The three entered the throne room, and Leandra was too overwhelmed to notice where the twins went. She had seen Juno and Mars when they came to camp, but they were the only gods she had met, and never at full size. Fifteen feet tall, towering and imposing in their seats. She looked down instinctively, then forced herself as a Roman to look back up. She looked around to see if she could find Angerona, her mother, whatever she looked like.

OOC: I'm not even sure you'll need to do anything about Alex xD

BIC: Phil started questioning if he needed to bow. He decided not to, since his father had tried to pick up a friendly tone. The first thing that hit Phil was that he liked to call people "sunshine". Only he did when he wanted to anger them or piss them off. Mercury legit wanted to be frirndly. But that was part of the problem. Phil never really knew what to expect of the day he'd meet his father, and he wasn't sure how to react. Surely he was legit not cold, but he gave off the vibe he said that to everyone that visited, like a tape or something like that. He decided to speak louder. Besides, when would he get the chance to speakto him again? And well, Mercury did sort of recognise him as a different person than his other sons, so he didn't do it half-heartedly. He had to reply to, didn't he? "Uh... yeah, probatio and all that" he really had no idea. What could one discuss with a God?

"Nothing to complain about, eh? Strange. There's always something to complain about." With a chuckle, Bacchus leaned back in his seat again with a slight sigh. Oh Jupiter, sitting up was such a hassle. "Am I enjoying myself? Probably not. There's too many people in here, it's too warm and I can get claustrophobic. Had to pass up a nice little wine-tasting to come here, but eh. Supposed to be worth talking to my kids, eh? Usually they either yell at me for not helping 'em when they were little kiddies or come for explanations about that." Thanks, Jupiter. Really helps the familial atmosphere, when the parents barely know their kids' names and histories. At least a lot of them actually wanted to be better parents than they were back in the time of the original Roman Legions.

    -------------

Neptune just smiled at his son, pulling his hand out of the water -- still dry, just the way he liked it. "Powers? Oh, well, you can't be expected to know how to use them immediately. Practice takes time, some people get better control naturally than others -- but you'll be fine." A pause to breathe, before the god of the sea continued on: "And don't think people hate me -- they don't. They're afraid, but only because they don't understand. The Romans aren't exactly naturals at seafaring, but I'm sure as people get to know you, they'll stop feeling that way. Romans these days are much less prejudiced than the ones back in the age of old Rome and your time, it seems."

He patted a spot next to him on the edge of the fountain, shifting over slightly to make room. "Here. Let's sit and talk."

    --------------

"Oh, you know. Surfing the internet, always very fun." Veritas gestured to the laptop, whose corner stuck out of the open flap; one could see the battery light blinking if they stared long enough, but she didn't need to worry about charging it. After all, Vulcan had arranged for some type of strange, ever-powered battery to be installed, bless his heart. "So few people like to fact-check, it physically pains me to read some of the things they say." This morning's main topic had been about dogs. Seriously. Were there no veterinarians to correct those heathens on what dogs can or can't eat?

    --------------

Bellona smiled at the duo, although she certainly didn't know who the boy was -- definitely not one of her many descendants, surely, or else he'd look slightly familiar. But if he was with one of her children, then shooing him away would be rather... out of the question. "Oh, I'm wonderful today, thank you for asking. Mars and I were having a wonderful time practicing our javelin throwing before this. How have you been? I haven't been checking on everyone as much as I should have, really, what with my training and weapon maintenance and managing mortal wars."

Sitting in his wheelchair for the past three hours, Vulcan hadn't been exactly staying alert; in fact, he'd been half-asleep by the time Evangeline approached him, head drooping slightly down to his chest before bobbing up again. Ha. He'd stayed up all night working on some weapon repairs for Mars and Bellona, who apparently could not help breaking some of their less precious swords and spears and whatever whenever they chose to practice-spar with each other. The damage hadn't been too bad, but really.... Could they not try murdering each other for "fun?"

The god had woken up late today, having fallen asleep in his workshop again at probably three in the morning; Vesta, bless her heart, had come over to check on him and make sure he got to Jupiter's pre-Olympus visit meeting on time, forcing him to gulp down ambrosia and hastily throw on a red flannel shirt and jeans before rushing over. And so there he sat by the foot of his large throne, half-falling asleep until....

    "Hello father."

Vulcan didn't jump up -- no, that wasn't his style. He just grumpily lifted his head, squinted at the girl for a moment, and then sighed and leaned back, shifting to make himself more comfortable in his chair. "'Ello there, you. Welcome to 'lympus. How're you? And whatever other things a dad's s'pposed to ask for your first 'lympus visit."

Jupiter just frowned in response, shooting a side-glance at Juno's throne; she had vacated the vicinity, it seemed, but he was sure she was lurking nearby. Maybe near the snack table the gods had set up for the children? He knew she didn't like being around whenever he talked to his children since she probably would try to kill them, but that was better for everyone: if she were around she'd have to be restrained, and if she had to be restrained it took more than three gods to do it -- and that wasn't even accounting for the potential damage to be inflicted on his precious, precious throne room. "For your sake and mine, don't try to speak to her. I doubt even I'd be able to prevent her from killing you if she got close enough."

Lord Volcazar wrote:Leandra almost got left behind by Tiberia and Demicus after the stepped off the elevator.

She looked down instinctively, then forced herself as a Roman to look back up. She looked around to see if she could find Angerona, her mother, whatever she looked like.

Nobody really had tried to talk to Angerona, but then again -- few people ever try anymore. Goddess of silence and all. How could people forget? Sitting there on her throne, she had been flipping idly through an olde English text on something about religion, the pages frayed and yellowing and some of the text smudged from what was probably water damage. One of the other goddesses had loaned it to her so she could occupy herself during Olympus, knowing that Angerona had few descendants and probably wouldn't come up to see her.

Dressed in a light-blue button-down shirt and dark blue jeans she had just thrown on before coming to the throne room, she was expecting to be able to bounce as soon as the summer solstice visit ended; a casual walk in a park had sounded nice today. Stuck inside, though, she was growing rapidly tired of sitting in the same place for hours on end. A quick glance upward, towards the surrounding crowds of children trying to talk to their parents, told her she'd have a long while to go. Crowds of heads bobbing about, laughing... nobody who looked familiar, really. The ding of the elevator drew her attention over to the entrances, where another crowd of children poured out, and....

Hm. Someone did look familiar, didn't they? Girl in white blouse. The face definitely reminded her of someone, but she couldn't exactly rem-- no. Wait. Leah.... Leanne.... Leandra. Yes. Angerona had forgotten about her, hadn't expected her to come probably. But there she was. With a frown, she leaned forward and concentrated for a minute, staring intensely at her.... What was that spell Trivia had taught her? For telepathy. Something like "[insert incantation here]" and then the goddess was trying to send her a mental message: Leandra?"

This may sort have sounded like the god hadn't been watching over his son, but it was sort of different from actually getting the facts from Phil himself. Spying on his kids made Mercury feel fairly awkward; plenty of other gods had few qualms peeking in on their kids, but he was slightly afraid that he might see something he shouldn't have and have to brush it off if the kid in question ever visited him.

    "Leandra?"

She heard the question clearly in her mind, and her wolf senses told her someone was looking at her. She glanced around until she saw a woman, pale compared to her, but with dark flowing hair, and a confused but concentrated look on her face. The goddess was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans, which was not what Leandra had expected. Her mother had always been portrayed in robes or a dress... But then Jupiter was rarely portrayed in a business suit.

Leandra cleared her throat. "Mother?" She bowed her head, taking a deep breath. She didn't know quite how to react. The girl had quite a bit of resentment built up towards Angerona and the "power" to take people's pain on herself, or the inability to tell secrets. It was a load of responsibility she never wanted to have, and at times she felt like she was going to explode from it. At the same time, she wanted acceptance and love from her. She had seen some with getting the backpack a month earlier. "Um. Thanks for the backpack."

"Well, Pops I have nothing to complain to you about." Vino stuffed his hands into his back pocket as he listened to his father complain about having to see his children. "Y'know, that's one thing about some of the gods out there. If you didn't want children, then why not do what us mortals do and use protection? I mean no disrespect, Pops, but if you me to go, just say so. I'm not going to stand here and beg for your attention." Yeah, Vino was a little hurt, but he knew that the Roman gods were gonna be a little more sterner so he simply sucked it up.

It was one thing to be excited to see someone for the first time, it was another to be excited and ruin something they were doing. Eve was kind and gentle, that was what made her like able.

Oh? Had the spell actually worked? Angerona would have to send Trivia a fruit basket, then, for helping her out so much. It had saved her the hassle of writing on a whiteboard with Expo markers the entire Olympus visit -- and she had the absolute worst handwriting anyone had ever seen, even compared to the likes of Vulcan and Mars who were much better at solely thinking than writing things down.

Ah? Hello, Leandra, it's nice to see you. Another pause as Angerona tried to get her bearings, not used to such a form of communication; whenever she had to talk to the other gods, she just relied on hand signals, sign language, or writing things down to get her point across. (It made arguments terrible to go through, however.) You're welcome for the backpack, dear. I'm sorry for not being able to give you much attention, but -- Jupiter's rules. No random malfunctions or anything from it, right? Sometimes Mercury's bag isn't fully secure, magic potions get spilled, the like.

"S'not that we don't want you kids," Bacchus replied grumpily, folding his arms across his chest, "but that they don't try to look at things from the gods' point of view. Has to be some good reason for one parent to abandon yeh, right? We're not all terrible people, you know, some things we just can't help and after hundreds of years of it you get tired of hearing the same things over and over."

    -------------

"Water doesn't have to be destructive," Neptune replied, folding his arms across his chest. "But I would suppose at camp they'd try to encourage your more offensive ones than your more passive ones, owing to how concentrated they are in military strength. Take some time outside of training with your fellow cohort members and others to see what you can do -- healing, perhaps, is a common power among the water demigods. Have you tried for that?"

    --------------

Veritas shrugged in response. "I do all of that occasionally, too; I only go on the internet when I get bored and need a good laugh. Mortal affairs are always... interesting to look at." But then again, any god who even had the slightest interest in humans would say that. She certainly wasn't a special snowflake for that. "Has everything been going well at camp? No issues there?"

    --------------

Aah, legacy of Mars and son of Discordia? Interestingly ironic combination. Bellona would have to tease them both about that when Olympus let out. "Well, I'm sure you won't have to wait much longer to be part of the legion, Tanzania. You do have impressive skills, after all."

Bellona turned her gaze to Alexander, giving him a wary once-over -- he didn't look like he'd be a real threat to anyone's safety, although his meekness was certainly in stark contrast to how open Tanzania was. Perhaps it was being on Olympus, however, that he was acting like this today. "And hello to you, Alexander. All going well for you too?"

No. I'm jus' sleepy -- worked too late at the forge, fell asleep there and had to rush over here. My fault for 'is, not yours." And now his foot felt like it was about to fall asleep, Jupiter have mercy on his soul. He just couldn't catch a break today, could he? "But seriously, kid. How're you?"

Jupiter's rules. Their high god, Jupiter and his stupid rules. Leandra felt a rage of resentment spur up in her towards the lord of the air. "No. No random malfunctions. At least not yet." Leandra said, pulling it off her back and pulling her helmet out to demonstrate, rather than complaining about Jupiter's rules. Over the past few years she had wanted to say so much about the feeling of isolation, never getting acknowledged from her mother. And now it boiled down to two words. Jupiter's rules.

There was still everything else she felt. The pressure of holding secrets. The taking of pain and suffering from others, which left her shaken for hours at the least, and sometimes days. The feeling that she was slowly going out of her mind. "How do you not go insane? How do I not go insane?"

Kendall wrote:Oh, how wonderful it had been to talk to Ceres and Kore once again!

Tiberia met the goddess's gaze and stopped in her tracks. These eyes... They glowed like coals, like lava, and seemed to burn right through her retinas and into her brain. She swallowed. Maybe she should just turn around and pretend she was simply looking for the bathroom, however Decimus and Kaeso were nearby so she gathered her courage and moved forward. Can't let my little brothers down. She had recognized the goddess thanks to the statue and mosaics in her home, mainly because of her crown of red berries. Apart from that, she looked nothing like the solemn depictions she was used to: the goddess had flowing black hair, curly like hers but full of knots, as if she had forgotten to brush it in the last few days. She was dressed in outdoor clothes -- The North Face or Jack Wolfskin, Tiberia couldn't quite tell -- hiking boots at her feet and a backpack next to her throne, as if she had just taken a break during a trek up the mountains.
As Tiberia moved closer she started getting feelings, memories, recollections, tastes and scents from her times in the wilderness: the rambles with her family in the trails of Colorado, skiing in New Mexico, her trip to Sonoma Valley, hunting with Lupa and her wolves, hell, even the walk from Nevada back to Camp Jupiter she had done with Darren that winter...

Tiberia knelt at the foot of Feronia's throne. It was made out of dark basalt columns which shimmered with dangerous heat, as if the inside of the throne was still churning lava. She wondered if the goddess would provoke a mini volcanic eruption in Pantheon if she somehow made a wrong move.

Keeping her gaze down respectfully, Tiberia tried not to feel too tiny. She wondered how this room wasn't bursting out of the sheer power inside it -- so many gods in one place!

"Ave, my lady. I'm Tiberia Flavia Scipia, one of your descendants," she started, her voice thankfully steady. The hard marble was ice cold beneath her knees and she didn't know if she was allowed to look up at the goddess or not. The deities of Olympus were quite touchy, after all, and Roman gods liked rules to be respected.
Which Tiberia backed, just, not all the time. She guessed it was one of the things she just had to inherit from both Neptune and Feronia, none of the two liked to be contained, and neither did she. She liked to rebel, to question orders and back talk to people. Let's hope it wouldn't get her vaporized today.

Vino thought for a moment before responding to his divine father. "Well I'm here to complain about anything, just to meet my dad and establish some type of relationship. I'm not looking for you to pat me on the back or take me to a baseball game. " He explained, usually a couple of hand gestures. "If all you know is my name, then I'm completely fine with that."
    ----
The son of Neptune cocked his head to the side slightly, thinking. "No, no. I haven't tried that yet, father. Hm, well, I know what to work on." He smiled slightly and played with his braid. "I, uh. I'm glad I got to meet you. I'm very grateful." Chowilawu smiled kindly and looked over at Horace talking to his father. "H-how do you feel about your brother, Jupiter? I hear that you two don't get along really."
    -----
"Ah, okay, I see." Gunther crossed his arms over his chest and stepped a little closer to her. "Camp? It's been fine. I've been hanging out with Tiberia and Leandra a lot. We're all in the same cohort." He stated, then cleared his throat. "I'm in a relationship." He said in nearly a mumble.

Tanzania grinned, blushing at her mother's compliment. "That really means a lot especially coming from a war goddess. The war goddess." She waited for Alexander to introduce himself to Bellona. This was going much better than expected.

"How intricate?" Vulcan asked her, tapping his fingers on the armrest of his wheelchair. "Fantasy-genre sword intricate, or fancy like rapiers and all? Remember to go for practicality and not prettiness; you don't know how many of your siblings have had a handle break on them because they just wanted to make it look like somethin' out of a fantasy movie. Not fun to watch."

Should he even address his daughter's romantic life? He was no good at that.

Oh, this question. It was one Angerona herself didn't like to think about too much if she could help it, but... her duties called -- or shrieked, more like -- for her attention. Centuries upon centuries of doing her job had probably hardened her to the harsh realities of her work, but the same could not be said for her poor, poor child, who'd only have at most one hundred and ten or so years to figure out how to handle what she had inherited from her mother. Even then, that was being optimistic....

It was hard at first, Angerona admitted to her with a sigh. As a new goddess I had little idea how to handle it, but -- I'd been born to do it and so I managed to get used to it fairly fast. But as for you -- I'm sorry this had to happen to you, but godly genetics are so... fickle. None of us know what any of our children will get in that lottery, or how they'll react to it. She paused for a moment to collect her thoughts, noting to herself that most of the advice she could give to Leandra might not ring true for her, seeing as a goddess was definitely different from a demigod and that the mortal part of her daughter, the more conscientious part, could definitely snap under the weight of her inheritance. Angerona could see it happening.

For you, Leandra, perhaps anything I say may not help you; as a goddess this has all become routine to me, taking on pain and secrets to even my own detriment. But I will say that over time, it is possible for you to learn -- or to develop endurance -- to the pain you feel when you use your powers to take on others' suffering, and even to the feeling of illness you get if you try to release secrets. It takes time, and unfortunately a bit of practice too -- yet I've seen it done before with other children and descendants of mine, and I'm confident in your abilities to say you can do it too. I will not tell you to stay away from others to avoid this, nor will I promise things will get better very soon. It depends mostly on how you react to these things as they happen and whether or not your spirit can withstand such beatings. Pain ends -- don't let its mere memory drag you down in the future.

"Complain about anything, eh? That's my boy, s'all I do outside of partying and playing games with the other gods." Bacchus chuckled, scratching his chin as he dug around his miind for another way to direct the conversation. "Don't like baseball, though. Maybe rugby or soccer. You like sports? Maybe I should send you a nice little gift around Christmas or somethin', I dunno. What do kids even like these days? Tamagotcho? Nintendo 3D?"

    ------------

"Same as any brotherly relationship, really," Neptune sighed. "He's the older one, I the younger and less powerful. Sometimes we agree, sometimes not -- it depends on what we're discussing. For example, we both agree the western United States needs more rain, but we can't agree on how to go about it before the drought begins to do more damage." With a shrug, the god put his hand back into the cold fountain water and let it lap up against his wrist, the sound of the water flowing in to the pool vaguely soothing to him -- like waterfalls in South America. "Have you met any relatives of yours? On the godly side, perhaps, or even mortal."

    ------------

Well, Veritas certainly had no idea who these Tiberia or Leandra persons were, but she did catch what her boy had just said about being in a relationship. She was no Venus or Cupid when it came to these sorts of things, but it was still interesting to know about her descendants' lives. "Aah? For how long, if a mother may pry? And may you give me a hint as to who it might be?"

    ------------

"Aah, well. I watch my children for prowess and to make sure they're not dead. Many are pleasing, some not so much -- but regardless, I still find ways to be proud of them." Oh, motherly Bellona -- how funny. As a war goddess prowess in battle was a trait above all others, but even she knew that not all of her children were going to meet those expectations. The Fates were funny that way, and nothing anyone said or did would steer them away from being ironic little old fuddie-duddies.

Aah. So one of her descendants. The girl's voice and face and name all seemed vaguely familiar, as if Feronia had perhaps gazed upon her once before -- but seeing as she hadn't been able to put a name to the face, perhaps her memory was weak in that area. She had so few descendants -- and most of them were very distant at that -- to even look upon that she hadn't expected anyone to actually come to Olympus anymore to see her.

Scipio. Scipio. Where have I heard that name before? In her mind's eye, very distantly, she saw the vague image of a man with curly blond hair -- but that was no help. She couldn't even identify him by his first name. Curse her memory and time.

"Rise, child," the goddess instructed serenely, gazing down upon the girl's head as she tried to dig through the centuries for someone who looked like her. If she recognized Tiberia's voice, she must have definitely prayed to her in recent times (though whether Feronia actually responded was up for debate, seeing as she usually was out in the wild skipping around with Kore or some other nature god). "And welcome to Olympus, Tiberia. It's very nice to see one of my descendants; I have so few, after all, that I'm beginning to forget who they are if they don't pray to me occasionally. But tell me -- you have been praying to me, yes? Perhaps during the wars? How is your family faring?"

Tiberia rose and lifted her gaze to meet the goddess's. The glow of might in her eyes would send quite some mortals running, but Tiberia steeled herself and kept it up.

"Yes, I often pray to you," she admitted. It was her habit to sometimes carry a piece of coal with her during the day and burn it in the evening during her prayer, since Feronia was also a goddess of fire, or to light candles around the statue they had of her in their atrium.

However, her next words stung a bit. How is your family fairing? That answered her questions: Feronia was not checking up on the Scipio family. She was probably too busy hanging out in the woodlands, provoking some natural disaster here and there to give her descendants a glance. It shattered her dreams of, Maybe she's watching me right now she had had during the battles; the thought had always given her renewed motivation. But now?

"My family is doing great, my lady, actually I'm here with my two brothers," she gestured at Decimus and Kaeso standing behind her. Kaeso was standing behind his older brother, the twelve years old trying to smoothen his carefully trimmed blonde curls with his hand while nervously looking at the ground. He looked like his dearest wish was to melt into the floor. Tibera couldn't blame him, the gods were ... gods, after all. They commanded respect and you couldn't help but feel tiny and meaningless in their presence.

Then she crossed her arms and lifted her chin a bit. "How have you been fairing?" she asked. "There are no legends about you I can keep up with nowadays and you barely make any appearances on Vulcan TV."
