"You're crying." Gwen wiped away his tears as they fell. "Is this truly what you want?" Gwen felt tears well in her eyes not quite ready to spill over.

"For the moment, I suppose it," he answered.
"Serious relationships at such a young age seem to freak me out a little. I think I need a little time to mature first." Shrike walked over to the window and stared out into camp.
"But I dont know. Maybe in the future I can try again. Dont wait up for me though, if you become interested in someone else, dont get hung up on me and let the memory of me get in the way. Be sure to have fun no matter what you do!"

She didn't really have interest in anyone else or want anyone else for that matter. Gwen has never been one to dwell in negativity or in sorrow. If he wouldn't be happy with her oh well. At least that's what she was telling herself to cope.
"I guess I'll see you around the cabin and at the wedding." Gwen turned to leave the bunk and the man she was forbidden to love yet did so much.

Shrike sighed, watching as Gwen turned out of his room, and as he did, something began to eat at his chest. Something deep and primal. Shrike's head burned, and he knew what he needed to do. Shrike locked his eyes onto Gwen, and jumped from his chair, launching himself at Gwen and grasping hold of her, pulling her back into his room. Shrike slung her against a wall and pushed himself against her, grasping at her hips with one hand and onto her hair with the other, diving in for a kiss. After a few seconds, he pulled away and stared her in the eyes, his own eyes half lidded with a sly smile.
"F*ck it, its worth it. You're f*cking gorgeous and brilliant. I'd be insane to give you up."

Gwen went from shock to a dizzy haze after Shrike man handled her out of the blue, but she wasn't complaining. "Are you saying..asking what I think you are?" After everyone that they've been through was it finally happening. She felt as though it was almost too good to be true.

"Yes sure, f*ck it. I cant be bothered to fall victim to this childish fear. If this works then hooray, bloody brillinat! If it doesnt, then at least we'll have had fun along the way, and we lost nothing. You're too good to let my fear override my happiness," Shrike smiled, diving in for another kiss, squeezing Gwen tighter.

She held her hand to his lips "Still gotta ask the question." Gwen grinned she could not believe Shrike was actually going to over come his fear and stop being a womanizer, all for her. Gods almighty was she dead, or dreaming? Or was this real? "Please be real" she thought to herself.

"I dont know how this is gonna work out, but trying something new is worth a shot. Let's enjoy the ride and see where it takes us," Shrike grinned, nipping at her neck before letting go of her, moving back over to the window and gazing out into the sky.
