I frowned, "Why do you say that? Do you have other siblings with powers or something?" I wondered aloud. It was always kind of difficult for me to remember that others had problems too.

"Yeah some of them do...the ability to make others fall in love but I never really saw it as important..." I lied petting the pegasus slowly. It seemed like everybody here could do something special and I was just...me.

"Well think of it this way," I started, attempting to make her feel better. "Your mother is a minor goddess, while my father is an Olympian... So its much more upsetting that I have missed his blessing than..." I stopped, "Sorry... it's not sounding good... I kinda... I'm not good at talking." I confessed. "I'm just gonna stop." I decided openly.

I giggle softly and smile. "It's the thought that counts...thanks" I said. "We can just talk about something else if you want." I suggest. "Like...the pegasus or something else..." I said not really sure what he would want to talk about.

"Pegasi are cool." I decided. I brushed my hair out of my eyes, and turned to the pegasus I was standing next to. I stroked his muzzle and felt the corners of my mouth rise. "Have you ever ridden?" I asked her.

I shake my head. "Never...I'm never brave enough too." I said and smile. "I usually just come by and feed them apples from the mess hall" I smile and pet mine again smiling at the sudden subject change.

"Do you want to learn?" I asked her. I knew how to fly, but then again I wasn't sure I'd be the best teacher, but I could at least try.

"Okay.... so lets find an easy pegasus." I searched the stalls for the one I had trained on, but stopped. "Unless there is one you want to train with." I offered.

I nodded and looked over the other pegasi. "Mercy." I said, reading the name of the lightly browned pegasi. I smiled and fed her an apple. "Hey girl, remember me?" I asked. Her name suited her, she was very gentle on beginners.

I shook my head, "I'm no son of Poseidon, but I'm pretty good I guess." I said modestly. I opened the gate and led her out slowly. I harnessed the saddle and her reins and stroked her muzzle. "Good girl."

I smiled following him out. "I'll have to give Mercy an apple after this is over" I said and giggle watching him as he put everything on her trying my best to follow with what he's doing.

I went back to the stalls and found the pegasi from earlier, Cookie. I led Mercy to Emily and kept Cookie for myself. Using Cookie, I demonstrated the basics. "Okay, so the first thing to do... is to get on." I smiled lightly. "But you'll want to mind her wings." I informed her carefully. "So what you want to do is, no matter what side you're standing on, the leg closest to her head goes in the ring of the stirrup." I told her, bringing my foot through the metal ring. "Then you grip the horn of the saddle, and swing your other leg over." I said demonstrating. "Most pegasi are smart enough to know to keep their wings folded until the... driver, i guess is mounted." I told her, "Now you try."

I nodded and followed his lead but somehow I ended up backwards. "Uhh I don't think this is quiet right" I said and facepalmed.

I laughed, "No, you probably used the wrong foot." I told her. "Try starting with the foot closest to her head." I reminded her, smiling. "Try again."

"Okay" I said and slipped off. I tried the other foot and succeeded in getting on correctly. "Oh I did it!" I said happily and giggle.

I smiled, "very good!" I applauded. "Okay, now what you want to do is, take the reins in your hands like this." I instructed, wrapping the reins around my wrists and grabbed them firmly.

I nodded, "Yes. So... now lets go to the basics of movement. To go to a steady trot, you take the reins and flick your wrists, the reins should kind of snap against the pegasi's neck and," as I demonstrated the the pegasi lurched forward slightly and began to move forward slowly. "They will know to move." I told her.

"Okay." I said and did as he said flicking my wrists. "Eep! How do I stop?" I asked as the pegasus started to move and I got more and more nervous.
