Target Practice

I go over to the pile of bows and pick one up as well as a quiver of arrows. Ive never shot this thing before in my life with living in New York and stuff. There is barely any woods there to shoot. But I have seen the Olympics enough times to know what Im supposed to do. I stand almost 20 feet away from the target. I shoot a quick glance over to the girl next to me and position myself like her. I pull back my arrow and let it soar. Sadly it doesn't even come close to the red dot that marks the center of the target. As a matter of fact it doesn't even come close to the target. Instead it found a tree where a wood nymph lives. She looks at me with a horrified face and I yell, "Sorry" to her. She nods and turns around. I try again and again with no successful results. I throw down the bow down in frustration and snap the arrow in half. i hate not being able to do things right. I slump down, groan, and then leave

I walked in and found an empty spot. I prepared my own bow and arrows and started shooting. Some of it reached the center, but some--still--went to other directions. I sat on the ground after shooting approximately 20 arrows. I glanced at a bow and a broken arrow next to me. 'Maybe someone is quite frustrated,' I guessed.

I walked back in I had to try this again I wasn't gonna let myself be frustrated. I had this problem a lot. I reached the Target and saw a girl next to me. I looked at her target and noticed a few arrows had reached the center point. "Hi", I said to her. "Can you teach me how to shoot"

I grabbed hold of my bow and pulled back the string. It soared and landed right in the center dot. I jumped up and down. And let out a totally girly giggle which doesn't happen a lot in my life. "Yayyyy"!!!

I looked at her and replied to her question. "My name is Annabeth Anderson"
"What's yours"

"Well, Its a pleasure to meet you. Thanks for teaching me. I was having a hard time as you can see" I say pointing to the broken arrow.

"Yeah. Well I'm starving so I'm going over to the mess hall for lunch. Do you wanna join me?"

"Sure thing!" I smiled again. "Let's go, then." I left.
