Olivia's Quest

Catos and Shrike both snapped awake and yelled,

"DID SOMEONE SAY BACKUP GUITARIST?!?!?!?!""

"AND DID SOMEONE MENTION THE POSSIBILITY OF WANTING A MALE SINGER?!?!?!?!?!"

Olivia gave a small shriek and sat up. "Just when I decide to fall asleep, you guys wake up!" she said, annoyed.

Olivia nodded resignededly. "True. Sorry, I'm a little cranky."

Olivia laughed a bit. "Now, now, boys. Be nice." Then she remembered something. She rummaged around in her pack for a bit, then pulled out a large, old-fashioned teakettle. "Anyone for Earl Grey?"

Olivia laughed and pushed Catos away playfully. "Hold on, I have to make it first!" She quickly filled the kettle with her water and put it over the fire. "There we go."

Olivia grinned and took the kettle off the fire when it started to whistle. She took three mugs from her bag and poured the tea in them. "I haven't got any milk or sugar, so this'll have to do." She passed a mug to Shrike, then Catos, then picked one up herself. "Cheers!"

Catos and Shrike both joined in the cheers.

I laughed and joined in the toast, but something hurt me. I dropped my teacup, which fell to the ground, crashing. I felt an unbearable pain, like someone was branding me, but it wasnt any physical or mental pain, more like I was being branded in the very soul. Eventually I passed out and surrenered to the darkness.

It had been years, but eventually I had gathered enough positive power to form a temporary link to Shrike. These new friends Amen-Ra had gathered had generated more power in a few weeks than Id had in years. I smiled as Shrikes face etched with the symbol of the Wadjet eye on his right eye. It was only temporary, but it was still the symbol of my presence. Shrikes green eyes glowed gold and seeped out the golden energy that was my power. I spoke to the gathered group,

"Hello all, I havent spoken to you properly yet."

Olivia shrieked again and spillled tea on herself. Something . . . different was inside Shrike. "Holy cr@p!"
