"I can assure you that we will do no such thing," the cop said rather coldly. It was clear to him that the kid was insane and needed immediate mental attention. The dog was quiet now, a miserable heap of fur at his feet. He picked her up. The boy was clearly unable to take care of himself, let alone a dog and a girlfriend. "I'm going to get somebody to help you," he said calmly. It was clear that he must have attacked the girl in some kind of fit. He made a quick call. "He should be here any minute," he informed the boy. "Don't worry about at thing."

"The only way he can help me is by killing me," I whimpered, curling up. "What have I done? Sh-she's dead... I'm a murderer... Send me to jail, please!" I wailed
OOC aww this is making me cry ):

"She's not dead," the cop snapped, losing patience. "Melissa told me she's in a coma. It's likely that she won't wake up, that blow to her head was nasty and there's probably internal damage. At the least, I'd guess a major concussion." This guy was pitiful. His girlfriend was probably going to die and all he could do was feel sorry for himself.

"Wh-what?? Sh-she's n-not dead?" my face lit up a little, and then went ashen. I said nothing. Did nothing.
OOC this guy is cold.

"George?" There was a timid knock on the door and a wizened old man stepped into the room. His eyes widened as he took in the blood and Demetrius hand-cuffed to the bed. "This him?" he asked.
"Yep," the cop said, George. "I'm tellin' you, Derrik, the kid needs help."
Derrik nodded and he took the keys from George and released Demetrius. "Come with me, sonny," he said gently. His grip was like iron, though his tone was reassuring. "It's going to be okay."

I whimpered and backed away in terror. "Let me die..."
OOC wolf, this is so sad!! I'm sobbing!!

Darrik tightened his grip. He might be old, but he was strong. "Let's go, sonny. If you come with me, I promise, you'll feel better. We might even let you see your girlfriend again." If she lives, he thought darkly. George made it sound really awful.

"No..." I whimper. I don't want to live anymore ... And I'll only only end up hurting Aria again," I whimper, but will myself to follow

"That's a good boy," Darrik said encouragingly. He led Demetrius outside and to his car. The pain was peeling, but it still ran well. He opened the door for the lad. "Come on," he said gently.

I got in the car and curled up. I was destined to be alone forever.

"Right," Darrik said, adopting a more professional voice. He shut the door and got in himself, starting the engine. "I'll call the hospital and ask how she's doin'," he told the boy. Don't expect too much though."

I couldnt take it anymore: I hated myself. I began to sob

"Pull yourself together," Darrik said sharply. "Be strong for her shake! She's not dead yet!"

"But she's going to die! I know it!" I cry

"No one knows that right now," Darrik said with false calmness. "Come on, kid. Cry once she's dead. Try to be strong while there's still a chance."

"Kid, whatever happened was not your fault," Darrik said, sternly but not unkindly. "Stop beating yourself up. I'm sure she'll forgive you when she wakes up."

"We'll see about that," Darrik said evenly, as he pulled up to the hospital. "I don't know what happened, but I'm sure she wouldn't want to be alone through this."
