Andromache sat under a small tree reading The Odyssey. She was completey absorbed in the book, searching for any referrences to her mother. It was hard having an immortal as a parent, you never talked to them and there weren't any christmas gifts. The only thing that made them family was the shared blood but that was about it.

I walked into the cabin's courtyard and sighed. I didn't know anyone here... I sat at the edge of the fountain in the center of the yard and removed my lyre from a cord on my shoulder. I closed my eyes lightly and began to play quietly to myself, ignoring the sounds of the courtyard.

Andromache heard the sounds of a lyre and she closed her book. She got up and followed the sound of the music. She played a little piano so she enjoyed the sound of music, especially on a nice day like this. She saw a boy who was playing the lyre, She smiled " your pretty good, how long have you been playing " She asked curiously.

My head shot up quickly, I hadn't noticed anyone approach. "Uhm..." I frowned... what had she asked? I wasn't really paying attention. She was looking at the lyre, so it must have been something about my instrument. "Oh yeah, its a lyre. I've been playing since I was six." I said and returned my gaze to the instrument.

I fiddled with my fingers nervously, even though I was a daughter of Aphrodite, I had trouble being social, it wasn't that I had nothing to say, it was just that I always ended up saying something stupid. I smiled " Thats cool, I've played piano since I was eight, you sound like you know music well, maybe you could give me some tips " I said, I cringed inwardly, hoping that it didn't sound all snobby and aphroditeish .
