by Katy walked into the woods for some quiet. She had already done too much today. She taught a demi-titan a lesson he wouldn't forget, and hauled three half-bloods back to camp, and to the infirmary. She sighed and sat down against a tree, pulling her blood-red hair back into a ponytail. Katy closed her eyes to relax but kept her ears open and listening. She enjoyed the chilliness here, the bitting winds turned her nose and cheeks a soft pink, her long white sweater kept her relatively warm, and her jeans and hiking boots kept her legs and toes from falling away in the cold. Katy removed a few knives from her pockets, incase she needed them.

Zen walked in. He sighed, and looked at his surroundings. Not much different than any other day. He spotted a girl. He walked over to her, a bit sad. "Hey there." He said, glumly. He sat down on the ground next to her.

Katy opened a single eye and glanced at him quickly. "Hey." She said her words void of much emotion. "What's up?" She yawned crossing her arms over her chest, she closed her eyes again, soothed by the darkness.

Zen shrugged. "I just blew it with some girl I kind've liked." He sighed again, rubbing his head. He saw a nymph and waved to it.

"Darn. What a bummer." She sighed, why did people feel the need to come to her for advice? "So'd you think I was a daughter of Aphrodite or something? Sorry dude, I don't mess with love." She said twisting one of her knives between her fingers.

He shrugged. "I didn't ask for help. Stuff happens." He sighed again. "And besides, I'm only 12. She wouldn't like me back anyhow." He said, a little impatiently. He started to draw in the dirt.

"I'm Katy." She said opening her eyes as she turned to look at him. "But take it from me, don't get into relationships too early, they almost all suck. It takes a while to find the right person." Katy informed him pulling her knees closer to her chest.

He nodded. "I'm Zennetus. But, that's a weird name, in my opinion, so you can call me Zen. He said, smirking a bit. He looked at his drawing. It was a picture of him. He nodded, satisfied with his picture.

"So who was the girl you were falling for?" She asked brushing her bangs out of her face with a swipe of her fingers.

He sighed. "Her name was Analeigh." He said, in a gloomy mood again. He added details to his drawing, making it even better.

Katy shrugged, "I've never met her. But don't whine over her... no offense, if she didn't share the same feelings, then get over her she wasn't the right girl, and you'll find someone way better." She assured him, but was suddenly afraid she might have sounded mean.

He smirked. "Thats the best advice anyone could give me." He stood up, examining his drawing. "So, who is your god parent?" He asked, drawing another picture of a random girl who he based off of Katy.

Katy looked up at him and frowned slightly, "Odyne, goddess of pain." She said quietly. It's not that she had an issue with her mother, but telling someone that your mother is the reason everything sucks is kind of a conversation killer.

He nodded. "My mom is Bia, goddess of Force." He said, not noticing her frown. He was too busy drawing. "How do you deal with all of this? He suddenly asked, still focused on his drawing.

Katy smiled slightly, "All of what?" She asked with an arched eyebrow. She returned her knives to her pockets.

He added more detail to the drawing. "This, Demigod stuff?" He said, sighing. "I mean, they abandoned us. Why should we be proud of being their kids? He added, finishing up the drawing. It looked a lot like Katy.

Katy frowned, "I don't think the intend to abandon us." She said cracking her knuckles. "They're gods, they find someone they like, and try to continue their legacy, hope that their child's name might go down in legend. The gods need us. We're like... their diplomats, they can't do many things without us." She said, this was always an awkward topic, but she never really resented her mom for leaving her and her dad, they did just fine on their own.

He sighed. "Well, I'm not giving them any sympathy. My mom let my family die..." He looked away. His sister's laughter rang in his ears. A tear ran down his cheek. He wiped it off and continued to draw. This time, he drew a portrait of him, with his sister, dad, and step-mom.

That always seemed to be a common issue among demigods. Bad things always happened to their families, or happened to them because of their families. "I'm sorry. That really sucks." Katy said, he knew she wasn't good at consoling people, so she didn't try.

Katy studied the drawing he held out... wow. "Wow, that's legit, dude." Katy said admiring his work. She was a sucker for art of any kind.

Zen smiled. "Thank you. My dad taught me a bit." He said, flipping to the next page of the notebook. "Um, would it be okay if I drew you?" He asked, grabbing his pencil.

Katy shrugged, she didn't like being a model, but she figured she'd humor him. "Sure." She sighed running a hand through her hair. "So how long have you been drawing?"

He started to sketch the outline. "Hmm... Since I was 6." He said, creating her body and starting to add to her face.

"Wow. That young?" Katy admired his focus on the drawing and stopped, listening to the noises in the forest... she thought she had just heard something, but brushed it off as the wind.
