"Eventually she'll be better. Mourning is the phase where people feel sorry for themselves and others that you didn't know someone that well. Getting over it is knowing you actually did do something and feeling better. I'm not the best with words, but I hope you get what I'm saying."

"Ya, I guess," I brush myself off when I stand up. "Nice to meet you. Mind you I'm not usually like this so if you expect to see this side of me again, not likely."

Re: The Sandy Beach
Spencer sat on the sand, digging her toes into the sandy grooves. She leaned back and stared at the sky. Her mind turned back to the time when she was seven, running across the beach while on vacation in Florida, that freedom and innocence was so unattainable now, that it hurt,

Re: The Sandy Beach
Shaun walked onto the beach slowly. He had no clue what to do, but scanned the area carefully, looking for something to do. There was one girl that cause his attention for a brief moment over everyone else, but just shrugged off why he did. Why do I even try to do anything outside with... people? He thought to himself. He never felt that he was very good... or good at all at talking to people-- he always ended up being a nervous wreck, not being able to talk to anyone comfortably, yet.

Spencer stood up and briskly brushed the sand off of her sundress. She carefully pulled her dress over her head, revealing a swim-suit underneath. She carefully pulled her hair into a ponytail, making sure not to make it too perfect, she didn't really want to be classified as an Aphrodite kid by people she didn't know. She was constantly trying to fly under the radar.

Re: The Sandy Beach
Shaun decided just to stay alone, so he walked to the brim of the water, taking off his shoes, and keeping his feet in a place such that when the waves come, they barely make its way around his feet. It had always been like this. He never knew what to do with other people, he could hardly talk to anyone at all. Realizing he needed to change, he tried to devise a plan if he were to actually talk to someone, but knew that the bitter truth was that you couldn't plan something like that.

Re: The Sandy Beach
do you have a picture of Shaun ?)
Spencer stared at the water distastefully, it was going to be freezing cold, but then again, it would numb away the pain. She stiffly waded in, then relaxed as she slowly acclimated to the water's frigid temperature. She went deeper and dove down for a minute, then came up to catch her breath. She smiled to herself.

Re: The Sandy Beach
Shaun saw a girl go into the freezing cold water, and started to wonder if she felt how cold it was, or if he was just a wimp, as usual. He caught himself staring and looked away subtly. He tried to think about other stuff like fish and other oceanic topics, but it always came back to thinking about something related to the girl, into something about the girl. Stupid male brain, stop being so stupid. He thought to himself.

Re: The Sandy Beach
Spencer glanced around and blushed when she saw a boy watching her. She waved her hand subtly with a slight smirk on her face. One of the benefits of being a daughter of Aphrodite is that you could look and act like a social butterfly when really deep inside you were socially awkaward.

Re: The Sandy Beach
While trying to non-suspiciously look away from and towards (Yes, this guy was a mess.) the girl, he sees her wave at him. Not something that happens all of the time to him, but he'll accept it. He tries to wave back, but his arm weakens, so when he tries, it ends up just twitching his arm. He can't yell out to her a greeting because... he was always a nervous wreck and could barely talk to people at all, much less embarrass both persons in the 'conversation' and ruin everything.

Spencer walked back to her little spot and grabbed her towel, she dried herself off then plopped the towel on the ground and laid down on it, sunning herself. She reached towards her tote bag and grabbed a pair of sunglasses and slipped them on.

Re: The Sandy Beach
No... he thought I should talk to her... He tried to muster up enough strength to just stand up and talk to her, but he just couldn't. He knew he was a loser since he couldn't even talk to anyone-- much less a pretty girl. Maybe if I stop raising her status so high? he thought, but he knew that no matter what it would at least be hard to talk to her at all-- even if she were actually a guy... then again he wouldn't be attracted to her if she were a guy... probably..?

Spencer yawned as the sun beat down on her skin, creating a false sense of security. She grabbed a magazine from her bag and flipped through the pages absentmindly, nothing really sticking out to her.

Re: The Sandy Beach
Shaun just gave it up, he couldn't talk to anyone, and he felt that he should just embrace it. All of his friends were mortal-- the few that he had. At least... he thinks they're mortal... they could be monsters trying to kill him, but he tried to think better of the people that he talked to since they never did anything to him. Then again, if they were monsters they would have acted earlier... He thinks.

Re: The Sandy Beach
She came over to me... what the heck? He thought. He knew that if he tried to spoke he would stutter the heck out of it so first he went through a very brief 3 second exercise of simply taking a silent, deep breath. "H... Hello.." He says, finally mustering something out of himself. It still went better than he expected, despite the small stutter, but he knows that it will probably get worse as this goes on.

" What are you up to? " She asked, not entirely sure how to make small talk, she was never really that adept at starting a conversation with someone she didn't really know.

Re: The Sandy Beach
"Not... um... not... much... you?" He got out, but he didn't know if he wanted to drag on a conversation. There have been very few people with whom he could actually talk to without stuttering, and it was doubtful she would be one of those people since she's a girl. Girls were a little bit worse with his sutter than guys.

"Just hanging out, being socially awkward" She said with a wink, 'this guy needs to loosen up' she though to herself. Spencer smiled, "So do you come here often?" She asked.

Re: The Sandy Beach
"No... I just got to camp recently..." I tell her, kind of fluently, but I was still bereft of confidence. I didn't even know how to talk, much less carry a conversation. I didn't know what to do other than talk-- but I didn't know what about. My mind was adulterated with years of solitude I couldn't get away from. I think about the first lackadaisical thing to talk about with her, but decide that it was probably a bad idea and forgot about it. 'Gosh, why can't you just say something?' I think to myself. I thought about another thing to ask, and decide to go with, "Do... do you know anything to do around here?" Knowing it was a stupid question, but it was the only thing that popped into my mind that was completely horrible.
