Victoria stalked out of the Apollo cabin, where she had been visiting her (only) friend, Jason. It was carnival today and nearly all demigods were disguised.Victoria didn't give into such things. And even if she did, what should she dress up as? An equation of the fourth degree? A molecule of carboxylic acid? Hah!
She spotted a nearby figure, dressed up in violet and white with orchids on her arms and one in her hair. They were all different types of orchids, none had the same color: some were white fading into violet, some white with purple spots, some totally mauve. It was a beautiful disguisement, she decided.
She recognized the girl, though, it was Jana Kay Robertson from the Demeter cabin. They had come at Camp together, she remembered. Even though Jana Kay wasn't as intelligent as Victoria, she was very nice and always kind with her, and listened politely when she was talking. She had tried to talk with her about plants, but found out they weren't on the same wave length (not the same lambda, she smugly thought): Jana Kay was much more interested in what was better for them to grow while Victoria talked about transgenesis, carencies in vitamines and cross-pollination.
Jana spotted her and waved at her.
" Hi!" Victoria said as she waved back.
