I wish I could do something. But I have no idea what to do. I don't even fully comprehend who these people are or what is going on.

"I.... kind of gathered," i say. Now i feel like an idiot. Angsting over family problems in the past when this poor kid's friend just died. "But..... you know what? Forget it." I mutter. I give up. I am no longer fit for polite society.

I watched her prepare for the song. I really enjoyed her music for some reason. I guess it reminded me of my family a bit. The way he used to play, I reminded myself.

I decide not to go back to the song I had been playing, and pick something at random from my binder. One, by U2. Slowly, I start the intro. "Is it getting better? Or do you feel the same? Will it make it easier on you now, you've got someone to blame? You say one love, one life, when it's one need in the night. One love, we get to share it. Leaves you baby if you don't care for it."

I smiled and hummed along. I want to tell her how amazing she is and how her talents are so beautiful without sounding weird. I glanced over at Percy, still sitting there. I looked back to Amala and watched her fingers on the keys.

I stop in the middke of the song. "Not to sound wierd, or anything, but do you want to sing with me? I can harmonize around you!" Then I blush. I must sound like such a freak.

I simply restart from the chorus, this time singing the harmony part. I feel that familiar rush of harmony adreneline- that special high I get from singing with other people.

I see a change in her face when we begin singing again. Something... special. I give her looks whenever I get a little out of tune. I don't think she really cares though.

I can't help but hear every time the other gorl goes out of tune. But it doesn't matter. Nothing matters except for the music I can never seem to keep bottled up inside.

I kept singing along until the song was done. "I'm going to start over. Hi, I'm Rose, not your usual daughter of Aphrodite. You?" I smiled and tried not to show my extreme uncomfortableness with the situation.
