Name: Lita Gabrielle Douglass, usually just called Lita
Gender: Female
Mortal Parent: Lita was raised by her grandmother Zeta from her father's side. Her dad isn't around to raise her due to, at the age of Lita being five, a monster attacked, and her dad died defending her. Her grandmother Zeta is cruel and uncaring of Lita, blaming her for the death of Lita's dad, Jonah.
God Parent: Khione, goddess of snow
Date of Birth: 6/14/95 (18)
Place of Birth: Hell, Michigan
Hometown: Hell, Michigan (seriously, there's a city in Michigan called Hell)
Last Residence: The last place Lita resided in before Camp Half-Blood was the house of her grandmother Zeta in Bixby, Oklahoma. However, even though she's lived there for years, she still regards Hell to be her hometown, as she often got the feeling she wasn't wanted there.
Race: Lita is white.
Ethnicity: American
Accent: Northern would be the technical term, but in the Upper Peninsula, the accent of the people who live there call their accent “dat yooper accent”, talking with a very northern accent, replacing the with de (pronounced with a flick of the tongue, like the d sound from “Dumb”), they with dey (pronounced “day”) that with dat (like bat), and yeah with yah (pronounced yaw)
Skin Tone: Like most people from the North, Lita's skin is very pale, as it absolutely refuses to tan.
Eye Color: Lita's eyes are icy blue in color, letting her bore holes in you with her eyes.
Hair Color: Ash blonde
Hair Length: Lita has flat hair, that falls to about her shoulders, with bangs that cover her forehead.
Height: Lita is approximately five feet and ten inches in height.
Weight: Lita weighs in at 153 pounds.
Body Type: In a word, Lita has an athletic body. Long and lean, her form is lithe and graceful. Her body has curves to them, but nothing really worth bragging about. Her arms and legs are muscular in a lean, compact way.
Appearance: Lita is long and lean, tough and mean. Her eyes are cold enough that some whom look upon her feel chills running down their spines. Her skin is pale, but not extremely so. As she is a gymnast, her limbs are not heavily muscled, nor are they weak. Her eyes are covered in black eyeshadow that contrasts highly with her pale skin. The nails of her fingers are painted black, and her arms are tattooed. On her right forearm, she has a tattoo of a long, blue snake breaking through a snowflake, and around her left arm, a tattoo of barbed wire, with icicles hanging from it. She usually wears white tee shirts and faded blue jeans, as well as a pair of slip on shoes, also pale blue.
Weapon: Lita has possession of a Halberd named Frost that is about the same height as she is. It can turn into a small ring on her right hand, made of silver, with a falling snowflake pattern etched along the band, both on the inside and out. (note: these are all the things the halberd can do magically, is turn into a ring. All effects described later in the Powers section are Lita using her powers.) The blade, of course, is celestial bronze.
Armor: Lita doesn't really wear armor, preferring to where her regular clothes, as armor has a tendency to restrict her mobility. However, she does have leather armor that covers her chest, but not her belly, and is sleeveless.
Pet(s): None.
Talents/Skills: Lita is a good runner, and has a good ear for music. She also can play bass guitar rather well, and has a unique, spidery writing style that seems almost elven.
Flaws: Lita's got a facial scar from a knife fight that goes across her left cheek, narrowly missing her left eye, and goes on to the top of her upper lip. Also, she has issues trusting people due to her abusive childhood. Also due to her childhood, she has issues with confidence, and trusting in her own abilities. In addition to all this, she has a fiery temper that has a short fuse, and is prone to violently react to people.
Strengths: Lita has a good ear for music, and is naturally flexible due to her gymnastics training. Has impressive strengths of concentration through intense meditation. While slow to trust, she has a fierce loyalty towards those that she does trust. Decent shot at thrown daggers, though it could use work.
Weaknesses: Cold demeanor prevents her from making friends. As time goes on, she will slowly come out of her shell, but it is difficult for her to trust someone completely. Harsh to enemies (or people she doesn't trust for whatever reason) Overly critical of others, as well as herself. Low self esteem. Weaker in hotter weather. She also blames herself for the death of her father, as she doesn't know it was a monster attack.
Likes: Ice cream, for one, is a way to cool her off. Then again, Lita is fond of any cold and/or frozen treat. She also enjoys playing bass guitar, practicing with her Halberd, Frost, and practicing her powers.
Dislikes: Lita has little tolerance of idiocy on anyone's part, including her own. Dislikes her low self esteem. Also has an intense hatred of rap.
Fears: Failure. Failure terrifies her. She's afraid of not being able to do what she has to do to survive or help her friends, if any. Scared of opening up, and someone stabbing her in the back when she opens up.
Personality: Lita is a cold individual to those whom first meet her, and even can seem uncaring to their problems. This isn't really their fault, it's just because she has a difficult time trusting them. As time goes on, however, she will slowly start to open up her shell, allowing only those whom she truly trusts into her heart. Even then, she still has a small sliver of ice in her heart, and finds it nearly impossible to trust someone entirely.
Underneath her icy exterior, pun totally intended, Lita actually can be as warm as a young kitten. This is a side to Lita that just isn't seen by anyone in general, and they need to work in order to get to this side of her. She is more open around those she truly trusts, more willing to discuss what made her so cold, apart from her mother ((PUNS!)), and more emotionally clear. That is, she'll actually express emotion when she opens up.
Powers:
As might be expected, Lita's powers are affected by the weather. The hotter it gets, the less she's able to do. Thus, what she's able to do will be listed in ranges of degrees Fahrenheit. Note that abilities get stronger slightly as the temperature goes down. I am aware of the whole “make it like a story” thing, but to be honest, I thought that this would make the powers more clear for the approvers.
100 degrees: none. Lita is in fact incredibly weak, and isn't as good at defending herself.
90 degrees: reflexes are slower than normal. No powers.
80 degrees: normal reflexes. No powers. Body is cold to touch.
75 degrees: Lita exhales a pale frost. Can create up to 2 (two) slim, 6 inch long, weak ice daggers to throw.
70 degrees: stronger daggers. Snowflakes trail from Halberd when swung.
60 degrees: can create up to 4 daggers. Ground at feet is frosted if she stands there for sixty seconds
50 degrees: Dagger count at 8. ground takes 20 seconds to frost. Can create ice spikes along halberd blade edge (about half an inch in length)
45 degrees: Dagger count 10, frost is left on ground in foot prints unless running. Ice spikes on Halberd are three fourths of an inch.
40 degrees: Frost on ground even when running. Eyes have slight white glow when powers are used. Dagger count 14. Halberd spikes are an inch long.
Freezing (32 degrees):in addition to the above listed powers at 40 degrees, she can also give a small burst of frost crystals from her hands she uses to try and disorient enemies. Eye glow is slightly brighter
Social Status: Loner, Gymnast
Summer or Year Rounder: Year rounder
Years at Camp: new arrival, therefore, she hasn't been at camp for very long.
Life Before CHB: Lita's life was rough before she came to camp. When she was three years old, her father, Alexander, was killed by a monster that came to kill her. The monster was destroyed, but her father was badly wounded, and would not survive longer than a month. Using the time he had, Alexander set up a trust fund for Lita, and sent her to Oklahoma to live with his mother, Zeta. The child was brought to Zeta, who knew nothing of Lita's parentage. After Alexander's death, Zeta became cold, and rather uncaring towards Lita, as she blamed her granddaughter for the death of her son. Lita suffered years of mild abuse. Nothing severe like getting sat on an activated stove burner when she was a child, or cigarette burns on her body, or anything you would hear about on the news. It was more the subtle, can't-take-it-to-the-police-abuse-because-it's-not-”technically”-abuse; Zeta put down Lita a lot, called her worthless. She claimed Lita would never amount to anything, and emotionally manipulated Lita to where even she believes that she is responsible for her dad's death, and her mother leaving him. And so years passed, and Lita began to develop an emotional shell around her, merely to protect herself from her grandmother's emotional attacks. When she was 16, against the disapproval and negativity from her grandmother, she joined the gymnastics team, and started to train her body. At the age of 17, her grandmother insisted for Lita not to go with the Gymnastics team to compete, and if she went, Lita wouldn't have a home to go to. Lita's response was the first time she dared to backtalk Zeta in years. She looked her in the eyes, and said simply, “I already have no home to go to,” before she turned, and joined the gymnastics team. When she returned to Zeta's house, what little things she had been allowed to own was in a small, 24 inch by 24 inch box (mostly a couple extra sets of clothing, one extra set of clothes, and one book: The Odyssey). Taking the box, she left to see her gymnastics teacher, who, as it turned out, was a satyr. He gave her advice, her ring, Frost, which he explained was a gift for her from her mothr, and a bus ticket to Camp Half-Blood. When she got off the bus in New York, Lita was determined to make a new start.
Role-playing Example: Lita frowned as she sat in the bus, and looked up from her copy of the Odyssey. This bus was quiet... almost too quiet for her liking. She rubbed the ring on her finger, feeling the rough engravings on the band. Frost, the satyr said it was called... Interesting. She never knew her mother... yet the old goat claimed it was from her mother. Lita wondered what that meant... She didn't recall any ice queens in mythology... As she sat there, the demigod wondered what the chill in the air was. she normally didn't feel those... Then the bus stopped. "What the..." she muttered to herself. The driver cursed, and lumbered off the bus. As he worked on the engine, the girl got anxious.... anxious of what? She had already had difficulty staying put even when the bus was moving... As the girl got up, she heard a rustling behind her. looking, a pair of guys in trench coats, and broad brimmed hats, were standing in unison... that couldn't be good. She moved quickly to the door, aware of the grunting noises the guys made as they shoved other passengers aside. Lita jumped out. Lovely. She was only in St. Louis. She started to run... and run... until she was in an alleyway. She cursed, and turned, and there they were. "Child of snow," one said. "I always liked my meals chilly." He started to grow, becoming bigger, more muscular, till he became a Laistrygonian. His buddy had changed into one as well. Lita twisted her ring, and prayed to her mother, whoever she was, that her ring would turn into a weapon... and it did. whether or not this was because of the prayer, she didn't know, but right now, she held a wicked polearm in her hands. With a yell, Lita charged her enemies.
Notes: Ophelia rebirth charrie. Speaks in white. RP example is a small part of her history, namely her claiming, so we can get the details on that straightened out.
