He noticed she was shivering and handed her a blanket "here, you look cold" he offered.

Jo looked wearily up at the blanket. She hesitated, but after a moment's pause she reached greedily, desperately for the blanket. She was cold. She was so cold...

    "Thanks," she mumbled.

He smiled and watched her "anytime" he replied as he checked her wound again. The infection was slowing, but it wasnt healed yet, and wouldn't be for some time

She closed her eyes in defeat, but sleep usually only resulted in nightmares so she kept them open and stared at the ceiling. There was humiliation in her face; the fight had left her fever-glassed eyes.

Jackson sat back down and could feel sleep heavy on his eyelids, but he did not wish to sleep, and struggled to keep his eyes open and his mind active to stay awake. However, his luck had run out again so it seemed and he fell asleep in the chair

Jackson awoke soon after he had gone to sleep, maybe after an hour or so and looked around to see if anyone had returned

OOC I'd rather not have her continue to be hurt. How about this: how about we skip ahead a couple of weeks, Jo is better and another roller derby match has just ended. Because weeks have past, I would assume that there is snow. What if a monster attacks, Jack gets hurt and stranded in teh snow and Jo comes to his rescue?

Josefina smirked in triumph as the roller derby match came to a close. Weeks had passed since the "incident" with the boy... she couldn't be bothered to remember his name (maybe) and she hadn't seen him since. Just as well, she didn't want to deal with him anyways. She did feel lonelier than usual, though...

Jackson had been approaching the follow derby arena casually on that day, keeping track of the girl ever since she had recovered from the injury she had sustained a few weeks prior. Why did he keep tabs on her if she was healthy? Well, he didn't exactly know but he had been attending her derby races, usually in a disguise or such so he wasnt recognized. This day however, he didn't even make it inside.

Winter had started a weeks ago and already fresh snow covered New York like a white blanket, bathing it's citizens in the frosty surprise that so many kids loved, and adults loathed. Jackson himself loved the snow, it reminded him of his home in Ohio, where snow fell much like in New England year after year. Walking along the paced path up to the arena he had been suddenly ambushed by a monster, who had snapped his bow before he could fire an arrow and then deflected his hunting knives as if they were nothing. Swatted into the snow, Jackson had passed out from the impact.

Now he lay in the snow, the flakes slowly covering him in his jeans and brown, worn jacket. His blond hair stood out against the white of the snow, his bow only a few feet away was snapped in four sections, his quiver hung loose on his body, still full of arrows, and his bag was ripped to shreds, it's contents across the ground.

Well, that's a lie. Jo had seen him since. Every roller derby match. Every single roller derby match he showed up and cheered her on- lord knows why. Especially after the Hell she put him through. He dressed up in all sorts of disguises trying to avoid her sight, but she noticed him. It had been on accident. The first roller derby match after she recovered, she found herself (accidentally) looking for him. And she'd found him. Despite his disguise, she knew it was him. And she saw him at every single roller derby match since, but never said anything about. Not ever. But he was always there.

    Except today.

It was the last game of the season, and there was a part of her that was hoping he'd shown up. But he didn't. Tonight was the one night he didn't show up. She felt sad about that. Sad and something else: worry. Why? She didn't even like him. No... That wasn't true... She just got lonely sometimes. It was nice to have somebody support her. She's forgotten what that felt like.

Josefina was the last to leave the rink, that night. It was dead winter, around 9:30 or 10:00 o'clock at night. It was wet and cold dark. The roller derby rink was located on the outskirts of New York City. This time of night, there was nobody on the road, and seldom few buildings (except for the a gas station and a diner) out for a few miles.

A harsh wind blew. There was something off about all of this. Something wasn't right. Josefina shivered. She saw evidence that a fight had occurred maybe an hour or two earlier, but nothing else.

...except a tuft of blond hair poking out of the snow. Her heart caught in her throat for a brief second. She jogged over to the person in the snow just as the monster made its reappearance.

The giant creature that had knocked jacksonninto the snow for a slow, freezing death had reappeared to finish the job and to devour the demigod. It's skin was slick like ice, but black as coal. Obviously, it wasnt any ordinary monster it resemble that of a giant lizard, not quite a dragon but close...it just seemed deadlier. It had a relatively small size, but it was quick like a pit viper. In the fewest words possible, it was an enlarged black mamba with legs and claws.

Jackson was still out of it, his body temps tire unable to rise to fight off the slow grasp of death through hypothermia, however in his quiver were his neatly labeled trick arrows, each one capable a f a destructive ability, from buckshot all the way to sonic explosion and to poison needle.

The monster was amused that there was in fact another demigod here, he could sniff out the girls scent as easily as any monster could and moved in on her, each reptilian foot crunching into the snow and ice

"Oh you have got to be kidding me[i]!" Jo exclaimed, clearly disgruntled. Here was this massive snake thing lumbering towards her, and all she had to defend herself was a measly central bronze pocket knife. A [i]pocket knife! But, despite no weapon, she still had her powers. And if she'd learned anything at school, it was that cold blooded reptiles don't do so well in the cold. Too bad for it that this little demigod was Chione's kid.

She created an ice-spike and launched it at the greedy reptile.

The lizard snarled as the ice shattered against its glossy skin and jumped, claws out as it attacked her. It was quick, and it's claws dripped with acid as it sliced towards her, attempting to sever her head from her body.

This is what Jo had practiced for: being fast. She still had her roller skates on and could dodge the monster with ease. She got a cut on her shoulder blade but it was nothing major. She skated around the monster; around and around shooting icicles out of her palms.

The monsters skin deflected her attacked until finally, a direct hit pierced his skin and he roared with rage, involuntarily running over Jackson as he ran off into the woods, leaving a trail of green blood along the ground. However, when seersl more cries responded to his, it was obvious the lizard was going to come back....with help.z

"Oh you have got to be kidding me!" Jo screamed, anger fueling her. She was always one to get easily agitated. In her irritation, huge spikes of ice shot up around her out of the ground. The air cooled drastically. A warning to the monsters that she was not someone to be trifled with.

The cries of the monsters drew to nothing, before sounds of whimpering was heard as they scampered off, leaving her aloe with Jackson's frosty body, still in unconsiousness.

"Oi and that's what I thought!" She yelled. Her attention was turned towards Jack's body. She was a fighter, not a healer. Suddenly, she felt very, very alone. She scampered over and knelt beside his body and began brushing the snow off. He was cold. Too cold.

Jackson's limbs and fingers, thank the gods were all covered with clothing to prevent frostbite, however, he was still freezing to death, slowly, painfully. At best, if he didn't receive treatment soon he would die, and in her hands as well. Only she could save the son of Apollo at the moment, they didn't have enough time for her to carry him anywhere.

Jo was well aware that she had to save his life. She didn't want him to die, but she had no idea what she was doing! She ran out to her truck in the parking lot and grabbed the blanket from the back. Hoping to warm him up, she took her jacket off and slipped it over his shoulders. She held his frozen body in her arms (all for the sake of keeping him alive, mind you) and wrapped the blanket around the both of them.

Jackson's breathing was shallow, but he slowly began to warm up as he was pressed agains her warm body and the large woolen blanket she had wrapped around the both of them. Within an hour, he was beginning to move, his eyes fluttering as the bright blue was revealed to her in the glint of the moonlight. At least, what light for through the clouds.
