i come into the courtyard with emilee following. i walk over to the bonfire and sit down. there was a small ember, large enough for me to make it larger. the fire's warmth was relaxing. maybe it was just my imagination, or maybe my mom had kept the ember alive just for me. either way, i had to get warm. and i also had to get emilee warm, without burning anything down
