by Lone Wanderer 11/23/2013, 2:41 pm- Ariadne stared out at the ocean, feeling cold. The winter chill was beginning to set in, and half of her friends were gone for school. She let out a little sigh, digging her fingers in the sand and having a sort of unamused smirk on her face.

I walk along the beach and look down at my hand. It was gleaming in the sun and blinding my eyes. So I put a black glove over it to protect my eyes. I want to go at least one day without one of my personalities coming out other than this one. And today will be that day.

- She was still staring out, not really paying attention to her surroundings. There were always annoying and screaming children everywhere; it was just so much easier to block them out. A breeze came out and chilled her, making her pull her hands out of the sand and rub her arms instead.

I sit down next to her and say, "Well, I was going to school and was attacked by a hellhound. I outran it and told my only friend who happened to be a satyr. He took me to camp, but when we approached the border, the same hellhound bit off my left hand. I was taken to the infirmary and spent about two weeks there." I stopped there and did not tell her about how I got the celestial bronze hand. I just hoped she wouldn't notice I still had a left 'hand.'

"Really now? Like what?" she asked. This boy was certainly interesting, one of the first to talk to her in awhile. However, she had an important matter to attend to and just had to leave the beach.

Mason stepped on the beach with his head down, looking at the sand as he walked. Mason looked up and saw a kid with an oddly longed arm. Mason squinted to look closer, to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. Although a long arm wouldn't be the strangest thing in camp. Mason then realized that the hand was made of celestial bronze. "Hm" Mason sighed and sat on the beach.
