I slap Trevor, my own face feeling it. "Shaddup. Let's go."
I awake in a shock. "What?!"
"I need you to get me to my horse and ride to the infirmary." I try standing but fail.
"But I don't know how to ride--"
"Yes you do, you're me. So get the damn horse so we can get some frigging medical attention!" I slap him again.
I slap him back, but do what he says. Within fifteen minutes, we ride off to the infirmary.

I wandered in a random direction, kicking stones out of my way to pass the time. I hadn't seen Lorie in a while, but she was probably crammed up in her cabin reading or something -- she liked to do that, even though being outside was so much better -- fresh air and you could run around freely. Heh. I looked around, not sure where I was for a moment before noticing I was near the funeral pyre, with the little shed holding some shrouds and tools nearby. I'd never gone here before, but that was probably because I didn't like all those memories that came with a person dying.

I frowned at the kid, scratching my chin absently. Well, that was real unique of him -- visiting the place where his friend burned into ashes and smoke. Real nice. "Why, of all places, would you go to the funeral pyre? Do you really want to remember that Carman person burning into ashes here, or would it be better for you to go to a place where, you know, you guys had swell memories together?"
