Gary smiled with an evil yet gentle glint in his eyes. Somehow he wanted to manipulate this girl, but he also wanted to help her.
Or mess with her. Same thing, right? He barely knew anymore, his mind was so twisted that he couldn't tell anything emotional apart anymore, but that was okay with him.
"Is there anything bothering you? I can make them... go away, if that is what you'd like."

Kanoa never looked up at him as she took another puff of her smoke. "No, there isn't anyway to make it go away. It's already done it's damage and it has left me scars; permenant scars that will remind me every single day until the time I die... At least it will be better then..." She mumbled the last part quietly to herself. She had never talked to someone this much about her feelings. No-one. Absolutely no-one.
She wondered how far Ace was.

Gary started chuckling, and pulled his shirt up a little to show her the large scar going across his side. He wouldn't tel her what from, for it would hurt his pride. He would hate it if people knew that the scar was a terrible burn inflicted on him by Vallary's curling wand.
Most of the time he would tell people that he was slashed at by a knife or he fell while mountain climbing, considering they were better sounding ways to go down... At least better sounding than getting hit with a curling wand.
"Well all of your scars can be healed if you pair them up with something nice... I think they're a sign of experience.

Kanoa didn't even wince when she saw the scar. She and her mother were given worse. She shuddered at the thought of all the memories of her stepfather. She had nearly began to cry but she tilted her head back and looked at the ceiling; blinking. Kanoa used her sleeve to wipe her hazel-green eyes. She placed her cigarette in her lips and just breathed in and out slowly. She took it out of her mouth.
"Some scars cannot be healed, no matter what." She said to Gary, looking at him now. He was the only male she sort of trusted.

Gary chuckled again at the girls weakness, he found it so easy to get rid of the pain from scars. Aloe Vera worked pretty well, but so did destroying the problems.
"Maybe you haven't been trying enough... Or maybe you need an extra person to help you." that extra person would be Gary, of course. He remembered that Ace had gone missing, but he had a feeling he would come back soon if he threw an unlit cigarette on the ground. He wanted his watch back, after all.

Kanoa took a shaky breath in. She didn't even know why she felt like this. She never used to be like this with another person. She took a long puff of her cigarette and held it in for a while before exhaling.
"Yeah, maybe..." She said nearly above a whisper.

Gary quickly turned away and started looking around for Ace. He had gone in way too fast, and he needed to make it look like he wasn't only interested in her. "Where is that darn ferret... I want my watch back." he didn't bother going outside, for he might find the rodent indoors, hiding. He heard the pitter patter of little feet, and he thought it might be the animal with his watch, but he realized it was Max when he heard a couple of test barks. He sighed, realizing that he could've been hurt while running around, and picked him up. "Perhaps I should keep more of an eye on him."

A ghost of a smile appeared on Kanoas face. She noticed how much Gary cared for his pet. She thought about how she should take more care for Ace. She squished her cigarette in the ashtray before standing up and walking slowly towards the telescope. A light whistle escaped her lips as she looked through the lens and towards the bright stars. She hadn't really payed attention to the beauty of the night sky until now.
Kanoa heard a faint squeak that got her attention. She looked down to her feet and saw her companion staring up at her with his beady eyes and a watch inbetween his jaws. She kneeled down and stroked her finger under his chin before carefully grabbing the boys watch.
"Here you go." She said, holding out Gary's watch.
