"That's exactly what we guys are asking. (We warhawks. That's how the others, peace-wanters call us.) Why not just attack them right now, when they didn't yet have the time to come up with elaborate attack strategies?" She kicked the knife back into her hand. "Nope, the Doves somehow find it perfectly okay to lazily wait around for them to attack us. Our Oracle, Rachel Dare, went to talk with the Roman leaders at one point, but apparently they're having the same problem as us. One of their leaders absolutely wants to kill us, the other one is a bit more reluctant. I just want this to be settled soon so we can address the real threat." She looked at Jayce as he sat down on a bunk, the mattress squeaking a bit under his weight. "The Hunters? Urgh, don't get me started on them. They're an immortal bunch of chicks who hunt monsters forever. They never get sick, never age and never date boys. I'd rather join the Amazons."
Chiara sheathed her knife and crossed her freckled arms, nodding at one of her half-brothers who was exiting the cabin, carrying a spear and a basket ball, but looked back at Jayce as he asked for weapon and armor.
"We got an armory where you can get weapons and armor. There's also the weapon shed of the Athena cabin who's overloaded with stuff. And if you want something custom-made, you can always go to the forge and ask the Hephaestus kids to forge you something, but they're pretty busy at the moment. You know, war preparations and stuff."
