personality: creative. charming. idealistic. those were the words you'd normally hear when one describes jack archer. he's an overall nice guy, with a killer smile and an extensive vocabulary of fancy words he'd probably use to persuade you to go on a date with him. jack's the kind of guy who'd interrupt an argument between two of his friends by bursting into a medley of 'let it go' and 'can you feel the love tonight'. he's imaginative and hard-working, as well as passionate and energetic. he's both street smart and book smart, and he's a quick thinker who usually gets out of tough situations quickly, and he isn't normally one to succumb to stress. it's hard to figure out if jack is an introvert or extrovert. on the surface, he seems like an extroverted guy who values harmony and sociability. however, he does find it hard to mingle around when he's thrown into a new environment suddenly.
flaws: jack has many flaws - he isn't the biggest fan of handling data. he likes seeing the bigger picture, and an overload of details isn't something he likes. sometimes, he's so focused on the big picture that he forgets that the forest is made up of individual trees. jack can take things too personally. he sometimes loses control of his emotions, and he's a little too idealistic at times. he lives by the ideology that everyone in the world is born good - or at least, those who don't seem so good are simply misunderstood. because of this, he's a little too quick to forgive those who've betrayed him, and that makes him an easy push-over. his creative mind and imagination could be one of his flaws, too. jack often ends up letting his imagination roam beyond the realms of reality, and that causes him to a bit too optimistic for his own good.
abilities (must relate to god parent; optional): he has the ability to revive recently withering plants or dead plants.
powers (must relate to god parent; optional): chlorokinesis - the ability to summon, control and manipulate plants and vegetation. jack can control and manipulate wood, flowers, and plants.
*he can use this ability to have his enemies ensnared in plants, by manipulating plants to wrap around his targets. the strength of the vines could be strong enough to suffocate his victim. however, it's not as if he can do the same with ridiculously large trees. his ability is limited to him being able to control smaller plants, such as vines. this ability lasts around two posts, and require a three post cool down.
*he also has the ability to weaponize them by hitting his target with roots and vines, and projecting thorns at a distance, though he isn't very skilled at this. the thorns can be launched to a maximum distance of 5 meters (16 feet). again, this lasts for two posts, with a cool down of three posts.
*his ability to create bridges out of wood or make vines to grow and support him to get himself on a higher level from the ground tires him greatly, and this ability alone would require a five post cool down. the maximum height of the bridge would be five meters (16 feet), and the maximum weight would be 150 kilograms, or 330 lbs.
life before camp*: for jack, life before camp was.. well, to say the least, complicated. most people envied him for his wealthy family, but all of his family's riches never ever really made him happy. he was all about simplicity - preferring flowers over diamonds. his father was a rich businessman, and his step-mom, elizabeth archer, owned a clothing line. his parents were sophisticated and wanted him to play the violin or piano, or take golfing lessons, and those things were not on jack's to-do list. he loved the outdoors - roaming in the forests and running through strawberry fields. he started rebelling against his parents with small acts, like skipping some of his golf classes to go swimming in the lake. on a particularly unfortunate friday night, jack got into an argument with his parents in which they were - not surprisingly - lecturing him on the importance of 'being a successful man in the future'. in a fit of anger, jack stormed out of the house and made his way to the forest near his school. unknown to him, a hydra had been lurking in the forest and had spotted jack, and tried to attack him, but jack had run out of the forest, screaming for help at the top of his lungs. luckily for him, a senior from his school, courtney, (who for some reason had been around the area) had heard him and spotted him. courtney turned out to be a greek demigod, and rescued him from the hydra. later on, jack was brought to camp half-blood (by courtney, who had enlisted the help of a satyr) and claimed at the age of fourteen.
rp example*: jack was hungry. first off - he would like to give credit to the archery lessons for the reason his stomach felt like cutting it's way out of his body, thank you very much. secondly, he needed food, like, now. he rushed into the mess hall a little too eagerly, his white tee shirt still wet with sweat. his bright blue eyes scanned the room before finding their target.
oh man, yes, steak was what he needed right now.
he ran a hand through his blonde hair, the other being shoved in his pocket, and tried to walk casually to retrieve his food and not end up looking like a giddy school boy.
