She rubs her head against me. "Yeah, I blew it, big time. You'd think that by now I'd learn to keep my big mouth shut." She looked at me. I craddled my head in my knees. "He was a nice kid too. And of course, I had to go and screw it up. Oh, I didn't even learn his name. He was the son of one of the gods of fear, I think." She crooned. "At least I still have you."

As i was walking around the clearing again. oh great was she following me to tell me i was a miserable failure or something? i thought. I stayed where i was. It was a nice clearing. I layed down and looked up at the stars.

"I don't understand why perigrin falcons prefer to be alone. A life alone is horrible." I told Starsong. She crooned in agreement. "Well, then again, insted of flying off, you chose to stay with me. You think it hurts to be alone too, don't ya." She cocked her head to one side. "You know, I think the Fates are trying to tell us something: Life is best lived alone. Or some crap like that" Starsong nodded. "Maybe... maybe we should just leave camp. I mean, it's not like anybody really wants us here. I doubt anybody would miss us. Well there I go running my mouth again." The falcon looked at me. "You know, I met these really nice kids. But of course, I had to go running my mouth. They probably both hate me by now." I laugh. Starsong looks at me funny. "If the Fates didn't want me to be alone my whole life," I said, shaking my head and smilling. "I'd probably have learned when to shut up, by now." Wollow in self-pity. I'm one to talk. WHY CAN'T I LEARN TO SHUT UP BY NOW!!! I think to myself. I stared off into the distance. "I doubt it would matter if we left camp forever. We could live alone, painlessly, out in the world, holding our own. If we die we die. If we live we live. Oh I don't know." I lean against a tree. I start to hum my favorite song, And So It Goes. I spoke to you in cautious tones. You answered me with no pretends. And still I feel, I said too much. My silence is my self's defence. And every time I held a rose, it seems I only felt the thorns. And so it goes, and so it goes. And so will you soon, I supose..."

I heard ger singing. she had a pengrine falcon. i had always liked most animals. who knows maybe she would even say sorry? i thought. I walked over to her.

I hear something russling in the bushes. I got scared and climbed up a tree thinking it was some monster. I shot an arrow at it. It missed by about 30 feet. Shoot. Gotta work on my archery. I think. This was no good. I climbed farther into the tree and hid, hoping whatever it was would go away. Naw. Who cares anyways. I climb out of the tree. I saw that fear kid. Son of Demios. Color drained from my face. I felt ashamed. I turned away. "I'm sorry. I over reacted. I was a moron. I should have shut up when I had the chance."

I walked into the forest and saw some guy sitting alone by the fire. I walked over to him. Then I realized it was Kevin. I sat down next to him. "Hey, what's up? Why are you sitting all alone?"
