Abilities (must relate to god parent; optional):
Powers (must relate to god parent; optional): She can make plants grow and vines move and grow, like do things like grab on people's feet. Raven is still learning, generally speaking she controls smaller plants, like flowers or fruits. The thickest vine she can grow is three quarters of an inch thick. She can control them for three posts, and she has to rest for five.
Life Before Camp*: Raven's father, James, was Australian born and raised. Like most there, he lived on a ranch and was a farmer. He met Demeter disguised as a gardener named Amelia, and the two hit it off and started dating. After a while, she just left with no explanation, leaving James heartbroken.
A few months later, little Raven was wrapped in a bundle on his doorstep with a note from Demeter. Before he had even read the note, he had decided to keep Raven. She looked so little and hopeless, kind of like he felt. The note was about how Raven was his and she was a goddess, so they couldn't be together. James loved "Amelia" so much that he believed it. He named her Raven, after Amelia's black hair, and he gave her his middle name after Amelia.
Raven had a pretty normal life on the ranch. She excelled in school and spent her days talking to James, whom was wise beyond any other man, in her opinion. James was the kind of nurturing father who was always there no matter what, and Raven loved him for it.
James moved Raven to Brooklyn, New York about two years ago. He told Raven that is was because Australia was no place to raise a child. Even though Australia was dangerous, that wasn't the real reason. He wanted to move her closer to Long Island because he knew she would have to go to Camp Half Blood soon.
Raven and James moved into his little sister, Victoria's house. Vic was twenty three years old and her husband was killed in a car crash, and she was having a bad time. Raven hated it. Not because of Vic (Vic was nice and funny and everything an aunt should be), but the poisonous snakes and spiders in Australia didn't even compare to the venomous mean girls in Brooklyn. She was teased there and often got in trouble for fighting.
Things started to look up when she was around thirteen and met a boy named Jeremy Wood. He was the captain of the chess team and the best player around- until Raven came along. Despite their competitive nature and constant fighting over who was the best, they became best friends. After a while, he told her that he was a satyr and she was a demigod. Jeremy took her to Camp Half-Blood after she said goodbye to her father. She was claimed by Demeter two days after she arrived, and it was a good thing, she hated the Hermes Cabin.
RP Example*: "M-rowr!" Sabrina's piercing shriek woke Raven from her pleasant dream about Channing Tatum. Raven was so shocked, she jumped out of her bed. She scowled at her black kitten. Sabrina enjoyed waking up Raven earlier than she would like. Raven was the kind of person who enjoyed sleeping in. She looked out the window with a sigh. Just as she suspected: the sun hadn't even risen yet.
Raven drowsily slowly put on her jeans and Camp Half-Blood t-shirt. She put her auburn curls in her usual braid and put on her hoodie. Raven scooped up her loud kitten and shuffled outside. All of the other children of Demeter were sleeping soundly, like she wished to be.
Raven pushed her glasses up her nose and sat under a tree. She pulled out her book and started to read.
