It was unusually hot today at the beach. Normally, temperature was controlled and moderated, but Sloan guessed it was an off day for the weather control. She was about to stay in her bunk all day and binge watch Sense8, but half of the Aphrodite was inside escaping the heat and no one wanted to hear Sloan screaming in frustration over the show.

So Sloan went outside, scary she knows. She already knew her girlfriend was at weapons training and, well Sloan doesn't like weapons so she decided to go to the beach. Wearing a floral sundress and a big floppy hat, Sloan walked down the hill of hot sand until she got to  the middle of the beach. She pulled out a pink beach towel and spread it out. She didn't know what she was supposed to do here. Sloan brought several books with her. She pulled down her water bug sunglasses and sat down, pulling out a random book.

Narcissus walked through the hot sands of Camp Half-Blood beach with white bag in hand that contained a towel, sunscreen, bottles of water, a book, and a few other items. Today was fairly warm than usual and the Aphrodite cabin was packed with his gorgeous, sweaty half siblings and he didn't feel like dealing fighting over the tiny fans. He wore a nice, pink tank top with white swimming trunks. On his feet were stylish tan sandals and over his eyes were his white Michael Kors sunglasses. Around his neck was the S necklace that Demetrius had given to him after he left for London to be with his step father. His eyes scanned the beach for somewhere to seat until his eyes fell on one of his siblings, Sloan.

"Hey, beautiful girl. Hot too?" He asked her with a grin before setting down his bag and pulling out his towel and laying it right beside hers.

Initially, Sloan didn't recognize her brother's voice and was slightly alarmed that a boy was calling her beautiful. She thought she made it clear she was not into guys a long time ago. But she looked up to find her half-brother standing over her. She grinned up at him, "Yep. It's too hot to stay in a heavily perfumed cabin today." She laughed, watching him sit down next to her. Her brother, unlike her, was one of the more suave Aphrodite children. But she liked him just the same. He wasn't a crazy air head, which made him more tolerable than the others.

"What are you doing here?" Sloan asked, all though she probably knew the answer to that. The Aphrodite cabin is not the cabin known for quiet time. It was more of a make-up, hook-up, and break-up place. Sloan didn't want to be there for two of those things, and you can guess the two. But she was excited to see her brother. She rarely sees him. He's probably more social that she was.

Narcissus exhaled sharply and laid on his towel, closing his eyes. "I need to cool off from the heat that the almighty Dionysus had decided to lay upon us." With that he chuckled, shrugging his shoulders some. "And I'm guessing you're here for the exact same thing, huh?" He smirked, turning his head up to look at her, then back straight again. The beach was fairly packed today, the ocean was filled with floating, playing, and splashing bodies.

Sloan sighed, nodding her head, "I guess so yeah." She sat back on her hands, looking up at the sun. If she didn't have enough freckles, this visit with the sun will leave her with at least 20 more.

"So, um." She started. Sloan didn't know what to say to her sibling. She normally doesn't talk to her siblings, she's very quiet in that bunk. But she can try. "How are things? Any boys or something." Gods how is she even Aphrodite daughter.

Thought so. He thought to himself, having a smirk on his lips. Narcissus sat up on his elbows and rambled through his bag to pull out some sunscreen. The last thing he wanted to do is get sunburned. He squirted the white substance in his hand and started to smear it over the top half of his body starting with his arms. "Things are going okay, but when it comes to boys...things are going great." The son of Aphrodite smiled over at her. "Although with the boy toys at my beck and call, I still miss Demetrius, y'know? He's away in London to look after his sick step-father." His smiled faded a bit. "What about you? How's your girlfriend?"

She grinned at her brother's comment. Relationships are so cute Sloan could not even take it. The boy toys are cute too and all, but Sloan liked hearing about his...main..boy.

"Sylvie is cute. I mean, we're fine and stuff. It's cue, we're good." She could feel the warmth flush, causing her to cover her cheeks. She sat up, looking away from her brother to allow herself to cool down. After a moment she looked back at him with a grin, "Do you want to do something?"

"Awww, that's good, Sloan. You two are cute together." Narcissus smiled back at his half-sister. Granted he had only seen Sloan's girlfriend a couple times around camp, but never officially met her. He couldn't help, but to chuckle when she had turned away from him, blushing.

"Hey, hey. No need to be ashamed, sis." Narc laughed more, sitting up on his hands. "And sure, we can go swimming or go play some beach game." Pretty boy ran his manicured hands through his hair.

Sloan smiled, "Thank you." Sloan stood, wiping the sand off of her sundress.

"I have a beach ball somewhere..." She told him. Sloan picked up her beach bag and rummaged through it, pulling out combs, perfume bottles, make-up, basically anything you could think of was in her bag. "We can do whatever you want really, I don't mind."

Just as she said that, a shadow fell across the pair of them, shielding them briefly from the sun. It was quite large and looked like a giant golden wasp under the sun rays, its glittering wings buzzing silently in the sky. The legs were equipped with sharp thorn-like darts and its compound eyes shimmered with a multitude of rotating cameras, taking everything in and zooming in on the two demigods sitting in the sand.

Still in silence, it let its wings grow still in order to drop down on them.

Narcissus was about to respond to the Sloan before hearing fr beating of wings. He looked up and gasped. "WASP!!!!!!" Narcissus screamed, grabbing his sister's hand and pull her backwards with him. He reached into back pocket to pull out his celestial bronze mirror that transforms into a discus. "What the hell?!?!"

Just as Sloan reached for the beach ball, her brother pulled her backwards, causing her to drop the ball and for it to roll a few feet a way from them. She heard a low humming from the wings of the robotic wasp, her eyes opened wide, stumbling a bit away from her brother. Sloan has not had her fair of monsters. She does not typically fight, nor she train to fight. She spends most of her time with her girlfriend (wink wonk) or just binge watching television. This wasp thing put her out of her element.

"What should we do?" Sloan asked. Narcissus had his weapon, so Sloan decided that he would know what to do. Sloan never carried her bow and arrows. She wasn't a fighter like her girlfriend, she wasn't strong like her either. "C-Charge it?"

The wasp dropped into the sand where it stayed motionless for some moments. Then the gem cameras of its eyes glowed green and it rushed forward, straight at them. Mechanical arms like scorpion tails grew from its back, ready to stab them with poisoned spikes.

Narcissus panicked and threw his discus at one of it's wings. "Come on!" He took her hand and started to run. He wanted to shout out for Demetrius to help like he did with the hell hound, but they had broken up. "I don't want to die single!!"

The robot shot an array of poisoned spikes at them, the boy's discuss ricocheting against its bronze carapace. It was gaining on them, even with the sand getting into its mechanism.

Sloan stumbled through the sand with her brother. She wasn't very good at running on flat land, so sand was even more unpractical. She clutched her bag as she run, trying to search through her bag and run at the same time. When the poison spikes hit, she dove down, burying her head down into the sand.

Beach items spilled out of her bag. She scrambled for the sun screen that was ahead of her. She pressed the button, allowing the spray to cover the wasp.

"Sloan!" He shouted when he saw his half-sister go down for the count. He noticed that she was taken down by the stinger. His heart was racing and wondered if any one would save them from the horrible oversized wasp. Sloan had shot sunscreen in his face, but that wasn't going to help. "Someone please!!"

The faulty infrared of the cameras blurred colors together to the point where the wasp couldn't make out the demigods' heat signatures anymore. Thinking they were dead, it took off with satisfaction, looking for new victims.

Narcissus stayed still until the mechanical insect was gone before letting out a sharp breath. "Thank the gods that sunscreen worked, Sloan." He said thankfully, looking over at her. The son of Aphrodite flopped back on the sand, not caring that it got in his hair.
