You can't stop me now/You can't hold me down/You can't keep me here
    I'm on my way
name: rei (re-ee) akiyo teniki is the name of this demigod.

    nicknames: r-e-i, rae, ari.

mortal parents: an australian by the name of matthew albury is the name of rei's adoptive father. rei's biological mother is unknown to the girl and she is completely fine with that. the most that rei knows about her is that she was japanese.

godly parent: apollo is rei's godly father.

date of birth: rei was born on december seventeenth, nineteen ninety-eight.

place of birth: rei was born in sale, victoria, australia.

hometown: rei doesn't really have a hometown, for she was constantly on the move with her adventurous father.

accent: rei has a complicated accent. her natural accent would’ve been japanese, but thanks to growing up around her adoptive father she acquired an australian accent. this gives her voice a very unique tone.

skin tone:  rei's skin tone is a fair and healthy shade of caucasian.

eye color: rei possesses deep and soul-sucking coal colored eyes.

hair color: rei's hair is light brown, but not light enough to be considered blonde.

hair length: rei's hair falls short just past the middle of her chest.

height: the last time rei measured her height, she stood at five feet and eight inches.

weight: rei weighs roughly one hundred and twenty-five pounds, with the normal pound or so fluctuation throughout her days.

body type: rei has an ectomorphic body type, and a somewhat hourglass figure. she is slim, but has quite a bit of muscle mass to show off. she isn't your typical fragile-as-a-flower demigod who somehow breaks her leg tripping. her body is extremely tough and has quite a few scars to prove it.

skills/talents: rei tends to be great at any sport or activity that involves cardio; she has an astonishing amount of endurance. this isn't so much of a talent or skill, but her body is extremely resistant to sickness thanks to all the exposure that she was subjected to during her times as a vagabond with her father. she has an extremely good memory and never seems to miss a detail, no matter how minute it is. the demigod also has a knack for skiing.

flaws: despite being normally very kind, rei has a very bad temper. it all depends on the day: one day she will extremely sweet and the next she will explode at any little thing.
the daughter of apollo happens to be a bit too addicted to adrenaline and can sometimes be very reckless.
patience is something that rei does not possess. she has to constantly be on the move and cannot tolerate waiting for things to come in time, she wants them right away.
pairing well with her impatience, rei is overambitious. she loves the feeling of accomplishment and always has to have recently achieved a personal goal to feel content.
as much as she hates to admit it, rei is quite a bit more egotistical than your average person.
the demigod is also a bit too kindhearted. sometimes she will try to help with things where no help is needed and will not think twice to aid a person, the repercussions never even passing through her mind.

personality: even at a first glance, rei is very kindhearted and gentle. she is not afraid to start a conversation with someone and almost always has an aura of friendliness surrounding her. despite this, the girl can have off days and on those days she is a force to be reckoned with. she is always willing to lend a helping hand and will charge head-forward into danger to save something that she sees as valuable, whether it be a human life or a personal belonging. the girl is a great friend to have and is always awesome to be around. she has a good sense of humor and always seems to know the right time to joke or be serious. all in all, a friend like rei is a friend worth having around.

powers: not so much a power, but more of an ability; most people with achromatopsia have trouble seeing in bright light. rei possesses no such issue. she thinks that this is thanks to her father being the god of the sun. she also seems to radiate a very low amount of light at all times.

weapon: rei mainly fights with two ice tools that have been modified to have celestial bronze picks. they do not transform into any special item for safe-keeping. rei would rather have them always handy; strapped on her pack (which she always has on her).

years at camp half-blood: rei has been at camp half-blood for three years.

life before camp half-blood: straight off the bat, rei’s life was spent on the move. her mother was only seventeen when she gave birth to the girl and, not wanting to deal with a child at such a young age, put her in a box and left her in the streets without anyone somehow figuring it out that she was doing such an awful thing. it was by chance that rei was found by a man by the name of matthew albury the same night that her mother dumped her off on the road. matthew was a very compassionate man and couldn’t bear to just bring the girl to an orphanage. he felt a strange connection with her the minute his eyes focused on her. he decided to take her under his wing, becoming her legal guardian.raising her on his own with no past experience brought it’s challenges, especially because he was a vagabond, but matthew managed to fight his way through the struggles of raising a child. as rei grew, she developed a very close bond to the man she considered to be her father. she loved the life he led: always on the move, whether it being scaling the summit of a mountain in the middle of nepal or kayaking through class v rapids in colorado (he only brought rei along on the easier and less physically demanding tasks until she was old enough to train for these things on her own. when he left for an expedition that was too dangerous for the girl, he left her with his sister, who lived in chamonix, france.)

once she was up to age standards for her father, he started taking her along on his trips. rei learned numerous important skills and had many life-enlightening experiences during these trips. whether it be rock or ice climbing, kayaking, mountain scaling, wingsuiting, or mountain biking, rei enjoyed it all. she turned into a jack of all trades when it came to adventure, thanks to her dad.

all of her trips came to a dead stop, however, when a mountaineering expedition to summit a mountain in the karakoram range that resided in pakistan became ghastly. it was rei, her father, and two fellow climbers who were close family friends that formed a crew trying to scale a mountain by the name of broad peak. they were almost at the summit of the mountain when an avalanche came crashing down on top of the group. by miraculous luck, rei and the two other climbers survived (not without injuries, however), but her father wasn’t so lucky. he was taken out of sight by the avalanche and was immediately presumed dead. searching for him would most likely result in the death of the remaining crew. they were not in a good shape to search for him either; only one climber sustained minor injuries. she was only fourteen when she lost her father. rei was beaten up pretty well by the avalanche: fracturing her pelvis in multiple points, as well as breaking her left leg, clavicle on the left side, left arm, multiple ribs, and various gashes along her face and left side of her body. the other climber who was hurt sustained a broken right arm and fractured tibia. the worst injury, however, was damage to her cerebral cortex. the trauma to this part of her brain caused her to develop cerebral achromatopsia, better known as complete color blindness. all the colors that she once knew are now all shades of gray. the second worst part of the situation was that they had to descend one thousand and fifty meters before they could be reached by a rescue helicopter safely. this was without a doubt the toughest trial rei has ever been through. she had to be carried by the minorly injured climber all the way back down the to the rescue site, which was no easy feat for the climber. rei owes her life to him. once picked up by the rescue helicopters, she was promptly whisked away to the nearest hospital that had the technology to treat her wounds. the demigod spent two weeks in a pakistani hospital before being transported to a hospital near chamonix, france, where her aunt lived. there, she stayed at the hospital for a few weeks before being sent to live with her aunt, but still on bed rest.

her aunt did the best she could to care for the girl, both mentally and physically. rei refused to believe her father was dead and became delusional, claiming that her dad would visit her during the night. this wasn't caused by any physical brain damage, but from the pain medication that she had to take heavy doses of. her aunt alone couldn't manage to care if the girl by herself, so right before winter she decided to fly rei over to her to her other brother who lived in the united states and had a family of his own. it was because of this transfer that rei was brought to camp half-blood. her uncle lived in new york city and found out about a rehabilitation camp for children over the summer through a "co-worker". he decided that it was a great idea for rei to go and sent her off at the beginning of the summer. it was thanks to her uncle that rei found out about the world of the gods, the world that she belonged in. she still to this day has no clue how people at camp suspected her to be a demigod, but she doesn't care to know the answer, just like how deep inside she still has a glimmer of hope that her father is still alive.

roleplaying example: the trees shuddered in the gelid breeze as rei strode by. the wind whipped through her hair and pierced down to her bones. it was days like these that made the girl feel unmotivated. the cold just reminded her of horrid things. things of death and sorrow. things that she did not wish to remember, even though they were stuck in her mind forever. the shouting, the tears, the blood, the cold. on how the cold made everything worse. it mocked her. it produced such a feeling of dread inside the girl that she tried as often as she could to avoid being subjected to it. cold. it only brought despair.
notes: re is portrayed by shailene woodley.
    her color is #ef7c7c.
