Son of Mania

Socks strolled into the art room, paying no attention to the other people in the room. He walked straight to the furthermost corner of the room where an easel was positioned right under an open window, making for a lovely play of sunlight on colour. Speaking of colour, he reached up to the top shelves where there were a few dusty cans of poster paint. Neatly slitting the cans open with his pocket knife, Socks proceeded to dip his fingers into the paint. First in the green one, then the blue, then the red.

He raised his fingers to eye level and looked at it curiously, as though unsure how the paint had gotten there in the first place. Without hesitation he proceeded to spread the paint in little geometric shapes on his body. A pink triangle on his forearm, a purple circle on his collarbone and so on. Purple is a good colour for me..perhaps I should go purple, he mused absently, staring out the window as he drew a lovely red squiggle on his chin.

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.
