Smile and wave (Mason)

"Lizzie, calm down. You're getting too wound up about this. He won't want to meet your mother unless you live with her and stuff. Since we're at camp, it's different. Trust me. Alright?"

Lizzie tried to calm herself but she felt anxiety filling her chest like the most cruel terror. "I... I trust you." She whispered softly.

Greg smiled, then heard a creek. The butler came out to them.

"Uh, we'd just like to order out some pizza."

"That's not what I came out here for, Master Greg, but your wish is my command. Your father wants to see the girl."

Greg looked at her.

Lizzie looked a bit alarmed. "Erm... Would he mind waiting whilst I changed?" She asked the butler. Somehow she did not want to talk to her boyfriend's father alone in her swimwear.

"I don't think so. Just be quick about it."

Greg smiled at her. "You'll be fine, okay?"

"Okay I'll be quick." Lizzie replied before squeezing Greg's hand for reassurance.

Greg nodded.

His father waited. When she came in, he put on a poilte smile. "Lizzie, I've been thinking, and, well, I don't like you and I really don't want you around Greg. You're through, and don't ever talk to him again." He put on a serious face, and a minute later, he started laughing. "I'm just kidding. I like you. You can continue dating."

Lizzie looked horrified, too horrified to think of an objection to what his father said. Her chest clenched and she struggled to keep herself from breaking down in grief and panic. It lessoned somewhat when he confused to be joking, liking her and that they could continue dating. Feeling slightly sick, looking rather pale Lizzie left to get changed again before going to see her boyfriend.

Greg saw her not looking the greatest. "Are you okay? What did he say?"

Lizzie slid into the water next to him, wrapping her arms around him as she hugged him. "Just a joke that I could not see you again." She whispered, it may have been just a joke but in her opinion it was rather cruel.
