Jeremy's life before camp wasn't much to write home about, at least for a half-blood. He was a good kid, stayed in school and out of trouble. He was on the way to an athletic scholarship, and his academics weren't too bad either. He did it all for his mother, before she died. There was a gas leak; Jeremy was at school, Nicholai at work. Jeane was home alone, cooking for herself. She turned the stove on, and the house went up in a ball of fire. Reese was the only thing to make it out of the blaze. After that, Nicholai and Jeremy moved houses. Jeane's death took a heavy toll on them both, but Nicholai did a complete 180. He went from loving, supportive stepfather to repeated abuser. Jeremy didn't go a day with some sort of abuse, whether it be physical, emotional, verbal, or mental. He'd go to school with bruises and he'd have to cover them with long clothes; the ones that could be covered anyway. The blatantly obvious ones were explained away by surfing or basketball incidents. One day after school, Jeremy had had it. He went straight to his room and sobbed for an hour while Nicholai was in the pool. Eventually he stopped and wiped the tears from his face. He left his room to tell Nicholai he was going outside to run, only to find him in the pool belly-up. He was dead, he'd drowned. The pool was only 5 feet and Nicholai was a foot taller. How was it possible? The police ruled it accidental and Jeremy was orphaned. He was only there for 2 months before being "adopted". His new parents were two satyrs that took him up to Camp Half-Blood. He arrived at camp at 15 years old, leaving at 19.
Jeremy left camp 5 years ago, making him 24 at present. In the time since he left, he grew a lot. He started working out, got huge, even grew a beard. He began to shed his carefree demigod nature and made his best attempt at living civilian life. He stayed in New York; got a cushy corporate office job, a condo upstate, and dated around like the boytoy that he is. He knew that civilian life wasn't entirely for him though; he knew he needed more. Much more. Feeling unfulfilled, Jeremy made his way back to Camp Half-Blood; not as a camper, but as a counselor, and to his surprise, an instructor as well. He now lives a life instructing the sons and daughters of major and minor water/electricity-based Gods on how to use their powers effectively, responsibly, and with purpose, and is pursuing a relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Maddy. This is the fulfillment that he was looking for.

Before Camp Half-Blood, Kyra lived in New Zealand with her mother and stepfather. Kyra had a very stable and loving relationship with both of her parents, and they were all best friends of sorts. They never had a lot of money, but Kyra's parents always tried to make sure that she would want for nothing. Her mother taught Capoeira classes, and that was where she met Kyra's stepfather. After they began dating and got married, they started teaching the classes together with Kyra becoming proficient in the martial art as a result. Upon the untimely and seemingly random death of her stepfather, Kyra began to feel the effects of what she would come to know as dissociative disorder. Kyra begun having trouble remembering aspects of her own identity and started to become out of touch with the world around her after said events.
At present, Kyra spends a lot of her time practicing the arts of centering and meditation around campgrounds in order to pull herself back into her own body more and more each day. She tries not to stay in her cabin much at all, as it gives her way too much time to think. Kyra is a very no nonsense individual. She was raised to be very independent and headstrong. She's a very friendly person but can come off abrasive upon first meeting her, and she is a lover of the outdoors.

Before Camp Half-Blood, Carson was a terrible kid. He wasn't a killer, he wasn't in a gang, or anything of the sort. He was reckless, and didn't handle anything with care. He was good at what he did, however. He very frequently practiced the arts of freerunning and parkour in order to get him places no one should have been. Breaking into buildings was that much easier. He was also an incredibly skilled hacker and programmer for his age, and he knew his way around a lock. He was book and street smart, so he was never left without knowledge. His short-lived criminal career ended when he was whisked away to camp by the satyr who had been watching over him in secret. He arrived at camp at 14 and left at 18.
At present, Carson is 23. Since Camp Half-Blood, he used his skills as an engineer and technomancer to quickly rise through the ranks of a major technology conglomerate, making a salary most would consider ridiculous. It wasn't all glitz and glamour, though. Carson began to become overworked quickly, and started to feel the effects of company abuse. They didn't want him, they wanted his skills, and they would do anything to get them. He began to suffer from frequent anxiety attacks, and eventually quit his position. He made his way back to camp only very recently. He currently spends his time in the Hephaestus cabin working on any projects he can occupy himself with as he decides whether or not he's ready to leave again.

Astrid never had a life before CHB. Her body and spirit reside in a star system directly above the campgrounds, and she manifests down below whenever she feels like. She roams the campgrounds frequently, conversing with other nymphs and participating in any classes or lessons that can help her learn more about the place that she comes from.
Astrid is also an extremely hyperactive individual. She is overly-friendly and can sometimes come off as overbearing or clingy. She is very impatient and can't seem to sit still. As a star nymph she has not had a lot of opportunities to make friends, so she talks to whoever whenever she feels like, and even knows most campers by name.

Before Camp Half-Blood, Arya lived life as a poor kid in the Bronx. She went to a public school where she was not the most popular. As a black girl in the Bronx, she was no stranger to constant harassment from any guy in the area or strange looks or comments from others because she was a different race. Her home life wasn't so great either. Her father was abusive, in part because he knew what Arya was, and he didn't believe in it. He saw Arya as hellspawn; the Devil. Arya developed depression as a result of the abuse, and manifested mental blockades that keep her from remembering those traumatic events; diagnosed as selective amnesia. Arya participated in Choir throughout middle and high school, and while her school system's musical programs were severely underfunded, she did what she could to remain active in said programs. She held a few small jobs throughout high school, like working the register at a corner store, but it was nothing that brought her the money that she wanted.
Arya is an extremely compassionate individual, and is constantly going out of her way for others at camp. She is ironically very soulful, and is nearly always singing or trying to express herself in some way. She can sometimes come off a little preachy; going on and on to other campers about how certain actions can send their soul to Tartarus, and et cetera. Sometimes she can come off a little hard to read in terms of her goals in aspirations, in part because she herself doesn't know what they are and because she doesn't want others to know that she doesn't know. She is a great singer, but isn't at all confident in her singing ability.
