I sprint into the forest, trying hard to prevent tears from appearing. When I got dizzy from dehydration, I collapse by a tree and hug my knees. I bury my face in them.
I can trust him right? I don't know... After years and years, it turned out I choose the wrong people to trust. And it'll never go away. He's nice... Like how Ashlyn was nice, but... I sigh. Forget it. I can't trust anyone...
I hear a distant footstep. Is that Reid? I look up and see nothing. I look down again when I hear a twig break. I take deep breaths. The footsteps kept advancing toward my direction. I look up and grab a sharp rock, not having any other weapon but nature. I stand up and hide behind a tree.
Out of nowhere, this arm or what it seemed like hit me in the stomach and sent me flying. I scream and when I find myself on the ground, I stagger up. Something hit me behind my back and I fell on my face. Oh the joys of not having weapons. I roll around and find myself face-to-face with an ugly monster. It had serrated teeth... Its claws were pinning me down to the ground, hard. They were probably bleeding right now, because it felt like someone had stabbed me there. I close my eyes, knowing that it was the end of day light for me.
