Re: Funerals(So sad)
As we approached the funeral pyre, I noticed that the pegasi were getting a bit nervous now, trotting a bit slower as we walked further and further. The one with Ophelia's body was leading the trio, trotting a few feet in front of me. We stopped by the funeral pyre and I glanced around. "Anybody wanna help...?"

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I walked over and picked up Ophelia body and placed her on the pyre to be burnt, but with words first.I glanced around to see if the others where coming now.

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I walked into the pyre and sighed. This wasn't easy, it was also an awful irony that I couldn't remove the worst kind of pain... Goodbye Ophelia, what ever is offered in paradise, I know its not good enough for you... you deserve more.

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I cleared my throat, glancing around at the others now. Well, somebody had to break the silence.... "Ophelia's dad was Cocytus, right?" I asked, just trying to make a bit of conversation. "We'll need to find her a shroud."

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I nodded, I didn't know much about how funerals worked around here but I knew it was burning their bodies.

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I nodded and looked around the pyre, rubbing the back of my head as I saw a small shed nearby. I walked over to it and pushed it open to see shrouds, folded neatly into square shapes, lining the shelves. "Would a plain blue one be okay?" I called over to the others.
ooc: Since they can't make a shroud very fast....

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I nodded to Kendall. Her funeral was being held by amateurs. Sorry, Ophelia...

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I nodded and pulled out a plain blue one, still folded up neatly as I approached the pyre. I laid the shroud over Ophelia, leaving her face uncovered, and stepped back from the pyre. "So, uh.... Who wants to light the pyre?"

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I swung my backpack over my shoulder and removed a lighter I had packed for the quest. I flicked the starter and a small flame erupted from the lighter. "We should cover her face... I don't want to see it burn." I said... she still only looked like she was sleeping...

arek looked at the flame, his eyes trained on it. he sighed, fire was normally fun, but now, it wasn't bringing him as much joy as it would normally.

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I walked forward and covered Ophelia's face with the shroud, backing away again as a signal to Katy to light the pyre, when I looked around and frowned. "So... Anybody want to say anything to her? Or shall we continue?"

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I frowned and shook my head. "I couldn't think of what to say... I think some simple goodbyes will do." I said truthfully, but sadly. I closed the lid of the zippo lighter and stuck it back into my pocket for the time being. I shuffled forward and ran my fingers over the edge of the shroud and whispered a quiet goodbye to Ophelia.

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I walked forward, looking down to Ophelia"good bye Ophelia, your heroic act saved us all, and we could never forget what you have done, you where courageous and always managed to keep a confident attitude throughout all the crisis's we had to face, your courage was great enough for even the children of ares to look up to and fight to achieve, we will miss you" I had spoken then took 2 steps back, a tear had ran down my face.

Re: Funerals(So sad)
arek shook his head "im not entirely fond of saying good bye unless i know i will see someone again. ill pass." arek stepped away a good 5 feet, turning his back towards the body, drew up a cigarette, and lit it. "all i know is her heroic act is something i might have been able to prevent, if i stayed on the pegasus with her, instead of leaping off like an idiot." arek puffed his cigarette.

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I shuffled forward a bit, looking down at the plain blue shroud we'd found for Ophelia -- she deserved a lot better than this.... I rubbed my shoulder absentmindedly, wondering how Ophelia was faring in the Underworld. "Well, Ophelia. Even though I didn't really know you too well, you were a great person in life. Have fun in Elysium; if anybody deserves it, it would be you."

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I smiled a bit and moved forward toward the pyre. I reached down and picked up a leaf, and lit it on fire with my lighter. I dropped the leaf and it slowly and gracefully fluttered into the pyre and landed, the flames spreading quickly.

Re: Funerals(So sad)
I watched the flames burn and flicker as the shroud burnt away, I closed my eyes, noticing the Katana dad gave me was back on my waist thanks for the gift dad I said in my head"I'm going to go now guys, I have to go let Emma i'm ok" I told them and weaved bye, glancing back at the fire as I walked away.

arek shook his head, saying "well, I'm going to take off. no need for me to remain here." arek left, smoking his cigarette as he left the pyre. he knew he would not view fire the same as he did before.
