Emma tried to grab the book back before it was completely ruined. That spell book had been her life for a long time. Without it, she only knew a few spells and none of them would help her in this situation.

When Vanessa was done, she began giving the girl lots of little cuts all over her body.

Emma screamed, bloody tears streaming off her face. Blood began to pool beneath her from the cuts and her broken nose.

Vanessa laughed at the girl's pain. She then pulled the girl up and pinned her to a tree. Vanessa took off her scorpion ring, causing it to change into her barbed whip. She flicked it at the girl a couple of times.

Emma's body became weak from pain and blood-loss. She was unwilling to be forced into anything, but her weakness made her succumb to the torture. She tried to scream, but her voice became weak and wispy. Her consciousness started to slip, but she could still feel the agonizing pain of the barbed whip lashing on her back.
