Sofia felt warm, wait warm she wasn't supposed to be warm. She opened her eyes a bit groggy to feel sweat on her face it was Calden's. "Calden wake up are you okay? I think you have a fever." she shook him slightly.

Calden's eyes cracked open. He shut them tightly and whimpered. "I don't feel good," he mumbled, curling in on himself.

"I need you to tell me what's wrong, so I can help you." Sofia was calm but worry was thick in her voice. "It looks like you're running a fever." she put her hand on Calden's forehead, it was hot to the touch and stung Sofia's hand.

"Calden you have a fever I have to lower your body temperature, it's not going to be easy for you to sleep until I do." Sofia quickly got up and drenched a wash cloth in ice cold water, she rung it out and returned to Calden's side. "I have to move you a bit." she adjusted him so that Calden's head was resting in her lap. "You'll be okay." she smiled at him placing the cold cloth on his forehead. "I'm taking away a blanket until your body temp is back to normal okay?" she did so.

"S-Sofia... Am I gonna hurt you?" he asked suddenly. "Y-you said that y-you have to stay cold..." He slurred, trying to shake the fog from his head.

"No Calden you aren't hurting me. Being close to someone who has a fever doesn't affect me." she wore a caring smile and paused a moment. "It actually feels kind of nice....being close to something warm." Sofia blushed her cheeks always turned a pale rosy color. "I'm alright I promise. It's you that i'm worried about." she applied another cold cloth to his forehead. "Do you want anything?" Sofia asked softly, she couldn't help but flash him a delicate smile.

He whimpered a little and tried (and failed) to flinch away from the cool cloth. He cleared his throat a little. "A-a glass of water would be nice,"

"Max please fetch a glass of water for Calden. I know you're awake." Sofia said sweetly.
Max got up and went to the sink filling a mug full of water. He brought it back to Sofia, then he left and went back to lay down.
"Thank you Max. Here Calden." Sofia lifted his head and put the cups brim to Calden's lips.

"Better?" Sofia brushed her fingers gently across Calden's cheek. "Do you need more water?"

And so Calden closed his eyes, trying not to think about how cold he was, and how much he wanted the covers back.

Sofia fell asleep soon after Calden. She ended up curling up next to him on the sofa, wrapping her arms around him like he was a teddy bear.

Sofia wasn't used to being so warm but it wasn't really bothering her. She pulled Calden so close that their noses were touching.

At some point during the night, his fever broke and he began to cool off.

It was dawn the next morning, and Sofia's face was buried in Calden's chest. She had slept better than she had in a long time.

Calden felt sort of funny and guilty and also weirdly happy about sleeping with a girl... But he didn't think about it for too long: he was far too tired to.
