Then the sheep spoke. Gabi pinched herself, because she HAD to be dreaming in order to see a talking sheep. "OW!" She yelled instead. So she wasn't sleeping.

Nix walked in, her hair frizzy from last night, holding the necklace that Noonian had set on her drawer. Her face was consumed with guilt. Kat was in front of Chione's cabin, sprawled on the steps, studying the courtyard.

Kat looked up to see Ethan. "Yes. They fit..um.." She was trying hard to think of an English word that would work. She was wearing capris and a T-shirt that he gave her. She thought hard on what to say. Her shoulders slumped, as she sat up from the steps. "Perfect?" She tried. Nix peeked at the box, and she saw a dog, it licked her right on the face. She grinned happily at Hanson. "Amazing. Now I have two pets..Except my cat barely can even come to me and do something..cat-like. Like curl up in my lap. So I would say, One and a half."

"Sore-ry (Sorry), for the bad English." Kat apologized. She tried hard to be able to have the perfect American-like accent, but it was not working out well for her. Nix touched her hair self consciously. A blush lit her cheeks. "The perfect birthday present." She smiled at him.

I could tell my eyes had warmed. "That's good." I couldn't really stand it anymore. I leaned in, and stopped, mentally asking her if it was alright with her if I leaned in just a bit closer.
