Phil was a bit too focused on his injuries to watch the whole thing that happened, but he caught a glimpse of Spencer trying to suplex (?) the monster to the ground, which would have been a hilarious spectacle if it wasn't involving his freaking best friend probably dying to a monster. Then he saw Spencer snapping her fingers and then the ceiling falling on the monster's head, while Spencer being left unscratched. Talk about luck... wait, that was the point. Spencer's powers dude... then she went over to the monster to stab it and gosh darn it he couldn't miss it. He wanted to kill the thing that ruined his quiet day, so he -tried to- rush to where it was, his gladius in hand. "May l join?"he asked, eith a devious grin, his eyrs shining with rage.

Spencer looked up and saw that Phil too had pushed his gladius into the lion's neck. It gave a last roar of pain that thrummed through Spencer's bones, then exploded like a sack of flour, covering them with yellow sand.

"Ewwww monster dust," Spencer said, screwing her face up in disgust. She wiped her cheek but she was still soaked with water so the thing clung to her skin and clothes. She then looked up at Phil, who was equally yellow with dust, gave a grin and rose a hand for a high five when -- the alarms started blaring. Aquarium staff burst into the room and saw them, covered in a weird yellowish substance, with dead fish at their feet and a broken ceiling panel on the floor, which still sent occasional white sparks. And their hands raised for a high-five.

"That's them!" a man said. "We got them on camera. They were in the tunnel when it collapsed!"

Still panting, Spencer gave a weak smile. "We were. We almost thought we wouldn't make it out."

"And would you please explain why you thought it'd be funny to break the underwater tunnel?"

"Do you even know how much this is going to cost you?" another woman cut in. "You two delinquents are going to Juvie, I'm going to make sure of that. Greg, did you call the police?"

"Aye. They should be here any minute now."

"Wait, you think we did this?" Spencer exclaimed, holding her side, her wounds still gleaming with blood. "We're kids!"

"Kids with weapons." The daughter of Fortuna looked down at the pugio in her hand, which had been veiled by the Mist to look like wickedly sharp knife. "Get them," the woman said, and the security guards came forward, ready to pluck Spencer and Phil off the ground. The African American girl looked at Phil with an expression of pure, Tell me this is not happening.

Darn... the feeling of joy when they stabbed the monster to death. F'n golden man! Then they got sprayed with goldust, which was sticky and annoying and disgusting. When Spencer raised her hand for a high-five he gruinned back at her and went on to raise his hand. And then the alarm ruined freaking everything. The staff came and blamed them for what had happened and then threatened to take them to Juvie. He gulped when the security guards came forward and grabbed Spencer's hand, then addressed the guards. "Now, guys, let's be logical here. We couldn't have done this, right? I mean-RUN!"and just like that it was his turn to drag Spencer, only for a few meters since she was faster anyway.

They took a few random turns, almost colliding a couple of times, the guards not seeming fit enough to get them. Then something occured at Phil. "So, uh, if we return to camp, there's this prom thingy that happens, and, uh... l wouldn't go alone and, uh..." he got interrupted because he almost slipped. "I was wondering if you'd come...as friends of course." Oh yeah, baby! Best time to bring that up!

They were close to the exit, which meant close to freedom. If they were lucky. On the other hand, that was Spencer's specialty, right? Right. Downside, they had gotten a little tired and the guards were closing the margin. Oh sht.

"We're being chased by security guards and you're asking me to prom?" Spencer incredulously panted as she ran with him. She hesitated between, Get your priorities sorted to, God I love you already.

The son of Mercury and the athlete daughter of Fortuna were quicker on their feet than the guards expected and they put a growing distance between them. Suddenly, Spencer pointed straight ahead.

"There! Exit!" Indeed, a fire exit was there and they made a run for it, bursting out at the back of the aquarium and hurtling down the metal stairs. I really need to learn parkour, Spencer thought as she landed on the ground and grabbed Phil's arm, dashing away.
In the streets, people looked at them rather weirdly and no wonder: two mid-teens with wet clothes covered in what looked like yellow flour... However police sirens had started wailing and Spencer knew their time was nearly up.

"Quick, in there!" she said, pushing Phil into an H&M store.

Her reaction was semi-expected, considering the last thing he expected was her agreeing. At least they had finally reached the exit. He was far more happy to leave the aquarium than he expected. "Freaking finally." he muttered. Of course, they wouldn't stop running. They never would it seemed. Then he saw the cops' car and they entered a store with clothes. More like Spencer pushed him in. After a couple of seconds catching their breath, he smiled. "They didn't catch us. Another successful mission for the probatios of doom." He saw her checking for clothes and he caught the drift. "Uh, l have no money. Don't tell me we'll... borrow clothes without asking?!" he asked, fakely shocked. Then he started looking for clothes himself. He found a new pair of jeans and then searched for... anything really. Then he turned back to Spencer. "So... that before was a no? "

Spencer grabbed a bunch of random clothes and disappeared into a changing room, pulling her clothes over her head. She rubbed herself dry with a fashionable white shawl then slipped into a blue jumpsuit and a pair of sneakers, waiting for Phil.
Suddenly she heard voices outside of the changing rooms and stopped.

"Yes, they went in there. Two kids in wet clothes."

Pluto. Could this day get any worse?

Bunching her dirty clothes into a knot and sticking them inside the shawl, she stuffed them into her humid backpack and prepared to run out when -- come on, I can't steal these clothes. I'll leave some money behind. However that didn't work out either when she realized her wallet hadn't been spared by the tunnel's collapse and that all her banknotes were wet.

    Great.

    Freaking. Great.

There was movement outside and she knew the police would soon trap them. Slamming her bag back on her shoulder, she slipped out of her room and pushed the curtain to enter Phil's, putting her hand on his mouth.

"Shh! They're outside," she whispered as he protested and glanced over her shoulder. "Okay. What do we do?"

He sighed when she entered the changing room without replying. What the fudge was he thinking when they were freaking chased by cops? He grabbed whatever was in front of him and entered the changing room next to hers -surprisingly not to stalk. He started putting on the clothes, his mind racing with various thoughts such as Did l mess up? or l'm hungry or even better Are the Wizards playing today? with a little bit of Crap, the cops are outside.. He was putting his pants on as someone pushed his curtain and Spencer stormed in and shut his mouth with her hand before asking him what to do. If he wasn't as embarassed as it gets, he could have made some great inappropriate jokes. Though he decided to collect himself, man up, put his pants on (literally and figuratively) and think of a solution. "We need a distraction and do what we always do. Run." he wishpered, his voice not very confident or convincing.

    "Distraction. Right."

Now he had his pants back on, it wasn't too awkward anymore and Spencer thought hard. What could they use as a distraction that'd keep the cops out long enough? Of course, she could dash out and pray they'd follow her, giving Phil time to make his escape. But that was a stupid plan because it'd mean they'd have to separate and separating in such situations is stupid.

"I'll try some luck manipulation again," Spencer said, shaking her hands up and down to evacuate the stress. She breathed in and out several times and pulled her cornrows over her shoulders. "Do I look lucky?"

At least she hadn't commented on the pants thing. (OOC WHY THE HELL DID SHE NOT COMMENT ON THE PANTS THING? xD) This made things less unconfortable. It sucked though that she tried to go with his plan. If they failed, it was his fault. That sucked. Then she decided to manipulate luck and asked him if she looked... lucky? That was rather confusing. How can you determine if someone looks lucky? He dexisded to answer anywa ."You look..." He bit his lip before saying great. "...lucky enough." he decided.

    OOC: SHE IS GOING TO

    BIC: Spencer breathed deeply. "Good."

She closed her eyes shut and focused on her lucky feeling. Fortuna.. Mom... I know I asked you something today already, but if you want to help out on this one too, please do. She then spread her hands and channeled her feelings of good luck into concrete energy, which she directed with her thoughts on their whole situation. She pictured Phil and her reaching Camp Jupiter safely after a pleasant journey back to the Caldecott tunnel. She pictured them leaving the cops behind, unnoticed. Her lucky feeling grew and grew...
    Then she let it go.

Immediately, she felt drained and had to sit down for a moment, wiping the sweat from her forehead. After several seconds, she looked back up at Phil and nodded. "Let's go," she whispered, hopped on her feet and discretely drew the curtain aside... Only to stumble upon a pair of objects which had been placed for whatever reason in front of their cubicle.

    "...Seriously."

Spencer looked up at the sky then back at the objects. Big fake moustaches, sunglasses, and sombreros.

"Just kill me already," she sighed.

He saw Spencer try to chanel her magic. After some seconds of silence she sat down, drained from the effort. That probably meant it had worked, right? Then Spencer stumbled across... sombreros? And... were those fake freaking moustaches? Talk about luck. "You know, l like your mum's humour... but now l feel like Juvie is really close." He though grabbed the sombrero, the glasses and the moustache and put them on. "Can't believe this is happening. No one will ever believe this is true." After he was done he turned to Spencer once again. "Hola!" he said grinning.

Spencer put the sunglasses on and taped the fake moustache to her face. When the sombrero was on her head she turned to the mirror in their cubicle and stared at their reflections, trying to decide whether to laugh or cry.

    "We look fab."

She was oddly tempted to draw out her phone and take a selfie to post it on Instagram. #runningfromcopsasusual #lol #mustbeanothertuesday. #demigodlife. #sombrero2cool4u.

"Right let's go." She gave Phil a high five, put her backpack back on and drew the curtain aside. "Act natural."

She'd have to have a serious talk -- well, prayer -- to Fortuna after that but right now she only wanted to go back to Camp Jupiter and flop down on her bunk bed in the First Cohort barracks. Sweet sweet bunk bed.
So she walked out of the cubicle as casually as possible, addressed the cops with a hopefully convincing Buenos tardes amigos! before taking the escalator down to the ground level and dashing out, the sombrero almost flying off her head.

"We look fab." That was one thing to say about the situation. The other was that they were doomed. He sighed before they went out. When he heard Spencer adress the cops he was sure they'd be arrested. Instead the cops ignored them and let them take the escalator and run out of this Gods' forsaken place.

Wait a minute. Had this ACTUALLY WORKED?! There was NO WAY it had. "Great job, Spence." he muttered to her. So... that was... 5 times she had saved him? Great. That made him feel useful. Oh well, better than being arrested.

The luck didn't last long; they were just racing out of the store when the cops started running after them and shouting for people to stop them. Spencer jumped and ducked and twisted between mortals, sweat breaking out on her skin again. She managed to grab Phil's hand again and snuck into a side alley where she ditched the moustaches and sombreros before getting back out on the other side.

"Don't run, stay with me, and look as angelic as you possibly can," she told him, then stopped as she saw a police car coming their way. "Err, on second thoughts -- RUN."

And she dragged him with her again through the crowds of San Francisco, almost dying twice when crossing the busy streets. It took them about twenty minutes to shake the police off and at the end of it, Spencer was drenched in sweat. She came to a halt next to a fast food shop and leaned against the wall, bending over to put her elbows on her thighs. Her panting was loud and a bit raspy.

"Duuuuuude," she said, catching her breath. She let out a chuckle, then breathed in slowly and chuckled again. "That was..."

Of course he had to tempt fate. As he said to Spencer that she had done a good job, the cops started running after them again. They started aimlessly running between mortals to force the policemen to lose their trail, when Spencer saved him yet again by pulling him with her at a side alley. Reluctantly he let go of the sombrero, the glasses and the moustache -and l mean, he threw them as far as possible. Then Spencer instructed him to stick with her (easy), not run(he hoped he wouldn't) and look as angelic as possible (at which he couldn't help but chuckle). But of course, Spencer's mum decided to throw another police car at their way. Maybe it was a sign she didn't approve his hanging out with Spencer. Anyway, the appearance of the car caused them to keep running for what felt like eternity, but only waslike 20 minutes. Well, that isn't a little. At the end of it he was as sweaty as a horse and couldn't catch his breath. Spencer couldn't even finish her sentence, so he tried to do it for her. "Tiring? Intense? Weird as [CENSORED]? Close? Awesome? Little bit of all?" His feelings were quite mixed as well about all this. "How about l get us food? At any case we won't have to run for it." he said nodding towards the fast food restaurant.

    "Food. Food is good."

Spencer let her head bump back into the wall and closed her eyes, wiping the sweat from her face. "Do you think they have burritos?"

As it turned out, they had. Spencer took hers with a big bowl of guacamole and wearily bit into it, feeling the vegetables and salad crunch under her teeth. It felt. So. Good.

When she was halfway through, Spencer dropped her burrito into her plate and burst into a wild giggle. She couldn't speak for a good minute, tears forming at the corners of her eyes and her tummy hurting, but she finally managed to open her mouth and form coherent words. "This is the best freakiest day in the world," she chuckled, gasping for air.

When she mentioned burritos, he grinned. Damn right they'd get burritos, it was part of the plan to come here in the first place. He didn't evencrack a silly joke as they ordered -he was so tired and bored that he decided to get whatever Spencer would. Credit to her, it tasted good. As they ate, Spencer started laughing, and he was so tense himself by all this that he couldn't help but do the same. He couldn't hold himself, he laughed at the point he couldn't breathe and teared up. "Beyond that. It was freaking epic. And we're alive because of you, so... amazing job Spence. You should be tgiven the act of valour for this."

"Sombreros!" Spencer kept giggling, almost putting her head in the guacamole.

When finally she calmed down, she took her time wiping her eyes and bit into her burrito, still grinning. Her mind was putting the events on replay: the aquarium, the fight, running, H&M, the police, the "luck", running again... Oh my gods. It was so much, almost too much. Adrenaline was still coursing through her body and a part of her ...somehow wanted more of it. She had been dead scared, she had had to run for her life and her freedom, but she wanted more of it because of how intense it had made her feel, overcoming difficulties, finding her way out in seemingly hopeless situations, fighting and sticking together with a friend. Teamwork. That was what the Legion was about, after all.
It had made her feel more alive than when she won a race, which is saying something.

Smirking, Spencer turned to look at Phil, putting some more guacamole on her burrito. "Soooo. Prom, huh?" She chuckled. "Well, I can't really say no to someone who wears M&M boxers, right?" she grinned, directing her gaze down at his pants.

Phil burst into laughter again at the mention of sombreros by Spencer. That was the derpiest sht ever, he thought. If he ever sacrificed to a God willingly, it would be to Fortuna for her beautiful sense of humor. That thought led him to recall all the events of this really, really long day. The aquarium visit seemed too distant at the moment. Just thinking of all the running and fhigting just made him... want more of it. Granted getting his life at risk or getting constantly saved by Spencer weren't thrilling, but the intensity was. And he wanted more of it.

He blushed a bit at Sprncer's underwear remark. "Yeah, if l knew stuff would happen l wouldn't have worn my third most embarassing underwear." he tried to joke. "So, you're actually coming? That's great. Being there alone would suck and l wouldn't just stay at camp." he said. He was genuinely really happy Spencer had accepted, but not for the reasons he claimed to be.
