Starbucks Date[Me and Morgan]

Emily was actually in a pretty good mood today. She had finished training with a girl named Alice who was very violently good at fighting despite her cute exterior. She had a little bit of extra time to kill before her Starbucks date with one of her best friends in the entire world, Falko. The daughter of Aphrodite walked to her cabin, picking up some shrimp along the way for her cat, and went to shower and change quickly. She chose something comfy yet cute and grabbed her headphones as well as laptop before heading out of camp and sitting in her new VW Beetle. Flipping a switch and starting the engine her roof folded itself nicely away as she drove off into NYC and meet up at the usual Starbucks location at the very heart of the city. Sitting at one of the café tables while her Caramel Frappuccino was being prepared she opened her laptop and put on her headphones to try and get some editing done on her blog before the first week of the new year was over.

God bless her New York relatives. They were the reason Falko had been able to spend time at camp and meet up with friends during the holidays, just relaxing after a too long semester of high school.

Today was different though. She was actually nervous. That's right folks - the daughter of the god of terror was having the jitters. Because today was a big day : she'd be having coffee with Emily Myers -- just the two of them.

Now, at fourteen, Falko had had a couple of dates here and there, movies, lunch, etc, but her few date partners had all been guys. And Em, well, she'd be the first girl.

Oh come on, nobody said it was a date, her suspicious self thought.

But it's just the two of us! In Starbucks! Sanad said that coffee in Starbucks almost always means date.

She's a daughter of Aphrodite, she's not gonna hang out at Subway's.

Conflicted, the girl was making her way to the coffee shop. Finding what to wear had been a piece of work too -- she wanted to look great, but she didn't want to do too much. After all, if this wasn't a date, she shouldn't look ridiculous. So after forty-five minutes of tedious posing and cleaning out her wardrobe, she had finally chosen to wear a simple black top with a kilt, pairing those with neat black leggings and her favorite earring: a silver snake coiling all around her ear. It was more of an earcuff, really. She had put it on the shaved side of her head to make it stand out; hopefully Em would like it.

Breathing in deep, she turned around the corner and found herself on the doorstep of Starbucks. Quickly looking at her reflection, she checked on her make-up. Mascara hadnt run, eyeliner was on point. Pushing the door open, she walked into the warm, cozy shop, her hair still sprinkled with snowflakes, and went to get a drink. She glanced around, caught sight of Em, then immediately brought her gaze back on the menu as if she hadn't seen her. Her heartbeat had risen significantly. She looks fcking cute. Why does she always have to look so fcking cute? The queue wasn't long and soon she was walking over to Em's table, holding her hot cup of cinnamon Chai latte. The daughter of Aphrodite looked deep into her program so Falko softly touched her shoulder. "Hey there."

Emily felt a soft poke on her shoulder and beamed at Falko. Putting her headphones on her closed laptop the daughter of Aphrodite hugged her and laughed a little. It's about damn time. I thought you were about to ditch me. She said with a wink before going to grab her coffee and sit at the table. It was great to see the demigoddess again and as of late she was glad she had a friend around. Em had been having a slightly hard time with friends at camp so Falko was a saint. I wanna thank you again for meeting me here. It's nice to get away from camp with someone you're close to. She smiled and fiddled with the brim of her cup.

Falko grew a smile as Emily hugged her, her heartbeat going up a few other notches. She smelled of flowers and designer perfume.

Taking a seat in front of Em, Falko let the warmth of the cup seep into her frozen fingers. Damn was it cold outside, even for New York. "Oh, of course, Em," she said. She knew there was drama going on within the populars at camp -- as usual but this time it had something to do with Em. She didn't blame her for wanting to take a break. The Aphrodites were great, but they had this nasty habit of turning into Mean Girls every so often.

She replayed through her head what Em had just said. I wanna thank you again… It's nice to get away from camp with someone you're close to… Is she flirting with me?

She's just being friendly, calm down.

But she said we're close!

As friends, yes. Stop interpreting.

"I haven't been to camp in a few days myself, I was super busy with mortal family," Falko continued. "Sorry I didn't reply to your texts by the way. Has it gotten really bad?"

With a small laugh she smiled and shook her head. Don't worry about it Falko. Happens to the best of us. She smiled before looking around the coffee shop and looked back to the demigod. It was odd and yet very relaxing to finally get away from everyone and spend time with Falko, more so seeing her fidget in her chair at times. With a buzz of her phone the Aphrodite looked at it and frowned. Do you mind if I take this? She asked Falko.

"Not at all, go ahead," Falko replied, sipping her drink.

She was a tad bit worried though, what if the phone call attracted monsters? She didn't want this afternoon to be ruined by some demonic waiter, like last time, with Jack.

Even if one shows up, that'll be your opportunity to fight valiantly for your love, her sarcastic self thought. Which Aphrodite girl doesn't like some chivalry?

Shut up. She can more than take care of herself.

Emily gave a thankful smile and accepted the call. yeah dad......no i'm out with Falko......no dad that's Alice.....of course I know my own friends.....now......ugh alright but you owe me.....love you too dad. the daughter of Aphrodite hung up her phone and rolled her eyed before resting her forehead on the table. I hate Balls. They're so boring and Jason always flirts with me. She said muffled before placing her chin on the table and looking up at Falko. Do you want to come with me back to London tonight and attend this stupid ball my father is having for his work friends and such? She asked with those sad puppy eyes she would sometimes pull when she really wanted someone's help.

Falko patiently waited, pretending to look out of the window. Despite that she was still eavesdropping a little. Alice? The crazy girl? A jealous thought came to her mind: are they dating?

But no, people would know it if they were together. ...Right?

Absently stirring her drink a bit, she waited for Em to finish her phone call. She looked adorable with her chin on the table. However the question caught her off guard.

"A flight? ....To London, today? But, the plane tickets would cost a fortune!" Not to mention, her mother would most certainly say no. Falko didn't have the same financial means as Em, even if she and her mother weren't poor.

Em laughed a little as she took a drink of her coffee. Dad has his jet remember. It's flying here during the day and leaves this evening at like seven or eight so we can fly at night and get to London to sleep off what little jet lag we may have. Emily explained casually as if she just so happen to know how to cure jet lag and work herself into the know about plane flying and all that. Are you in or not? She asked curious, peering over the brim of her coffee as she took another drink, her piercing blue eyes framed perfectly in black.

"Oh… oh yeah, right," she mumbled, still surprised. She tended to forget how rich Em actually was. Of course she owned a jet. "Let me phone my mother about it real quick."

Gaining back her confidence, she took her phone out of her bag and flipped it open. It wasn't as sleek and modern as Em's, but she was fond of the thing even if she didn't use it much.

She had to listen to three awkward beeps before her mother finally took up. "Ciao Mamma," Falko said, "listen, you know I was meeting up with a friend? … From camp, yes. Well, she needs my help. I probably won't be coming home tonight, or tomorrow night, so don't worry about me. … Yes…. Yes, tell Ka-Seung. … Alright. … Oh, I almost forgot, I will need some supplies so I'll drop by real quick. … Yes, Mamma, will do. Gotta go now. Bye!"

She turned back to Em. "The moment I say it's about camp, everything's solved. It's a magic word." The Asian girl grew a smile. Em had invited her to a ball -- holy Aphrodite! Maybe something would happen… She spent a lot of her time daydreaming about what their first kiss would be like, and how she'd ask Em out, her heart aching a little every time she scrolled through her Facebook pictures. She was really nervous but really excited too.

"It's… really nice of you to invite me by the way. I feel really touched, I've never actually been to a ball before."

Emily beamed and clapped her hands fast in front of her before tapping away on her phone and grinning more. Don't pack any dresses. I'm taking you shopping when we land, no questions asked and no limit on money. Em said looking at Falko with a sort of gleam in her eye. She was ecstatic to have Falko go with her to the ball. if everything went smoothly she could have a good time with Falko and not have to worry about dumb Jason and his stupidity. Getting up she tossed her coffee cup in a nearby trashcan. Meet me at the airport at seven, so in about four hours. Pack whatever you want for the next few days but don't you dare pack a gown for the ball. Show the people at the gate this. The Aphrodite said as she handed Falko a card that had her father's name and some information regarding his business and all that fun stuff. They'll know your with me and dad and show you down to the jet. I recommend bringing something comfy to wear so you can sleep on the plane there and won't have jet lag. Gods this is so exciting! I'll see you at seven Falko. Emily said giving her a tight hug and rushing out of the coffee shop to go and start packing for her trip to London.

Falko was more and more nervous as she approached the airport, watching the tower grow nearer through the cab window. She was still in her date outfit, fidgeting on the back seat. What if something goes wrong? The cabbie pulled up sooner than she expected and she stepped out of the yellow car, paid him and went in, pulling her suitcase behind her. Now Falko often traveled, between Montreal and New York, Montreal and Seoul, Montreal and Milan, but this would be her first time going to the UK. London. The name made her think of Big Ben, gray rain and sarcastic politeness. Would she have to watch her manners a lot?

She went to the airport's info point to show the card Em had given her and was directed to the private section where a flight attendant escorted her outside to the jet. He was very polite, took care of her luggage and always called her Miss. It felt so weird. Is that what it's like, living in those circles of society?

The jet was impressive too. Gleaming and streamlined, it looked just like those you see in movies when the Bond villain has to fly somewhere. Falko felt her nervousness climb up a few other notches, but not because of the amount of wealth displayed in front of her. Em was there.

"Hey," she said, trying to bite back her jittery feelings. "Nice ride."

Emily watched as Falko approached the plane and smiled as she stood at the top of the steps. She had gotten to the airport an hour and a half earlier than what she told Falko in order to set everything up and make sure they had the best food on the flight. She had quit a bit of luggage this trip, mostly because she had clothes she needed to return to London and then bring different ones back so as to have season appropriate clothing for when she went outside of camp. It was interesting to learn as to what exactly would be going on at the ball but she declined to share that information with Falko, seeing as she knew it may upset her or change her mind. Smiling as her munchkin cat walked up next to her the Daughter of Aphrodite scooped her up and walked down the stairs to greet her friend.Thanks. I've been meaning to take her out back home but never had the chance. I see Thomas has helped you with your bags. She smiled gesturing to her fathers servant. With one of her many ringed fingers Emily began scratching her lovely cat behind the ears and earning a loving set of purrs.

"Aww, your cat's so cute!" Falko chirped, stroking the fluffy fur. She loved cats, she too had one at home, a black one named Tim. Well, Timore, but Tim for short. She quickly glanced at Em. Gosh, her top. The girl was always beautiful but black and denim gave her a punk-ish look that just made Falko melt.

"I don't have that much stuff, really. Just one suitcase and a backpack. Didn't really know how long we'd stay." The daughter of Deimos passed a hand through the hair, which fell in messy streaks down one side of her face. "Is your father taking the plane with us?"

Emily shook her head.No, dad has to be in London for planning and preparing seeing as the Prime Minister is going to be there with his ghastly son.She said as she turned on her heel and walked up the stairs in front of Falko and into the cabin of the private jet, sitting on one of the long leather couches and letting her cat run around and do whatever it is she would wish to do. Come on Falko! She shouted her accent very noticeable now. We need the whole day to go shopping and we need our rest.

"Sh!t, the Prime Minister?" She couldn't believe her ears. How well-connected were the Myers in reality, she wondered as she followed her into the plane.

Well, fck me. The inside of the jet was as sumptuous as the outside. Outfitted with chestnut and crystal lamps, it sported comfortable leather couches, a minibar and a flat TV screen. Falko stood there for a moment, a little agape, before catching herself and taking a seat in front of Em.

"So… this is how you live, huh," she said after a moment with a little smirk.

Emily watched as Falko tried to take in the lavish lifestyle her father had given her. yes for the most part. The manor is something of an obnoxious eye sore but the country home is absolutely my favorite place to take my friends. She explained as the door to the jet was pulled shut and the engines started while another smaller vehicle towed the jet towards the runway. What I must say about this matter is to avoid the Prime Minister's son, James, at all costs. He will for sure come after me at first but if he catches me and I brush him off he'll go hunting for new prey. Emily said annoyed and slightly angry at the last bit.

Falko nodded. "Alright. What's this James chap like, got a picture?"

The jet arrived at its take-off spot and Em's personal flight attendant came in to check on their seatbelts and ask if everything was alright. Then the plane gradually accelerated until the front lifted up and they soared into the air. Looking out of the window, Falko watched the white shape of the JFK airport grow smaller and smaller, the cars roaming around like busy little ants. Off to the UK. She still couldn't quite believe it actually. It had been so unexpected and everything had happened so fast! The daughter of Deimos turned back to Em as they broke the sheet of clouds, the sky turning a bright, intense blue. Sunlight filled the cabin, making Em's hair glow. Gods, she's so beautiful. "How long did you say this flight lasts?"

You can probably find hundreds of pictures of him on the internet. She said as she pulled out her own phone and began texting her friends from the UK. They were ecstatic to be able to see her again in regards to the ball tonight and seeing her again. There was no way in hell she was missing tonight, especially since some of her friends were demigods and would find a way to contact her if she didn't go. Looking back at Falko she shrugged. I would say about ten hours but I honestly don't know. It's night time there so I suggest sleeping. Emily said as she pulled out her pajamas and went to the bathroom to change into her clothes, returning a few moments later in Slytherin sweatpants, which were clearly men's seeing as how they hung on her, a Pierce the Veil tank top and her thick frame hipster glasses on. She hated wearing contacts to sleep and had decided to go with her glasses. The daughter of Aphrodite pulled her hair up into a messy bun and sat back down on the couch across from Falko, picking up Lily and pet her a little before smiling at Falko.

Sleeping? As if a hyperactive demigod who had lived all her life in a flat (a nice and modern one, yes, but still a flat) could possibly sleep in some multimillionaire's jet! She was far too excited.
Nonetheless she changed into her own night clothes, a black tee and a pair of cotton shorts, and sat down cross-legged on her couch. She had an urge to turn on the TV, raid the minibar, or climb around on the sofas, but that would probably keep Em from sleeping. So the Asian simply threw her parka over herself as a kind of blanket and put one headphone in, blasting a bit of Bring Me The Horizon and Mayday Parade while Em was in the bathroom. She tried not to think too much about that.
When finally she came out, Falko smiled at her shirt. "I love that band," she said.
Leaning back down on her own sofa, she tried to find it in her to sleep. She couldn't, even if it the sun was starting to set. Out of the window, she could see the first star. Her fingers drummed around on the leather, not really following the beat of the songs. How could she possibly sleep?  Turning her face slightly, she caught Emily smiling at her, petting the cat. She smiled back. "Can't really sleep to be honest," Falko chuckled. "This is my first pajama party on a jet."

Believe me, they aren't any more exciting than sleeping at the cabin for the first time at camp. She said casually before setting Lily on the floor and laying on the couch, looking almost like an Angel from Victoria Secret. She could have been one once, the demigoddess was offered a contract there but declined them because she was about to leave home for camp again.And I quit like PTV as well, I got to meet them before and after a concert once. They are absolutely lovely. She admitted before getting up and grabbing a bottle of red wine from the minibar and pouring herself one. She took it in her hand and sat back down facing Falko. It's one of the only times I'm allowed to drink, is for a ball. She said as she took a sip and smiled and she swallowed.

Falko remembered her first night at camp. She had slept on the floor in a smelly sleeping bag, sandwiched between two other unclaimed, one of which had snored into her face the whole night. Not exactly as magical as sitting on a private plane with your crush and a bottle of red.

"You got to meet Pierce The Veil?" she exclaimed, sitting up. "Oh my gods you're so lucky!"

But as she said that, she knew that luck had nothing to do with it. When you were as rich as Em… these things were normal, she figured. It was a little bitter to think about it so she watched Em pour herself some wine.

"None for me," she said. Her mother had taught her not to drink alcohol as part of the diet she put on her. Her mother was a professional gymnast and worked as a contortionist; she was all about complex carbohydrates. She had always taught Falko a strict alcohol abstinence policy, insisting that, with her metabolism (which was the word she used to describe her demi-divinity), alcohol could have …unwished consequences.

"Who else is going to attend that ball?" she wondered, taking a sandwich out of her bag. When she had gotten home, she had found that her mother had already prepared all her supplies: clothes, first aid kit, water purifier, and food. All she had had to do was grab the luggage.

I actually won them in a raffle so yeah I was lucky. The demigod laughed as she swirled her wine in the glass slightly and take another sip of the cool liquid. It wasn't strong by any means but it was a good starter for the ballroom. Granted it would be champagne but still, it was nice to have at least one glass for sure. Everyone my dad knows will be there in all honesty. It's more of a business ball than one that needs to have celebrities there and all. I think we may have Two Steps From Hell there though. They write such amazing ballroom music and it would be a lovely thing to have. Emily explained as she took the last little sip of wine and set her empty glass down, grabbing a bottle of soda now. She didn't want to get drunk or tipsy by any means but still, she wanted something to drink.

Falko bit into her turkey sandwich, the cucumber slices crunching. Best if she stopped asking all those question about the ball, else she was going to faint.
She didn't know what was up with her. She fought monsters for a living but attending on high society ball made her nervous? Wow. What would Mom say? Well fortunately she didn't know where she was off to, else she'd have insisted on her wearing her hanbok.

You look a little shaken, Falko. Are you sure you want to go through with the ball? Emily asked as she moved next to the demigod and held her hand in her own. She didn't want to force her to go do anything she didn't want and was more than happy to let her stay in the manor and not go to the ball. Hell, that meant she could use the excuse of having a friend over and leaving the ball at various times when she wasn't feeling like dealing with James and his antics.
