She could remember why she had come to the camp, why she could make things move with her mind, and why she had a sword strapped to her side. Jinx looked up at her as if to say See? Told you so. Astrid ignored him and sat on her bunk, taking in her memories.

I start before Shrike could say anything, knowing he could make it worse. Well, if there was anything bad that is.

I sigh, and follow him in slowly, taking care not just stride in rudely.

"Thanks for coming. It was really nice of you, and I'm sorry for running away after the spiders. I was just so confused and . . . well, I came here and my memory returned." Astrid shrugged half heartedly. Her head was spinning and she was having trouble breathing from the shock of her discovery.

"We all have bad curses. Me? I emit pure terror that I have to try and remember to relinquish from people," I said sorrowfully. "Before I learnt how to control it through emotional training, people wouldn't come near me. Nature and animals rejected me. I was alone. So I know how hard it is to have something which hinders you but is out of your control, so you can talk to me about it you know?"
