Re: Astrid's Bunk
"I despise fear," Dorian said, narrowing his eyes. "And no matter what you say I will always remove it when possible. I've had enough fear for a lifetime," he finished, pointing at his hair which was completely white, the mark of fear present.

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Astrid opened her mouth to protest, then closed it. She was recalling something a friend of hers had once told her: Different strokes for different folks was how he had worded it. "Dorian, I respect your belifes. I'd just prefer it if you asked my permission before removing my fear. I know you meant well, though, and I'm glad you cared enough to use your magic on me."

"It's nothing," Dorian shrugged. "Like I said, I remove it when possible, but I shall refrain from doing it without permission in the future."

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Astrid smiled. "Thank you." in an effort to change the subject, she asked tentatively: "did you know the Spanish person back in the infirmiry?"

"No... but... she's got me thinking," Dorian sighed. "She was in there for a reason, and I'm not sure if it was all good intentions."

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Astrid's eyes darkened imperceptibly. "I doubt she had come to wish us well in recoveries. Sje seemed very intersested in the girl called Skylar."

"The spanish girl?" Astrid's stomach curdled with distaste.

"Yes. It is the only way to get to the bottom of it," Dorian said. "And don't worry, if you're scared I can always simply remove the fear."

"I'm not scared. Let's find her." Astrid grabbed her axes and stood up.

Re: Astrid's Bunk
"She seemed to be righteous and intimidating... let's try the cabin for Nemesis first," Dorian said, getting up and walking to the door to leave.

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Astrid walked in and took her book out of her bag.
That's right, it's your book now. Her demon said quietly.
Astrid set the book on her desk and collapsed into her chair. She waited for a minute, staring at the book. Then she opened it. Instantly, the words written there leapt off the page and pounced at her. They swirled around her and she valiently tried to bat them away, but it was no use. One hit Astrid square in the forehead and she collapsed, unconscious. The words immeadiatly snapped back onto the page like nothing had happened, leaving Astrid lying on the floor, turning paler and paler as blood dripped from her mouth, nose, and ears.

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Dorian knocked on the door, and waited, it sounded like there was movement inside, but he frowned when he heard a loud bang, as if something was hitting wood...
"Astrid?" he called, but became worried when she didn't answer, and took a few steps back, charging at the door with his shoulder, smashing through the wooden thing, and coming inside to see Astrid lying on the floor, blood over her face. "Astrid!"
He rushed over to her, and and tried to do whatever he knew (or whatever he could) to help.

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Astrid slowly opened her eyes. The world was bright and blurry, like an out-of-focus camera. She tried to speak, but her vocal cords wouldn't behave somehow, not to mention the fact that she had a mouthful of blood. She spat it out and sat up, reaching her arms out. Astrid whipped her head wildly back and forth, in an effort to pick out a familiar object, but nothing jumped out at her. Her bunk was a nondescript blurry blob.

Re: Astrid's Bunk
"Astrid!" Dorian said, reaching out for her flailing hands, holding them, and then reaching forth, and kissing her slowly on the lips, before then hugging her, and whispering in her ear," Its me."

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Astrid was hyperventilating. She reached out and felt Dorian's face. Then she wrapped her arms around Dorian and held him. "Dorian." she said in a whisper, finding she could speak. "I can't see."

"What?" Dorian asked, getting extremely worried, and sweating. "No, no no no, you must be able to see... You can see!"

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Astrid shook her head rapidly. "No, I can't see. It's bright, so bright . . . what am I going to do if I can't see?"

Re: Astrid's Bunk
Dorian panicked.
"No, no no no, it must be a faze... its not permanent... it will fade. It must fade!"

Re: Astrid's Bunk
"Haha, fade . . . geddit? Like vision fading to black? Actually, everything's bright, not dark, but it would've made a stellar pun." Astrid said quietly, chuckling in her hysteria. then she started to cry again. "Oh, Dorian, what am I gonna do if I'm blind??"
