I look up weakly. I fire a rainbow at it, chopping only the end of its tail off. It writhed in pain. Lunge at it, climb up it's back onto its head. I blind it with my sword. It writhed around, wildly attacking both me and Jake

"Hey," Zayden said, wondering what he could say to console this kid. "I know it's not easy and all, but something tells me you'll be able to get through it." Dereck didn't reply. He thought that Zayden would never understand the sacrafices the his father made to be with Dereck and make his son happy. Dereck couldn't forget any of that...couldn't get over his father's death.
