The Date (Kate and GErran, PRIVATE)

Gerran sighed and kissed her out of the blue. He'd take her out of the film in a minute.

GErran abandoned his popcorn and took her hand. "Come on," he whispered and led her from the cinema.

Gerran hailed a cab and got inside. He smiled at Kate and helped her inside. "I know a place that's amazing. Come on."

"You gotta wait," GErran grinned. He had told the driver where to go and he knew she'd like it. "It's so beautiful."

"My friends are wild," he laughed and as soon as the taxi stopped he leapt out, taking her with him. "Come on."

He turned corners and finally lead her up a fire escape. "You're going to love this."

Once the reached the top, Gerran held his hand over Kate's eyes. He led her over to the edge of the building, keeping her a good two meters away from the wall just in case she threw herself from it. There were plants all around them and it smelled heavenly. The lights of the city were ahead of them, looking just stunningly breath taking. He knew she'd like it.

Gerran smiled. "Told you. This place was set up by a bunch of kids I know who wanted somewhere safe and somewhere peaceful in the city. If you look behind the plants, you'l see the grafitti. There's a bench swing over here if you want to come sit. We can go eat soon if you like."

He led her to the swing and smiled. "Come on. It's safe."

He sat on it himself to prove it. It was big enough for two.

"I always dreamed about these lights. You should see the ones back home. So beautiful. Randomly placed and stuff but beautiful..."

I didn't understand what he said, but I pretended I did.

"Hey, Kate? One day," said the Brit, "I have to take you to the UK. So you can see my home town... Well, city. I'm from a city."

"Hey. You still have to tell me what's wrong?" he said, picking it up yet again. "No dodging. I can't enjoy myself on our date if I know a part of you isn't. Tell me what's wrong. I promise I won't get angry."
