Life Before CHB*: Ivan lived with his uptight, selfish mother. She sent Ivan away to boarding schools countless times. When Ivan was 15 almost 16 his mother took him on a trip, dropping him off in the middle of no where. Ivan angry at his mother he then decided he would never go back, not like he could find his way back anyway. Ivan came across a huge hill and started climbing and then he realized the location of a camp, Camp Half Blood.
RP Example*: Ivan gasped for breath. He hated running, he was more of the i can lift 3,000 pounds kind of guy, not the run for your life kind of guy. The monster was still behind him, it wouldn't go away. It was driving him crazy, he was going to die if that monster didn't go away. Ivan needed to keep his mind focused, get towards that hill as fast as possible and not die.
Any notes about your characters: Not on good terms with his mom, doesn't like mentioning his family life.

That's not really a life before CHB. Think of it more like a history. It doesn't need to be written as if it were a RP either, you can do, but its not necessary, only the RP example requires that. But try and write that as more of a biography, give details of whats happened in Ivan's life.

It depends on how much he weighs. Hephaestus isn't really known for "a lot of strength." That would be Cratus.
