The Mess Hall

Taylor walked into the mess hall looking for Mila. Seeing she was not here, he took a random seat and awaited her.

Mila walked into the mess hall she looked around for Taylor. She found him and walked over to the table. "Hey." Mila gulped and sat down. She was nervous, what if she said the wrong thing or did the wrong thing and he called of the date. She simply kept her mouth shut and hoped that the date would go by smoothly.

Taylor had begun building a tower out of the cups on the table. Mila arrived and he stood up. "Milady, it is nice to see you have arrived." He took a bow and hit his head on the table. Taylor straightened up grinning then took his seat. "Well I'm glad you made it. It would of looked bad if you left me all alone."

"Sorry I ran I to some more Aphrodite trouble on the way here." Mila smiled at Taylor and placed a strand of her loose hair behind her ear. "I see you were doing well with entertainment while I was gone. " Mila pointed to the stack of cups and giggled.

Taylor glanced from Mila to the tower of cups then back to Mila. He shrugged, "It amused me for a while." He slid his chair right next to Mila's. "So you ran into some Aphrodite kids huh?"

Mila bit her lip and rubbed the back of her neck. "Yeah they were giving me some crud."

"Tune them out." Taylor said. He began to rearrange the silverware in different arrangements. "That's what I do to people I don't like." He dropped a spoon on the floor, He bent down and picked it up. "Unless you do like listening to them, then don't tune me out instead." He blew off the spoon and set it back on the table.

Mila laughed. "I usually don't listen to them. At the basketball courts that was the only time they broke me." Mila looked at Taylor and smiled.

"Well that's good." Taylor stopped moving the silver ware. A cheeseburger with fries appeared on the plate before him. He took a fry. "Key to gaining muscle is to eat right after to work out." He tossed the fry into his mouth. He picked up another one. "Want one?"

Mila chuckled and grabbed a fry, she plopped it into her mouth. "Mmm."

Blue PowerAde appeared in the cup. "I don't think I asked you who your godly parent is. I assume it is some air god because of the lightning." He took a bite of the burger and a drink of the PowerAde.

"Astrape." Mila picked up a goblet and whispered. "Iced tea." She took a sip of the drink and smiled. "Who's your god parent?"

Astrape? Right the goddess of lightning. Not many kids with her as a parent. "Hecate, goddess of magic." Taylor said, making a little magic flash with his hand. "Ta-da." He smiled and took another sip.

Mila smiled as he did the trick. "That was cool." Her salad came to the table and she poured some ranch dressing on it. "I've always admired Hecate and her children," Mila peered at Taylor and blushed.

"Well yeah, we are pretty cool and handsome," Taylor noticed Mila's blush. "Mom's pretty mysterious though, never really know what she's up to." He finished his burger and his PowerAde refilling itself.

"Yeah it's hard not being able to see your god parent. " Mila sighed and took another drink of her tea.

Taylor's ADHD kicked in and he began rearranging anything he could get his hands on. "But they're the gods, I understand they don't have time for us mortals. They have their godly duties to do." Not that Taylor wished he saw his mother more often, it would probably just be inconvenient for her to visit him.

Mila looked at the table as he rearranged the silverware then the napkins. "You okay Taylor?"

Taylor looked up at her, "Demigod problems. ADHD and stuff. It's hard for me to sit still." He took a long drink. "Sports help with the ADHD. Keeps me moving."

Mila put a hand on his shoulder. "That's why I played sports too."

Taylor glanced at Mila hand then at her face, "You know you are pretty good at basketball. You should come try for the girls team when I go to try for the boys team. Good date activity." He tilted his head towards her.

Mila let go of his shoulder and smiled. "I'm not sure. What if I don't make the team." She looked down at her hands.

Taylor grabbed her hands, "Don't let not making a team get you down." He tilted her head up so it was looking him in the face. "The greatest NBA player of all time, Michael Jordan, didn't make the first team he tried for. It gave him the motivation to become the best." Taylor smiled. "And besides if the coaches don't take you it's there loss."

Mila smiled and looked up at him. He's perfect "Well maybe I can try out." Mila chuckled.

Taylor saw the confidence in her dark blue eyes, "That's the attitude! You'll be the all-star of the team." He grinned and finished off the last of his PowerAde. He flipped the cup upside down on the table.
