Gaurding like a bossess

"I think the Red hot chilli peppers are alright though I honestly don't care." I said. I scanned the area, checking for monsters.

I laugh "oh?" I switch my iPod to journey and turn it up "listen to some music that firs this city"

I smiled a bit and let my ears just merely hear the lyrics, beats. I still kept on the look out because if a monster got in Rome it will all be our fault.

She smirked "you like journey?"

I shrugged. "I like any music. I don't really care." I replied.

Lindia grinned and looked at her "eh"

I continued to look out and sort of - just nearly - admire the features below. From the lonely tree to the single yellow car waiting in the long line of rumbling cars. I played eye spy by myself in my head. It was really boring. I sighed quietly and rested my sword down beside my lap.

"Ever been to Alcatraz?" Lindia asked as she looked over towards San Francisco.

"Alcatraz?...huh" I said as if it was some sort of joke. I knew it wasn't though I sort of felt like laughing. "No, I haven't and honestly I do not get why anyone would, isn't it a prison of some sort?" I said. I wasn't meant to say that but I guess the words just flowed out of my mouth. I small moment of silence passed as I took a small breath of air. "What about you?" I asked, expecting no answer.

"Alcatraz used to be a Spanish fort, then it was a prison, now it's a national many meant. Yes I have been there. Yes I have been in the haunted cell. And yes, it's bloody awesome" Lindia laughed a little "the morgue was interesting too, I had to leae a corpse in there" Lindia didn't mention tat it was a corpse of a monster though

I sort of felt uncomfortable though I didn't let it show, I just let myself relax. I looked at the scenery and tried to look a little harder. I could just see the more mortal place. Where normal people do normal things away from the abnormal village.
It sort of made me think of home in our huge Victorian house with my dad... That wasn't ever going to happen. Especially when he's dead.
I tried to avert myself away from those thoughts and tried to talk. "So, what's your favorite place?" I asked.

Lindia paused a moment, then decided that some small talk wouldn't be too bad, especially when it could reveal some information that might be beneficial to her or Laure. "It depends..." The dirty blonde mused after a moment, not looking at the other girl but instead setting her spear besides her and drawing her black crossbow, unfolding it so it was fully assembled and ready as she began to clean it.

"In California? United States? Earth?" Lindia chuckled a bit, slightly enjoying herself with the acting.

She had started to clean her crossbow. She sort of answered my question though I knew that she was most likely trying to avoid opening up. I didn't mind. It was nice just to talk in some way rather than it being one big awkward situation, where nobody talks and are like statues.
I decided to say my favorite place. "I think that my favorite place is home." I said, if she wasn't opening up then I shall copy. The quote monkey see monkey do skimmed through my mind. I laughed to myself, on the inside.

Lindia's hands paused when she mentioned her home, her grip tightening on the crossbow until she remembered to relax so the weapon didn't warp and break apart in her hands. "...that's nice, I prefer San fransisco, Venice, France...." Lindia said, even though her Detroit style accent was the most visible in her tone right now. She wasnt going to mention Detroit at all, she had issues with that place.

I moved off the topic. She was obviously uncomfortable with the home subject. I decoded to just let the music fill the silence. I observed the ground, noticing a small beetle squirming along the dead flowers. I sighed and grew the flowers again so that they were fresh and luscious. The diminutive dark beetle crawled through the petals. It made me happy.

I glanced at her and noticed she had gone quiet. "So...not much of a chatbox now ?" She asked with a sky smil before changing her music to some late nineties.

I laughed quietly. "Whatever." I said as the music was changed. It reminded me of the music her dad played and how he would urge her to dance with him. He was quite odd.
I decided to ask her a less... personal question. "What's your favourite music?" I asked her, my dark blue eyes waiting for an answer.

I glanced at her, my lighter blue eyes clashing with the dark ones if hers. "Classic rock is why I prefer. And how about you?" She grinned, chuckling as her eyes looked over the skyline of Oakland.

I shrugged. "I guess I like rock 'n' roll as well as classic rock too." I replied to her. "I guess I like anything that... sounds good." I added to my answer. "I would have to say that my favourite band is the red hot chilli peppers and I guess the rolling stones as well... how 'bout you?" I asked her.

"Queen, Journey, Zepplin, Guns'in roses, Beatles..." Lindia laughed as she listed off bands on her fingers. "acDc is good too you know" she added and brushed her hair behind her eyes before continuing to polish her weapon.

"Yeah, basically every rock and roll band is good." I said, smiling. I was glad that I had at least found out her favourite bands. "What about your favourite song... or songs?" I asked her. Since she listed off so many bands I was guessing she liked a long list of songs. While I waited till she replied I started to wonder what the time was...

Lindia shrugged and looked up at the darkening sky. "Depends on my mood, but I like the song Kashmir" she smirked and switched to the heavy rock sounds of the great Zepplin.

"I'm like that to sometimes..." I said to her as the song changed again, this time to Led Zeppelin. Sometimes I wondered why I knew all this stuff about rock n roll and why I don't prefer modern day songs. I started to hum the lyrics to the song that played. I didn't know much of the lyrics though I didn't care.

Lindia began to shake her head into the best of the song before sighing as she folded her crossbow again and place it back on her person. "I really wish I had brought my bass and amplifier, I could be rocking out to this stuff" She groaned and began to hum along as well, loving this song.

"you play bass? that's awesome." I said and continued to hum. I wondered what Reyna would think if she saw us right now. I smirked at the thought. We would be dead romans.
