Name: Ren (Renise) Blake
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Dark brown
Height: 5’8”
Body Type: Slender
Skin Color: Tan
God Parent: Lethe
Mortal Parent: Forcas Blake
Country of Origin: United States of America
Pets: None. She had a cat back at home, though.
Talents: Ren is a talented artist. She’s always loved drawing her own characters and making up settings. She is good at climbing and is a decent swimmer.
Weapon: A small Stygian Iron dagger she’s nicknamed Needle.
Personality: Ren lies somewhere between the realms of introvert and extrovert. She can be quiet, but she likes talking to people if they want to talk to her. She tries not to be mean to new people, and she won’t hold a grudge. Her humor is very sarcastic and sometimes a bit dark, though she always tries to point out that she’s making a joke. This sometimes makes for awkward situations, as pointing out a joke often nullifies its humorous value. She’s also what you’d consider a tomboy. She doesn’t much care for stereotypically “girly” pursuits and much prefers playing old-school RPGs or climbing trees. She is childishly enthusiastic and has an optimistic worldview.
Flaws: Ren is forgetful. She’s bad at remembering names, bad at remembering obligations, and bad at remembering facts for school. You name it, she’s likely bad at remembering it. She also has a tendency to slip off into her own little dream world and not pay attention to things, becoming lazy and unmotivated if she doesn’t find the current situation interesting enough. She sometimes has difficulty making decisions and staying organized. Also, she sometimes overestimates her own physical ability, which has led to a few broken bones over the years from attempted stunts.
Powers(must relate to god parent; optional): She can make people forget things that have happened in the past 24 hours, and she can make them forget up to half an hour’s worth of memories. It can be resisted easily if the target knows she’s doing it or is thinking about that memory, and she can only do it to one person at a time if she is within twenty feet of them. The power doesn't erase memories, it just makes the target forget about them, so the memory would likely resurface if there was physical proof that the erased memory happened. If the target concentrates on what happened before and after the lost memory, they can get the general gist of the memory again, and others with mind-related powers could pull back a full version. It is easier to get the memory back if it is something important to the target. It has a cooldown of 24 hours for each use on one person.
Life Before Camp: Ren lived with her father in a suburb in Massachusetts for the first eleven years of her life. All she knew about her mother was that she had left soon after Ren’s birth. Her father was a teacher at a local high school. He was something of a workaholic, which meant Ren got left alone quite a lot. She didn’t mind all that much and used the free time to neglect homework and draw or play. She attended the local elementary and middle schools until seventh grade. She was neither popular nor unpopular, having a small circle of friends. When she was twelve, she ran into a hellhound when she was walking home from school one day. Her friend, who was actually a satyr, stepped in and fought it, then brought her to Camp Half Blood.
RP Example*: Ren sighed and looked down at the paper in front of her. She could not for the life of her remember the capital of Ohio. Or Illinois, or Nevada, or Texas, or any of these boring states, really. She flipped the paper over to find more questions, this time about regions. Thoughts came to mind about how unimportant it was to remember all of this stuff when Google was something that existed. She glanced up at the clock, shaking her head. She had two answers down that were likely wrong, and she only had ten minutes left to complete the quiz. Well, looks like I’m out of luck, she thought. Another F couldn’t bring her down if that was already her average, right?
Notes: She’s always had a fascination with the macabre, and she loves horror stories. She prefers to wear her hair up and out of the way.
