Accidental beheadings (private)

Phil had a feeling he wouldn't survive this. He had got paired up with an experienced fighter, it was fair to say. An optio. A girl. And one that seemed to be fairly tough in general. Well, maybe if he joked enough she would spare his life and adopt him as a pet ot a slave or something like that. That would be more fun than walking around with his head on a plate. In Underworld.

Of course he didn't let on anything. He tried to act serious -and failed horribly. He wouldn't pay a lot of attention at the demonstration, which was rather unfortunate. In the end he grinned at her. "Sup?"

She was fairly good looking. Of course that wasn't important at all. She scared him quite a lot. Though he just said: "After you, love." and lifted his gladius in a battle stance.

OOC: When Tiberia kicks his ass, Phil will totally steal something she considers valuable... what would it be?

BIC: "OK, love. I'll be calling you what from now on, then?" he said with a smug grin on his face. He held his sword a little closer to properly, as she went for a slow stab on his side. Even he could parry it with some ease. Well, that didn't mean she couldn't just kill him any second now. Though, that was the meaning of sparring, right? He went for a similar hit, though on the opposite direction since he was left handed.


She looked really serious and he couldn't stand it. She was focused solely on the fight, while he was focused on every detail behind her, and his ADHD almost begged him to start speaking. As if sword fight wasn't enough to keep him distracted.

"So, lo-, I mean, ma'am, for people that are... not too skilled with a sword, what alternatives are there?

Tiberia aimed a hard hit at his stomach with the pommel of her gladius then a strong slap at the back of his knees with the flat of her blade, enough to knock his breath out briefly and make him stumble backwards to the ground.

"Tiberia," she said. Gods she hated him already. "For those who're not skilled with the sword, the alternatives are get better or die. We can't afford losers in our ranks."

OOC: omg her wax tablets.

OOC: OMG I WAS SO BLIND!

BIC: That had hurt. Maybe less talking next time. Just kidding. More talking. The more he angried her, he loved it. He got up and smiled. "Fine, then l shall call you Tiberia."

He actually went for a good enough hit, with the flat part of his sword in her shoulder. Just enough to... irritate her. Yeah, that'd be nice. Especially since her words had hurt him. He didn't like being reminded he was inferior. And he was being reminded a lot. His eyes lit up with rage. "Too bad, cause I'm not a fighter, I'm a deceiver, LOVE."

Well, he had succeeded in angering her. Yay... then again, he had to clean up the whole Via Principalis. He wondered if he would be death sentenced if he kept angering her. Well, there is only one way to find out.

"What wounds, Tibs?" he said with a wink. "I promise that the whole Via will as flawless as your skin." If he had read her well enough, she wasn't one for corny conpliments. Well, unless the guy is 6'4 with muscles steel and sex appeal that was. So he'd hopefully piss her off enough.

The slash had hurt him. A lot. And l'm not talking about physical injuries. It hurt his pride. Her attitude made him feel unaccepted. The fact that he had caused this for the most part was irrelevant. All he wanted is revenge. And he would hopefully get it. What he decided was not to give her the pleasure of hurting him. When she slashed him, he concentrated fully on not exclaiming in pain. Surprisingly, he succeeded and just gritted his teeth.

"Alright, Tiberia. As you command." he said and mockingly stood at attention. Then he went on and picked his sword back up. He would try the same disarming move probably that she did. Though he wasn't thrilled about attacking, having seen what she could do firsthand.

Leandra and her partner for the duel had already finished. A fairly short fight, mainly because they were next to Tiberia and that new Probatio, Phil, and that fight was too amusing to keep fighting more than halfheartedly on their own.

Leandra leaned over to the 5th cohort legionnaire. "5 denarii says your boy ends up in the infirmary." She said, already taking a mental count of how much ambrosia she had with her today.

Phil blinked hard. Okay, maybe he had oversetimated himself a little. As she slapped him with her blade, -luckily in the chest- he blinked hard. Then she commented that he should keep his back straight. He chuckled. "Who are you, my mother?" He though did as told. Before he would attack back, he heard the other girl's comment about him ending up in the infirmary. He heated up with rage.

"Oh, shut up!" he snapped towards her. He then turned to Tiberia and trying to once again do the disarming thing, this time more properly. Hopefully.

He decided to continue the sparring a bit more obediently, since Tiberia didn't seem much tolerant. She showed him some more stuff, but he thought it was visible he wasn't made for swordfighting. It was a bit visible at Tiberia's expression too- or was it anger at him in general? Not gonna find out, he thought chuckling to himself.

When they were finally over, he leaned over at her and in a fakely flirty voice he wishpered at her "You are really good at this. And l'm sure it's not the only thing." He knew that her anger and disgust for him would distract her, as he got his hand in her pocket and with a faster-than-love move got something out of her pocket. He didn't even see what, as he hid it in his pocket. Its substance was weird. Maybe, wax?
