Lamps and stuff (private)

She shook her head. "If that's one of your actual keys, I don't recommend using it as a storage for your weapon. People got wounded like that. No, I could make you a random key that you just put on your keychain, and put a spell that makes it always come back to you. Good enough for you?"

Ryan shrugged. "Works for me."

She showed him a few forging tricks whilst melting the key into a mould, then added a few pinches of fine turquoise powder into it just as it was starting to cool down. Mumbling a prayer to Hephaestus, she sprayed a cooling liquid onto the key, took it out with tongs, then put both the key and the sword into the syncer.

"Shouldn't be more than a few minutes," she told Ryan, cracking open another can of coke. "Want one?"

As Sawyer did this, Ryan took a seat on an unoccupied bench, waiting for Hephaestus' girl to get the key set up. "Sure."

She tossed him a can of soda and chatted with him while waiting for the syncing to be done. When she opened the machine again, the key had disappeared, only the sword was there. Sawyer grabbed the blade, threw it up in the air and opened her hand. The key fell right into her palm.

"Here you go, Michaels," she said. "Good job on that forging."

"Why thank you." Ryan bowed and took the key, slipping it into his pocket. "For the record, I did learn from the best."

She cracked a genuine smile at the compliment and bowed her head. "Then it's time for payment." Striding over to her workbench, she grabbed a huge modern ax and swung it over her shoulder. "Arena?"

Oh, an axe. Great... Sweat starting to form on his brow, Ryan wasn't sure how this would go down - and wasn't favoring himself to win. "Of course. Meet you there in 30?"

She gave him a thumbs up. "See ya there."
