Just Two Funny People (Private)
Dire sat on the beach just trying to drown out the day. He is wearing a pair of aviators, his Camp Half-Blood t-shirt with the sleeves cut off [partially to show off his arms to any unsuspecting girl who was single AND because it was HOT], a pair of cargo shorts and some sandals. He looks as if he doesn't want to be at the beach, but he can't go anywhere.

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
Annalise thought it was time to call it quits as a massive wave came crashing down on top of her, pushing her down into the small pool of water. Wearing a bright light blue one piece that brought out her tan olive skin, her mop of curls were pulled into a loosely made French braid. Walking back to her towel, she picked up the small spare one she brought and wiped away the droplets of water hanging from her face. She noticed a camper nearby and offered him her signature pearly white smile and a small wave before sitting down on her spread out beach towel. She popped open a Seventeen magazine and started to browse.

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
Dire's eyes widened when her smile was sent his way, he looked around as if he was mistaking the smile for another person. He muttered to himself "Whoa..." Then decided it was time to show off his skills, or so he thought anyways. He took off his glasses and avoided all eye contact with Annalise as if he was trying to hide them. He took his shirt off, grabbed a surf board, and mumbled "I've never done this in my life..." Out of earshot. He used his gathered knowledge of the movie Soul Surfer and the other campers who surfed, started WAY too big and surfed a massive wave. He actually did well for a the first 30 seconds, until he got too confident. He tried to do a flip off the side of a wave, and lost the board in the sand, on the beach. As he fell into the waves he yelled a curse in Ancient Greek and went underwater. After a good 30 seconds, he popped back up with seaweed draped over his head, and a starfish on the side of his face. "Worst. Mermaid. Ever." He said as he trudged up to the beach, "I hope she didn't see that..." He mumbled.

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
If there was one thing Annalise was good at, it was her pretty impressive peripheral vision. Though she was browsing through her Seventeen magizine, Annalise managed to noticed the tumble off the surf board and the resurfacing several seconds later. She would admit, she was slightly nervous for his sake when it took him that long to come up for air, but she wasn't going to tell him that. No, instead she grabbed the two plastic water bottle she stored in her beach bag and headed his direction.
"Are you alright? That was quite a show," she smirked before letting out a small chuckle. She pushed the loose strands of blonde curls back behind her ear as she handed me a water bottle. "You might want this. It's pretty hot outside."

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
Dire stood wide-eyed for several seconds before processing what Annalise had said, he then cringed for staring right at her with his red eyes. "Uh, yeah thanks..." He said as he took the water bottle, blushed, looked down at the bottle as if to read the nutrition facts, and hurried over to his little area. He kept his shirt off, but put his glasses and his dog tag on. He seemed fidgety as if he were embarrassed or nervous, or maybe both. He sat there, pulled out his book that he "borrowed" from the Athena cabin, and started mumbling to himself about how stupid he was.
(OOC: He's nervous about his eyes, if you go back over and don't chase him he'll go over to you. So don't feel like you have to do anything lol )

Annalise lifted one perfectly groomed quizzical brow in confusion before shrugging her shoulders. Her small set up was fairly close to his so she opted to just picking up her towel and things and place them even closer to his. "Mind if I sit here? I could use the company." Once again she flashed her signature smile as she brushed the loose curls away from her face.

"Um, yes." He winced "I mean no! I don't mind at all!" He smiled in a cute and embarrassed way. "So, lemmie guess..." He said turning his charm on "You're an Aphrodite child?" The "charm" only lasted for a few moments, and he then said "If I'm wrong I'll feel bad."

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
"Of course not, I'm a daughter of Apollo," she replied with mock offensiveness. She then quickly let out a small chuckle before sitting down on her towel. "No, you guessed correctly. Guilty as charged." She ran her hands down her arms, brushing away at the sticky sand.
"Who's you're parent?" She asked him with one raised brow. To be honest, Annalise was horrible at guessing campers' parents. Unless they had an ability that was a dead give away to their parent, Annalise always screwed up in trying to decipher each camper.

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
At the confirmation of being an Aphrodite child, he winced.
"Ares... I'm probably the only level-headed kid in that whole cabin..." He chuckled as if the level head comment were funny. "So, what's your story?" He said with the tilt of his head.
(OOC: I don't expect you to actually type all that out.)

"There really isn't much to tell," she said with a shrug. "I found out I was a demigod the hard way-the usual way I guess you could say, and the next thing I knew, I was being shipped off here."
She glanced down at her finger nails and began to pick at the already chipped paint; a nervous habit she developed up as a child.
"How about yourself?" She turned her face towards him, her deep green eyes were hidden behind a pair of aviators.

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
He sat as if he drifted for a moment, then in a sudden snap of the head he turned to her and said, "Same here." In an unsure tone.
"My name's Dire, I think you're pretty." He then shook his head in awe, he didn't mean to spew that last part. "Cool... I think you're pretty cool." He said trying to play it off. "We should go out." Again, he didn't mean to say that. "We should talk more..." He rephrased immediately.
He then said in an exaggerated moan "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME!!!"
He then laughed.
"Sorry, I prolly just blew any chances of dating you... Or even talking to you..."
(OOC: Sorry that's a little abrupt, I'm trying to play Dire... Who would normally blow it like that)

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
(OOC: Lmao! Haha no this is good. It keeps it interesting :P )
Annalise was grateful for the aviators she was wearing as they hid - somewhat - the surprised look she displayed on her face. She tried very hard to suppress the the bright blush she no doubt felt forming on her face. She wasn't sure exactly how to respond to the sudden out burst. So instead, she grabbed her water bottle and took a quick sip before placing it beside her. She immediately burst into a fit of giggles as she replayed the situation that just seconds ago happened in front of her.
"I do appreciate the comment; you seem pretty cool yourself." She displayed a small smile, her dimples protruding from her cheeks. Annalise wasn't entirely sure on how to address the latter comment. She did just meet this guy, wasn't it a little to early to know whether or not you were ready to date someone? I mean I guess some people do hit it off right away, she figured. Once again, the bright blush returned to her face.
"I assure you, you didn't blow you chances at talking to me."

"Whoa, wait... I didn't?" He then made a mock Superman pose "Guess I am good at this!" After a long silence, he snapped his head her way and asked, "Can you sing, ummm..." Emphasizing he didnt know her name.

"Oh, it's Annalise. And no, I can most definitely NOT sing." Almost as if on cue, her mind raced back to the times she tried to sing, however all that came out were sounds similar to a croaking frog. She shook her head, releasing the embarrassing memory. "How about yourself? This son of Ares have a name?"

(OOC: Oops! I completely forgot he had already stated his name earlier. My bad! xD )
"Well, I will admit, it is creative. But it seems like it suits you."
She noticed the cringe and wonder why he did so at the mention of his parents. However, she did just meet him, and she did not want to seem invasive, so instead she kept to asking non too personal questions.
"And I assume surfing isn't exactly your strong suit either, especially after that most recent show," Annalise smirked.

He laughed "Never surfed in my life."
His mind was racing. He felt like he should tell her the truth about everything. It is, after all, a new life. I'll get to that later he thought. "So do you stay year round?" He really hoped she did because he did too. He would love to see her when he was actually the best option guy option at camp.
(OOC: That's fine XD )

"I don't, I go back home for school and such," she said, brushing, once again, a loose curly back into place. "I wouldn't mind staying year round, but I enjoying going back home to visit my dad and old friends. How about you?"

"I... I stay year round. Not anything to go back to really. I just..." Okay, Dire that's enough. "I just stay and help out." He longed to spill. He just couldn't make himself. He knew Annalise was letting a lot of lies go, because he was not the best liar. It made him feel bad. He sipped his water and noticed her picking at her nails. "I wouldn't take an Aphrodite child to be the one picking at any makeup." He winced "Not saying you need makeup. I just noticed your fingers..." He drooped his head figuring it would be better to just shut up.

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
She hide a smirk as she glanced down at her chipped finger nails, sprawled out on top of her legs. The white chipped paint looked almost as if, she had just finished working in the art room and never bothered to clean up afterwards. "I pick at them, a nervous habit I developed as a kid," she said as she turned to look at him. "I figured I should stop, especially since I'm wasting a perfectly good bottle of nail polish, but habits are hard to discontinue." She pulled her knees up and wrapped her arms around them, digging her toes into the white sand. Annalise couldn't help but get the feeling not everything he was saying was entirely true. However, that fact that she just met the camper did not give her the right to know every little thing about him. Instead, she figured it would be just best to let him tell when he felt it was right. "So exactly do you enjoy doing?"

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
She almost immediately noticed the use of past tense when talking about his sister. She felt a slight pang, almost of regret? But for what? She never experienced anything that he might be feeling. But then again, Annalise was known to assume things. Was his sister dead? Or did he just no longer talk to her? She figured now would be a good time to ask those slightly personal questions most people don't like asking. "How did she die?" She asked. She figured she would go for the most hardest question for starters.

"She..." He started shaking his head as if he was scared. His hands trembled a little bit, and his eyes started watering [he was even more grateful for the glasses]. He said, "If I tell you the truth to my backstory, I need three questions answered. Can you handle it, will you believe me, and will you not tell a soul?"
He looked at Annalise with a solemn face.

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
Annalise's deep hunter green eyes widened, but with her wearing sunglasses, he had no clue. She managed to maintain a blank face up until she decided words were now required. "Wha-What?" Annalise only heard words spoken like his in movies were the main guy is about to deliver some super deep, super serious stuff, that could potentially change the lives of everyone around him. Annalise seriously doubted that anything he told her could seriously change the outcome of her life... But still, there was always that one chance. Besides that, there was also the whole 'can you handle it?' aspect of it all. Handle what? Another unexplainable mystery? She was a demigod for crying out loud, before her life here, she had no idea things like that even existed... And she managed to handle that pretty well... Well maybe not so much that one thing... Annalise's mind trailed off before she realizes he was still waiting her answer.
"Well before I answer those three questions, why don't you answer mine first." She removed her sunglasses and placed them on top of her head - something she would most definitely regret later - and took a deep breath before releasing it. "Why do you feel the need to tell me all you're about to say? We just met." Annalise did not want to come across mean, as if he was being slightly weird indulging in his entire life story; moreover, she was just curious as to why he felt the need to tell her all of this. Did he feel the need to do so? As if Annalise deserved the right to know? Because she most certainly did not want him thinking that. "If this is too difficult for you to tell me, you don't have to."

Re: Just Two Funny People (Private)
He smiled, which surprised him even, so he couldn't imagine how surprised Annalise was. "Oh, it's going to be the hardest thing I've ever done," He chuckled through the makings of a sob "I feel to need to tell you for multiple reasons. First: You're the only person I can consider a friend as of right now. Second: You deserve to know. Third: I feel that I won't regret telling you. You seem like a great person, and I would love to get to know you MUCH more. We could never do that until I told you who I really am. So if you want to get up, walk away and never look back you can. Or, I'll even make it easy for you, I'LL go somewhere and you'll never hear from me again. Or if you want to stay and not hear my life story, that's fine too. Just tell me, I'm really good at adapting..." He said with the most solemn face and voice you've seen out of him all night. [He clutched his dogtag furiously as he said all of that.]
