    I walked in, Cynder a bloody head in my arms. The lady didn't bother to ask any questions, and led me back into a room and I put Cynder on a bed.

    "What the hell happened to her?! why, you don't look so good yourself."

    "Some guys . . with knives . . on the street . . alll masked. . . we don't own anything . ." I said, making it sound convincing.

    I nodded. "This kind of thing happens all the time. She's cut all over?"

    I nodded vehemently, and said, "Yes, everywhere. She passed out from blood loss a while ago. "

    I nodded again and started to clean her wounds and give her medicine and other doctorly stuff.

    I turned around. Some of those cuts weren't good for modesty . .

    "I don't quite see how I could." I said, finished stitching up all her cuts. I had attached all the IV's. I walked over to the boy. "You can turn around. Do you have any cuts or anything?"

    "I'm fine. I'll just wait for her to get up, thank you." I said, taking a seat.

    "The police will be here shortly to ask you questions about your attackers."

    "I . . . don't remember much . ."

    " . . I have other patients to attend to. I'll check in on her later. Okay?" I walked away.

    I turned to Cynder. I kissed her on the cheek, and whispered "Wake up soon." Before retaking a position in the chair.
