Dez stood perfectly still, trying hard to keep a poker face.
"Oh really?" he questioned, moving his face slower till they were a hair's breadth apart. "I seem to be perfectly fine now, maybe its just your imagination?" he grinned.

I walk back to the park area, and wait for Theo to catch up to me. I sit down on a bench and start surveying the area for possible job openings.

Theo caught up with her, jogging the last few meters. After a quick look around, he sat next to her, one arm casually around her waist. "You're fast," he complimented, grinning at her. "Even with that prosthetic." She was fast too, he'd noticed that when they were fighting.

I laugh, "Yeah I guess you can say I am fast." I get up and walk over to a doughnut stand that has a Help Wanted sign in the window. "You looking for an employee?" I ask the person running the stand. "Yeah, we need someone to make the doughnuts, I'm a cashier, and I can't really make anything." He replied to me. "I can do that. Just under the table is the best way for me to work." I say slyly. The cashier considers this and says "You see, I was given possession of this stand, but I can't cook. If you can, you are hired."

"She can cook," Theo called from his place on the bench. He hadn't gotten up from his place, letting Alex handle it. Her bruises and slightly beat up look would make her appear sketchy, but the cashier seemed to be low on brains and wasn't doing the math.

"Well maybe it is...but i think not." her eyes brightened while a mischievous smile crossed her face. She closed the space between them closed her eyes and kissed him.

"Yeah, I am an extremely good cook. Oh, and sorry about my bad appearance. I'm going through a tough time." The cashier thinks this over for a couple of minutes, and finally says "You got the job. You will get $9.00 an hour starting now. Now go wash up and show me what you got." I walk into the small stand and wash my hands. After I put on some gloves I go to work. I look at Theo through a window. He was still sitting at the bench. 'Go get a job' I mouth to him. Hopefully he knows how to lip read.

Theo grinned at her. He could lip read. He'd known mute kids who'd relied on his ability to lip read in order to be understood. With a dramatic sigh, he got to his feet and trotted out. He wanted to be close to her, but he wouldn't find anything decent in the park. He waved, and left.

It would be boring, but I had to work without Theo near me. I get down to work, making doughnuts for hungry customers. By the time I'm done working, It was dark out. I made $64.00 though. I get out of the stand and go in search of Theo.

Dez was taken aback by this move, but allowed it, closing his eyes, and enjoying the warm touch of her lips on his, and the rosey scent that swept all around her. After a few seconds, he pulled back, his eyes wide in shock, but also kind of excited, happy at the warm surprise.
