Morgan's bunk

"Dude, do I look like Medusa? I know my hair's bad but please, I actually washed it today."

Taking the pepper from its stem, I drew my ballpoint pen from my pocket and turned it into a dagger, cutting the vegetable into clean red slices. The first one crunched as I bit down on it. Raw paprika was simply life, I couldn't get enough of it.

"You could've fouled me." I stated, sticking my tongue out at you. "But seriously, what did you learn from Lou Lou?" I asked her, crossing my legs.

"I'm not telling a Muggle about that wizard stuff. You can dream."

I bit off another part of the slice, the juice tingling my tongue and the vegetable crunching in my mouth.

"I did learn some pretty neat tricks like pigballs from her, but I gotta say, I learn most from the books. Y'know." Circe's books. Derek was actually among the only ones who knew I owned them.

"The books, yes," I corrected with a smirk. "I didn't find Avada Kedavra yet though."

Grinning, I finished my slice of paprika and started another one. A naiad started brushing her hair slowly, right under the surface of the lake.

"Avada Kedavra? That's the death spell in Harry Potter you uncultured Minotaur butt," I laughed, giving him a punch in the arm.

I finished up my paprika and stretched, sitting comfortably in the hot sunlight.

"Bring it on, flower kid!"

I laughed, Mist playfully gathering around my wrists, snaking between my fingers.

The bark spiked up into wickedly long thorns and I immediately got off my branch.

"That's it Vinyl! You're going into the lake!"

Pointing my finger at him, I created a brief inverted magnetic field which would project him into the lake but far enough from the shore for his head not to hit the rocks accidentally.

I hesitated between pushing him in and letting him go, finally opting for the latter and letting him back onto the shore.

"What, are you afraid of the water?" I asked, crouching next to him.

"Whoa, sorry man," I said, taking a step back.


Damn I had been a bit too far this time. I was so stupid, trying to be funny and ending up hurting others.

"You okay?" I asked.

I broke into a small smile, then punched him.

"That's for threatening me."

Then I went to sit on a sun heated rock, kicked off my flip flops and put my feet into the fresh water. Wow, that was delicious. My feet appeared paler because of the water, their shape apparently undulating with the movements of the waves. I hoped no naiad would come and tickle me cause I am extremely ticklish.

"Are you gonna go to the Carnival festival in New Rome?" I asked.

"Sleeeep. I can sing you a lullaby if you want," I added with a grin.

The water around my feet was really very refreshing and I leaned back on my rock, looking up at the sky. Perfect summer afternoon.

Propping myself up on my arms, I looked at his head resting on my knees. "Bro. If there's any god out there who has something against LGBTQ+ people, it's certainly not the Olympians. Or any other from the Greco-Roman pantheon. I mean... Zeus and Ganymede? Apollo and Hyacinth? Just to name some examples."

I smiled a bit and rested my head on her shoulder, sighing with content. "I'm happy to hear that, Morgo." I exhaled and looked over the lake, it glimmering like diamonds.

"Like come on it would really be hypocritical of them not to accept non-hetero people." I passed an arm around his shoulders and looked out at the lake. "And even if, I think Demeter would understand, she's one of the most mom-like goddesses or so I've heard."

"You're so lucky she payed you a visit," I said, staring out at the lake. I had seen my mother... wait a second, thrice? Once on Olympus, once when she had given us the Quest and the third time was -again- on Mount Olympus, right after the Quest. Since then, nothing, no call, no dream, no quick hi. I wasn't expecting anything anyway.
